Hey dudes and dudettes I just released a new video called "24 Hour Triathlon Nutrition Plan for Beginners" peep it here: ua-cam.com/video/xrLsMf7WuCQ/v-deo.html
It seems the nutrition calendar link is broken. Is there another link? I'm running my first marathon next year and trying to calculate how much I need to eat before, during, after the race. It's going to take me well over 2 hours to finish. I'm a slow runner/jogger!
Dustin Martin ahhhhhh, gotcha. Yeah, a lot of my recent videos are for beginners because SOOOOO many people these days are thinking about their first tri. All cool broski!
I ran my first half marathon this year. It took me 1:48:38. I started running this April after no running since I left school in 1994. A beginner can definitely run a sub 2 hour marathon. I know this because I did. It also nearly killed me.
Same sort of approach, don't go crazy but you can make your meals in the 1-2 days prior maybe just 20-25% larger with a focus on carbs. But don't go overboard because with nerves you'll probably find it tough to go to the bathroom to get rid of the food if you eat too much.
Hi, so in the week building up to the half marathon. (I have one on Sunday), would you just keep stocking up on the carbs and take it a bit lighter the day before the race? Thanks.
thank you totally agree! I hardly get hungry, i dont understand why its so overrated ! Then again i am slow but i dont really care, rather listen to my body. If i tried to go fast i'd probably end up with a lot of anxiety problems.

I haven't been ignoring you, I'm back in business with another video on What to Eat Before Running a Half Marathon buff.ly/1HL491H
Wow! I ended up using this video on my most recent 5k and lost 47 seconds(24:18)than my previous record. These races were 1 week apart! Thank you!
poo poo right on! I dig the name! Haha, keep at it!
Oh yeah, that was from an old website that doesn't exist anymore. Sorry about that.
GIANT

Many thanks. The diet was very helpful, I recommend this. I did my half marathon yesterday half marathon at 1:34:09
I just watched Taren and Ginger Runner back to back and I swear they're the same person.
Hahaha... nope, he's the Ginger Runner and I am a blond who some call ginger bastard.
Triathlon Taren thanks for not taking offense to my joke :D
Duuuude. 4 hours before a half marathon ... 4 hours? I always eat an hour before my start. No problems at all ...

Very good video
What if you start times 7 wake up to eat at 3am???
4 hours didn't work for me I was starving when the race started!!
Half Marathon... "They usually only last an hour to two hours...." WHAT... this is NOT a beginners guide then... hahaha.
+Dustybottoms55 Sorry, I didn't realize the video title indicate it's only for beginners?
Dustin Martin ahhhhhh, gotcha. Yeah, a lot of my recent videos are for beginners because SOOOOO many people these days are thinking about their first tri. All cool broski!
@Dustin Martin you made a logical point. If you can do a half in 1hr to 2...then youre not a beginner so i would assume you know how to eat

Ummmm, I believe i say the exact opposite in this video no?
@@TriathlonTaren he’s probably in the same boat as me- I’ve been eating carbs like a pig all week and don’t like what you said 😂
Too much food, to run an 1/2 you dont need that food. I have PR 1/2 in 59 minutes and my nutricion is based on legumes.
That video is sooooooo old now.
@@TriathlonTaren I can't find your Google+ page
