Happy stage 2+ CVT owner here 👌🏻 The CVT will be fine as long you’re under 340TQ with a good tune. The HP doesn’t kill the transmission it’s the torque. And if you’re flooring it all the time and launching it, then bye bye transmission

A great video. I cant wait for the new FA motors in the New WRX and STI. I own a base model 2017 WRX and im in a sweet spot right now. Im 3 years in the subie community now and I never knew that the STI EJ engine was inefficient. I would never own a cat because I like the manual transmission. Stay safe brother and thank you for making great videos for our community.

What AOS did you go with. Couldn't tell from the quick shot. I'm still waiting on my sti I ordered in January. They are saying 4/14 now. Right at our expected surge. I work in maintenance at a hospital and its is crazy. Haven't closed only down payment, hoping to get a really good deal and interest rate. Any thoughts on the AOS voiding warranty repairs?

Is MT6 on WRX more robust than CVT as well? If so at least WRX CVT has more advanced AWD centre differential which is VTD + hydraulic clutch 45/55 instead of 50/50 + viscous clutch on WRX.

I'm on the fence. I just got a 2015 WRX STI, but I found out it was a little more beaten(ECU, and 2 sensors not being ready, oyxgene and evaporative), so thinking about trying to get a refund and perhaps get into a 2021 WRX CVT. I live in downtown denver...on the fence... oh yea, I'm still learning to drive stick, and have been avoiding driving the car due to the issues, dont want to add anything to the odometer. Right now from the mods I know it's got on it: invidia exhaust(not sure if it's catback, turboback...the dealership said it was an axleback...but, seriously?), and it's got an HKS BOV...Bought an extra warranty that cost like $5k so in total the price(but now finding maybe the warranty is voided as how they gave me the car) I paid is about the same price as a brand new CVT. 44k miles on the sti(launch edition too so them purty BBS rims). What would you do in this situation?

@@akqjtn I thought so. I'm in NY also.. Goshen NY. about 50 mins north of the city. Maybe you can come over and help me with the mod installs lol. They said 3 months which would put it around June at some point. Just in time for Summer. Only thing Dealer said I can do is a catback and a oil air separator. I want to get the IAG installed ASAP, but if i'm being honest, i'm a bit nervous about doing it. It looks like it can be a bit much and I never really ever worked on my cars, besides changing a battery out. DJ Tony Romeo ordered mine. Same color as his. Ordered 1/20, my updated delivery to dealer is 4/14. That should give you an ideal. Mine was build during the surge in Asia, so hopefully you get a shorter wait. It's painful, but I've had plenty of time to buy modifications. 😛

Kids holding the camera up themselves and it’s shaking all over the place... These kids have the music blasting and the talking audio is a whisper in comparison haha 😂 . It’s tough to watch and feel confident you can do it yourself. The instructions seems to be pretty good, but it’s always nice to see a video installation

New to the channel, I personally own a 2017 Honda Accord Sport and I've always liked WRX's but just haven't learned to drive manual. Just got the Accord almost a year ago after my '99 Camry failed on me.
It's still very early for me to thinking about a new car but I've had the WRX in a CVT and the newer Honda Accords with a 2.0 Turbo in mind. I want a manual car, but as a daily I just don't think it is practical. Since I'd want a CVT, more than likely it would be new and I'd have to custom order it? Correct me if I'm wrong. The price, with what I'd want would be around $34K and with the Accord, I'd also want it new with certain features and that would cost $35K-$37K. Just the price of the car alone, WRX would be the way to go? What would you chose and why? Dumb question but are Subaru's reliable compared to Honda's? And is the head gasket "problem" true for Subarus?
The WRX would also have more HP but a lower Torque compared to the Accord, but I feel like it would balance out? More than likely wouldn't even matter.

@Suggon Deez Thanks for the insight, I'm actually looking/waiting on the 2022 WRX and possibly going to learn Manual in a year or two. I saw a couple of CVT WRX's on the road these past months and it looked off to me. Might just be the little kid in me who grew up seeing WRX's in manual but we'll see. It would definitely be a daily and I would baby it, focus on cosmetic mods rather than performance. My main concern is just reliability of trans and engines/parts tbh, also running into traffic with a manual (heard its a pain).

If you like auto, and the comfort; buy the Legacy. If you want track, street race, cornering; learn stick and buy the WRX or STI depending on your budget. CVT just aren’t for those. You can destroy the transmission. Too bad the only regular auto transmission Subaru has is only on the BRZ.
