The 4x4 traction control system on the D-max is amazing
I used to drive both hilux and D Max.. but since 1st time i drove D-Max, i just realize that Hilux just an overrated pick-up truck! I prefer Dmax and Triton. Value for money,low maintainence and they will get your job done well.
Isuzu is the best for me. Since 2009 my bighorn only recieves a maintenance, until now i didnt have any issues on it. I never changed the wheel bearings since i bought the SUV, and its still running until now.
i received a company car with my remuneration package with my employer and was given a few options/parameters nothing over $40k had to be a commercial vehicle for tax purposes and it needed a tray for the odd delivery of a pallet and landed on a new 4x4 Dmax Space Cab just the basic model nothing fancy; i've heard nothing but good things about them so i'm pretty excited to pick it up in the next few days!
Amarok, Ranger, HiLux, better than D max, are you serious. Dmax don’t have to compete with those girlie utes because it’s the most reliable Ute in the business. Reliability will win every time over looks and fancy gadgets. Get a grip young fella.
Well took my navara series 2 through the state & alpine forest 2 weeks ago. 3 different types of terrain. Rock and dust, mud and snow.
Went with mates with modified vehicles ,and climbed to the top. The boys were very impressed. By the way this was stock , as it left the dealership. It's the driver who gets most out of the vehicle. Not the other way round
Dmax are monster climbers taken my d max places my Ole cruiser couldn't.

Some cars are just underrated by nature. The Navara is very good off road, the ABLS continues to work upfront when rear locker is engaged, and that 7 auto is well spaced. Im not going to say it is better than this or that, but I doubt those utes can do better
D max is the best..!
DMAX is for men, don't give a shit about the 'car feel' because it's a pick up, a work vehicle. Navara is large wheels off a Micra/Juke. No competition.
Your dreaming lol nav has better everything and with a decent lift kit put in way better flex than leaf springs
Can trust the Navara, don't mind the Isuzu but the D Max feels like a massey furgeson to drive compared with Navara, Ranger

A very good unbias review. By the way, we have had a very bad experience with nissan 4x4 vehicle (d22) before. And that's gonna be the first and the last time we're buying a nissan vehicles. We now have a dmax and happy with the performance. Looking forward for a new isuzu 4x4 vehicle

I've seen the Amarok doing very well in a muddy open pit on slippery ascends.
@@kloppskalli Doing well and being "at the top" as the old man claims is completely different things. The Automatic of the Amarok does well, but it is no way near in off road capability as the Nissan Navara og Izusu with low range and diff. lock. The second he said that, he completely lost all my respect.
When he sed isuzu ain't as good as hilux for of road. My isuzu can go places that the hilux can't. lol😂

Your opinion is subjective while the reviewers opinion is objective. The Dmax doesn't have a diff lock. Ill leave it there.

added more torque in dmax to compensate for losses through DPF. would be interesting to see how much torque it would have with and without dpf at the rear wheels. probably the same

They are in a high state of tune , if you want something for the term of a lease , fine , if you want something to last 15 odd years the D Max in my opinion is the only option .
Sorry for my english, I'm french. I've bought a Navara because it's more confortable (multilink suspension) I don't have to work with this Navara ; it's only for familial use : bicycle, going in the forest with children etc... I will keep it only 5 years. The warranty is 5 years and 160.000 km (100.000 miles). The engine is from Renault. So for 5 years, it's okay...more...I don't know... french engines are not so strong. Alex Frankl is right ; if you want to keep it for 15 years, go for a D Max. If you need the best for offroad, I think Mitsubishi is the best (but confort = zero).
Before buying a pickup, the question is : what I need to do with the car ?
I have and old navara (2011) it works ok. The plastics are bad as hell and the interior is ugly as a kick in the balls. But I never had a problem with the engine or transmission, the 4wd is very good, it lacks of a front or rear locking differential but I can do a lot with the central and low lock.
But the new engine is from Renault (same than Renault Master). The engine is not a Nissan product anymore ; so the troublesome won't be the same.
the reliability of ISUZU makes NIssan look like a brand for a third world country

Carlton Overbay must of been a lucky bloke, i work at a dealer of both nisssan and isuzu, we have multiple navs every week being towed in.
Dmax can't say we have had any yet (that require a tow)
The only issue we've had with them is front CV boots leaking if a lift kit is put on it and nothing else adjusted or strenghten
3rd world would require a tough drive.

We just got the new 2017 Isuzu D-Max LS this is the first ute we have owned as we have had car's all,our life's and it is great it's just the 2x4 as we are all way's on the road and not off highway.
All the shit talkers on here have clearly never done proper off roading in different vehicles. I'm from South Africa, I've been up and down the spine of Africa. For those against Amarok, do yourself a favour and Google Amarok Spirit of Africa and Safari 4x4. The VW Amarok is the only vehicle that survives all terrain, has the best configuration and drive train

Definitely isuzu mate. No dpf problems you find in toyota. Better value for money with a reliable engine.

Nissan giving lot of turbo' transmission ' differential problems and Lock in four wheel drive too often only four wheel drive that works good for Nissan is the patrol i6/V8 both i6 gasoline and diesels engines r'e great..

Dmax engine is built by isuzu. Isuzu actually builds engines for other manufacturers in some cases too
You should watch the history of Isuzu before you say NISSAN,MERCEDES built the engine of isuzu,ISUZU built the legendary 4jj1 engine.....

Its the M9T engine used in the Renault master and other vans by nissan and the vauxhall/opel group, and is well regarded in the van world.
