- Drake Before They Were Famous, Aubrey Drake Graham on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Canada. father, Dennis Graham a catholic from Memphis Tennessee, was a drummer for legendary rock star Jerry Lee Lewis, and his mother, Sandi Graham a Jewish Canadian school teacher, also hails from a "very musical" family.

Drake has my utmost respect because unlike most rappers now a days, he didn't get famous and didn't make money early in his life by selling drugs. He acted, made music, and became big the RIGHT way. And he actually says words, not random annoying sounds
But he already had it good. What should get your respect is when someone beats the odds and gets out of the ghetto and supports his family

For all y'all saying drake didn't start from the bottom... He did. When he was 5 years old his parents divorced and he lived in Weston road (a very dangerous neighborhood) with his mom and when they did move they lived in half of a house meaning he and his mom had to share a house with another family, he didn't graduate high school either. Yes he was on a tv show but that payed less than a teachers salary, he always helped his mom pay the bills and by the time everything was payed off there would be hardly any money left. But that's not even half of it and now he's here, living in luxurious houses, driving European cars and is one of the hottest artists out right now with basically every song on his album placing on the top 100 billboards.....so yea "started from the bottom, now we're here" is pretty accurate.
