Type II Error Calculations

Type II error is calculated when the null hypothesis is false.

Why do we use critical value from alpha (type 1 error) to find Beta (type 2 error)?
It is less intuitive, could u clarify?

Because only with alpha you will get a Critical value . This critical value you have to plug in the alternate hypothesis curve . The Beta is the area in the alternate hypothesis curve .Thats why.
