Such a nice looking rug! Those in between picks of 8/2 cotton are brilliant, as is using the tapestry beater. I also like that you did not sew all the rags together. Thanks for the great video.
Love your rag rug weaving. Thanks for showing the Damascus edge. Looks easier than other ones I've seen. (Also, bought 2 of the yarn holders for storing my 8/2.) 😁
from Gerry- Looks great! I have made a rag rug before but did not put the cotton between the rags. I will do that for the next one. Blessings from Pennsylvania, USA
This turned out so wonderfully! Also, I love the ribbon rack idea for holding your warp threads... I hate chasing my spools around the floor when I'm warping, especially if I have multiple colors. I might try my lazy kate next time and see if that will work!
Looks so great! I have a pile of cellulose scarves I have been saving up to make a rag rug with. I'm newer to weaving and not so confident my idea will work. What do you think? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Yes you can, Just be careful when pulling the knots, as a table runner has a gentle edge, not a packed down edge. If you pull too hard you will distort the fabric. Usually you would use a Damascus edge for a rug, mug rug or a wall hanging an examples, but I like to push boundaries, and I think if you were gentle it would work.
Just about to start a rag rug for my grandson's caravan. Great timing and thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. ❤
Wonderful! I need to make more of these, I love mine!
Good to see your wrist is better. I learn so much from you! Thanks from Germany.
You are welcome, (love your mastiff in your photo! Adorable)!
Putting a couple of picks between fabric strips is genius! I never thought of doing that before.
Thank you!
I have some old t-shirts was going to turn into yarn and crochet but this looks like much more fun. Waiting for my loom to arrive....very exciting!
Oh awesome!! Welcome to the rabbit hole! 😂

Hi there! I think this would definitely work! As long as you can cut them into 1 inch or so strips for the weft. Good luck !
Would that Damascus edge be suitable for a table runner also?
I think a rug will be next on the loom!
