  • Roz Savage (www.rozsavage.com) became the first woman ever to row solo across the Pacific, a three-stage marathon that began in 2008 and ended triumphantly in 2010.
In this video, she talks about her transition from being an ordinary London office worker into an ocean rower and environmental campaigner, and how her voyage across the Pacific gave her insights into the challenges being faced by our oceans - and humans.

I don't know how rowing a fibreglass boat makes you an authority on anything. This is a person's hobby searching for a cause.

Thank you for the lovely Indian edible gifts (although I'm grateful that they're hypothetical - that would be enough to sink a boat!)

Love her message! Bravo, brave lady!! I love that she actually looked at her obituary both carrying on as she was and what she wanted it to be. A great tool to wake us up to our purpose and like she said how we had drifted off course. What an inspirig woman and what an inspiring story. Thanks for sharing that.

row row row your boat mindlessly across the sea.... merrily merrily merrily telling brown people how to be..... Not much different than an office environment with an isolated office.

Wow, that's amazing. Truly inspiring woman. Hopefully one day I'll find something as fulfilling as that must be to make you sail 3 oceans rather than saying one is enough.

No, just human. Just a particularly determined human.
Really, anybody could do it - if they really wanted to.
What do you really want to do?

So much inspired by your bravery in changing the course of your life to an adventurous and life risking one where you found your purpose, happiness and more importantly, become the voice for the tiny crisis suffering nations. You are an inspiration to the hopeless and the weak, you showed that all obstacles in life have a way to be dealt with. I salute your courage and willpower in changing the world for a better place
