I'd wanted to read "Some Desperate Glory" but you're far from the first who's said this about it, which has made me drop it off my list. I'd rather liked her earlier duology. 💚 Look forward to hearing about the March books!
Sorry to hear that the February books took the wind of our your sails. I hope March is more enjoyable! My Februrary reading went well. 8 books read, nothing under 3.5 but only one 5 ⭐which was "The Poet X" by Elizabeth Acevado. Loved it!
Someone told me about Freydis Moon, and I checked out some of their books. The prose is really good, and I love the premise of (most) of them. Very queer, and the type of horror that I seem to enjoy based on my love for The Magnus Archives (and now The Magnus Protocol). They might be a good fit for you as well. Most of them are novellas. The one I'm reading atm is Exodus 20:3, which is about a trans Latinx man who gets a construction job working on this abandoned church. He swiftly falls for the guy he's helping out-- who is actually a Biblically accurate angel. So it's like this mix of romance, urban fantasy, and horror. ETA: Mind you, I haven't read to any spicy parts yet, so I cannot properly recommend until I get there! ;)
Katey! Oh, Katey... I have a horror recommendation for you. Never Whistle at Night: An Indigenous Dark Fantasy Anthology. It's so good, and it has an audiobook (which is also amazing. I highly recommend the audiobook).
I’m hoping to read The Seven Year Slip and A Tempest of Tea soon!! I’m currently reading Anne of Green Gables and Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands and am loving both! Oh and my favorite book from February was The Hate U Give ❤️
Love your blouse!
I look forward to hearing more about Loving Country.
I love that blouse too! it looks great on you.
Thank you! It's actually my favourite dress! It's so cute and comfy! =)
Oh! Things in the Basement is one of my favorites. I hope you get to it and like it ❤

I did see that in plenty of goodreads reviews when I was considering DNF-ing. It seems really strange how publishers categorise things sometimes!
Wee Free Men is one of my favorite books of all time. I HIGHLY recommend you listen to it on audio or immersion read.
I do love a good immersion read! Thank you for the suggestion! :)

I'm trying to get myself out of a reading slump, I only read 4 books in February, half of what I read in January.
