Do you know if that was available in 2020 as well as 2021? Also I hear conflicting information as to whether plug and charge will eventually come to the 2020 models. Have you heard anything there? Thanks as always to your very informative videos. At least I don’t feel like I’m missing too much on my 2020 4S. An alternative sport chrono display and race tex B-Pillar covering was the only intriguing thing. I know PTS comes at quite a premium, understandably. The deviated stitching in 2021 was exciting enough. 😉
Ron! Yes the 2020 and 2021 models had it as standard but Porsche was not very vocal about it. It was a 3 part series... 1) A Connectivity Box in the center console 2) Compensator Control unit in passenger side of dash board that gather the LTE signal from the Connectivity Box in the Center Console. 3) LTE Antenna on Passenger side front area which would send and receive signals for the Connectivity Box and Compensator Control unit! They must have found it wasn't working quite as it should. In terms of plug and charge I do not believe it will be coming to 2020 unfortunately at this point in time 😕 Thanks for the support and feedback! Always appreciate it! Very minor tweaks... not missing much with you 4S! Especially with the most important part.... the driving experience... it doesn't get any better 😉
Have you done any tests/demos of the app based remote park assist? Part of the selling point is to put that car in at a narrow spot where you could not get out yourself - but how well that works depends on the margins the system requires. Would love your take on this!

Why exactly did they raise the price of the base models? Also, I noticed on the configurator videos that you don't select insulated glass. To me that seems like a slam dunk to have reduced noise and temperature changes within the vehicle, but maybe it just doesn't do enough or the standard glass is perfectly fine?
The prices of everything is increasing because of quantitative easing. Inflation is everywhere. Porsche has to pay extra for computer chips and other components so they have to pass that on. This isn't exclusively a Porsche issue.
Since most of the models are out, they’ll likely do incremental power upgrades from now on. Especially the Rwd; this is a 5000lbs. car with 248lbs ft. or torque :/

I believe at some point the battery tech will advance may not be anytime in the near future but it will! The key is getting more charging stations... at Electrify America's most powerful 350kW stations the Taycan will charge from 5%-80% in 22.5 min seeing that the battery is optimal and charging planner was used for those longer trips! That is perfect for a quick pit stop stretch the legs grab some coffee and continue.... but I am right there with you Doc. A greater selection of reliable charging stations will be the key 👍🏼
New Taycan Mission E Wheel paint design? The Mission E wheels have by default previously had silver rim, with black interior, with the rim having the option to be body painted. However, the new configurator has the entire interior portion of the Mission E wheels painted in white. I have not been able to have anyone confirm that this is a new wheel default option. Great catch and question! According to the 2022 configurator the wheels in standard are still Brilliant Silver/High Gloss Black but they definitely look white! There must be a rendering issue to where it is showing white! To get them painted in white will still be an option under "Wheels Painted in Exterior Color" if the car is white! 👍🏼 Hope this helps!
Have you driven a Taycan? Porsche is not about a car driving you but rather you enjoying the driving experience. Electrify America is the charging network that Porsche uses with 800 Total locations nationwide and 3500 chargers with expected growth of 1800 locations and 10000 charger by 2025. But then again a "Porsche" is not for everyone. There are plenty of other car manufactures out there for your liking, no need to bash on a brand that has other values than your own.
