I know the two series are different and I love both of the shows. This series showed DH and FJ in a different way, DH being more serious, but still a little bit flirty with FJ. This first series breaks my heart for them both, although I know DH loves FJ in the end, he still will not marry her. The second series showed DH much more relaxed and able to fall in love. And wow, how he flirted with FJ in the second series. In the second series, I love the whole Fanyin Valley part because those times in the valley were how DH and FJ became really comfortable with each other. FJ cooked for DH and DH trained FJ for the tournament. When FJ fell into the dream of Aranya, this was the moment DH admitted his love for FJ by following her in and taking care of her. But the dream of Aranya was the beginning of their test in true love, because when they finally broke out of the dream, the chasm and the demon empress broke out too and DH had to save the world. To me, FJ failed that test, she ran away from DH, but DH hid things from her and didnt accept FJ to fight with him. So she ran away without knowing or understanding the reasons. In the end, they both almost died fighting the demon empress, but made it out, just barely. The second series is more satisfying for our hearts.
