Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 січ 2021
- In this video we'll be shading a cartoon character in 1) a cartoony shading and 2) in a semi-realistic shading. I'm sharing tips & tricks as well as showing you shading and rendering techniques. The tutorial is done in Clip Studio Paint, because Photoshop is really buggy at the moment.

Cartoon Daemon: Kinda cute
Semi-realistic Deamon: Will eat you, will eat your family, will eat your dreams, will eat hopes and ambitions, kinda scary af
If they weren’t the same demon they’d date each other
XDXD
Keep it at 420 likes
I desperately want to try the semi-realistic but I'm so scared to remove my lineart/use render layers and paint over everything
You can always go back lol. Are you talking digital?
I don't know what app you use but I think there is an option to duplicate / copy. You can make duplicates of your drawing so if you don't like the rendering you can go back to the original one???
@@goldenrats9742 I’m pretty sure all art programs made for making full art pieces have a duplication option for layers
@@iexistyes_ Thank you for the info!
@@goldenrats9742 no problem!
Whoa! The semi realistic shading on Daemon looks so cool!
I think it makes him look so freaky XD BUT I REALLY APPRECIATE IT ♥
How is your post 6 days ago when this video was posted 5 days again?
Oh- now it says 6 days- oof
its just me or looks like valorant art style?
Me as a photographer: What's a Daemon?
Ahh idk if you'll see this comment but your art is a huge inspo ❤️❤️❤️
I SEE IT ♥ and aaaaa you're really sweet. Thank you!
“Listen to your teachers”
Looks at my computer on mute with my teachers talking, “nah-“
i love the semi-real rendering. it adds to the demon feel, bringing it into our world a bit more. I feel sometimes cartoons fail to convey how cool character designs really are
Wow, This style reminds me of Arcane (Riot Games) animation.
Amazing!
I'm saying the same thing
@@whenzelisbored492 no, u said " i'm saying the same thing " 😉
I'm screaming it's literally Silco lmao
As someone who can't shade/highlight hair, watching you doing that was mind blowing
Thumbnail looks like Silco from Arcane
I really do love videos like this because not only does it give me more ideas and variation in my own art, but it also just validates me in my current cartoony style. Sometime I just feel like I am being lazy for not doing things more realistically, and that's not entirely true.
Same
I just love the direction your art and channel is going. I’m ready!! ✨✨
YAY THANK YOOOOOU ♥
Finally someone who uses clip studio thank you!! I feel like everyone is using procreate these days 😭👏👏👏
I'm Just happy that Nadiaxel is releasing a new video 😁
Awwwwww thank you >////
Made me remember netflix's "Klaus"
Did she just make silco ?..
I can't get over all the information you are offering everyone for free, You. Are. Amazing!
The start: 😐
The rest of the video: 🤗
Awesome video btw! Helped a lot
Also I live your new icon!
THANK YOU, ROSE ♥
Haha u know 😂
This is honestly one of the most concise, easiest to understand digital art tutorials I've found!!! I finally understand how to make my art digital, thank you so much :)
This is so amazing! I can’t wait to try this out. Thank you so much for these videos. They help so much ❤️
This looks super amazing! Absolutely love your artstyle.
It's been ages since I've watched a tutorial and really felt like I benefitted from it. Thank you tremendously :)
I've seen HUNDREDS of tutorials on youtube on how to shade drawings and NONE OF THEM mentioned the Asaros head technique!! THAT SHIT IS A GAME CHANGER FOR ME! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I love your art style it has actually inspired me so much and influenced my semi realistic art style sooo much!!!
I thank God for you and this tutorial, I was looking everywhere for a tutorial that didn't immediately dive into a dozen different layer settings for weeks now and this one is perfect.
I'm so grateful that I found your channel! Your videos helped me improve my art! Thank youuu!💗
Hi, I’ve been in love with drawing and art/comics/manga my whole life, but I just recently upgraded to digital and I’m so in love with it lol. This video helped me out IMMENSELY, I’ve never really gotten the shading of my characters down packed, but I think that’s about to change. Thank you, keep up the great work. Oh, and you’ve got a new sub btw 👌🏾
I’m so excited!!!
Totally worth it ❤️❤️❤️
You make the best tutorials on UA-cam thank you so much for doing what you do
Just found this, and all I can say is FINALLY someone explains the steps taken to achieve a rendered aesthetic!!! I appreciate this. Thank you!!
i literally screamed the moment i realized ur using CSP, Yasss!!
I've told you before, but you're such an amazing teacher. I love your art, and love your tutorials

Also this video was very helpful for the project I’m working on right now.
i love how this tutorial was very simple and calming to watch and learn. i really loved it so thank you
this was SO helpful and SO on point! i have been looking for tutorials like this for months, thank you so much!
Omg this looks fireeee🥺✨✨
*splashes with water* XD
Wow! Thank you so much for making this video! You seriously deserve so many more likes. I could not for the life of me understand the shapes of shading fully, as I had never heard of the planes of the head reference. I also didn't realize that there is actually an art style called "semirealism," and that helps me understand variation between it and cartoon so much better now. You have just made my artistic life so much fuller and easier to manage, so thank you. Now if I can just figure out this stuff for cartoon/semirealistic animals.
You are truly inspirational and so talented, I am just amazed that you simply give this valuable information to your viewers for FREE! I struggled with these concepts for so long converting to a digital workflow from traditional art methods. I am still enjoying watching your videos even though I am still trying to get back to more traditional methods. I believe that it is a real bonus that your working with an affordable program too! Many people just use Photoshop and expect those who follow along to do the same! Nadia, you are truly a Gem! Please take care and be safe and keep creating these amazing videos!
this vid helped me realise, ever since i watched this my art really improved !! thank u so much ♡♡♡
Ur art is so inspiring and as u said U ARE MY NEW TEACHER!
I always struggle with where to place shadows, so this video was SO HELPFUL!! thanks for the Asaro head tip too ❤️❤️
Omg this tutorial is amazing . Can't believe I found it just now . My art is looking better already. And the character design of the demon lad is just chefs kiss.
the art is similar to Silco, Arcane
Silco and Alastor
Happy New Year!!
Cant wait to start drawing and use her advice!
I had such a fun time learning with you! I’m gonna try to take some of these tips and incorporate it into my style thanks girllll💓💓
I’ve really drifted from my cartoony style and I’m trying to get back to it and watching you videos really help
Thank you!!! came up on suggestions and this year I'm getting into digital art. I'm using mouse and keyboard at the moment. Until I can get a drawing pad. But i rung the bell to get notified love your content!
loved this tutorial, so explicit and helpful, simple and super professional at the same time, thank you very much,
You're a very lovely and charismatic teacher and artist. Love listening to your vids ❤
I'm so jealous 😭😭 like it's so satisfying to watch you shade i felt goosebumps likeeee arrghh that's soo coolll
This is what I needed, thank you so much also YOU DIDN’T USE CUSTOM BRUSHES( or not that I noticed) BLESS YOUR SOUL. Other guides provided info on the differences and a little bit of what you should do but never really went further and explained some techniques and methods on how to do it.
Ahhh I’ve been looking for a video using this style for long time now. Thank you!!! I absolutely love your styles and channel 💜
I'm looking forward to all the tutorials! Happy New Year!
The queen is back 👑
I love your educational videos so much that it teaches a lot and that might lead to a really cool formal development💝
I was drawing a cow and was wondering if this worked and after doing just a little bit it worked amazingly I’m so happy I found this you are a life saver
This is super helpful! Even just the settings on the fill tool helps me immensely haha
I actually felt like when I first tried doing this w/out a tutorial, it actually looked pretty good. I searched it up anyway, to make sure i was doing it right, and your video was super helpful✨!!! thanks ^^ !!
That's really cool, thank you for the planes of the head tool Nadiaxel!
I've been experimenting with a non-shading/flat look these past few drawings that have been working for me.
But this is all good info to know! 💛
Tysm I needed this I always wanted to draw semi realistic but I didn’t know how to color and shade it! Huge help!
I loved this video! Your semi realistic painting style is rad!! ✨✨
Finally! A genuinely helpful video on cell shading! Praise you!
Thank you so much for this! This has helped me in more ways than one!
Makes me glad Clip Studio paint has a similar feel to Photoshop (what I use). I should be able to create a similar effect! Thanks for making this tutorial!
thank you!! I've been struggling with the skin so much by adding so many colors and eventually mudding up the skin color and making them have super sunken in eyes.
This tutorial is amazing ❤️! I got my first commission today following your commissions video so thanks a lot! 😆I was not expecting to get one at all 😆😍! Thank you Nadiaxel 💜🥰
Thank you, Nadia!! Love your OC’s btw!
Tysm for sharing!! I've ALWAYS wondered how artist could color like this. I always questioned myself if I needed a set of colours or I needed some sort of reference to guide me, to go to a level of skill like this but it turns out it's just about blending and picking the right shades!! This was really informative and helpful, I hope other people could see this too 😭😊🇵🇭💕
The face planes are so smart! I will definitely try using that sometime!
God bless this video.
For the first time EVER I want to get to the colouring/shading of a drawing.
Thank you! I've always struggled so much with it. Even as an art student 😭
Wow!! So cool!! I love both styles of shading that you did, but I have to say everytime I envision a character that I am trying to draw I always try the realistic shading style method. However, I am not very good at it but really found it helpful the way you broke down every step. (I hope that makes sense) Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing your next video 😊!!!!
I just discovered your account and binged a few of your videos. I really enjoy your content and I'm really happy I found your account! The digital art video tips you shared were really useful. :)
