Incredible Italy, with its ~20,000 historical towns! I particularly love such gems like Orvinio, that haven't been restored and still breath a more genuine atmosphere
Thank You Andrei, very glad you enjoyed it. Indeed, Orvinio kept its original charm for sure, agreed!. It depopulated much during the last 30-40 years too.
@@StillWanderer After watching this video, I checked the Italian Wikipedia pages of all communes in Rieti province. I can't stop wonder how much heritage can be out there and how beautiful these hill-perched towns are. Your videos are very good as they combine drone footage and walking footage. That gives a very good ensamble & detail sense.
Thank You Andrei, it's messages like this that motivates me with this hobby. Indeed, it's a shame that many foreign tourists don't know well these little towns . They surely deserve to be seen and discovered. They are quite hard to reach sometimes but surely worth it. I hope to film more!
@@StillWanderer Unfortunately, most tourists do not really want to learn something from their trips, to discover something, just to conform to some social rituals. You need some education, to know history, to love art, in order to appreciate such things. As for my part, I keep an eye on your videos. They are refreshing for me :)
@@andreistirbu2733 I agree with you Andrei, unfortunately many times it's like that. It's a shame though, because there's so much to be disovered around the corners... Thank You SO much for your kind words; I hope to improve and to bring more videos in the future. I wish you a nice week and weekend ahead!
This is another gem! You must have felt like you were walking back in time. Via Segni...wow! I love the little descriptive plaques on the walls. Also the little ornaments and pot plants in people's front doors. Your drone intro and music is fantastic. Thanks again for another great walk🤗🚶
Thank You Geraldine! I was very pleasantly surprised by the town. It's a shame that my first sunny video has problems and I had to go there again during a cloudy day, but it can happen. Drone footage was done on that day though )
I have a special appreciation for the way you seek out and film these small towns that are mostly unknown by tourists. Italy is so full of cultural and artistic treasures and beautiful sights everywhere you turn, even in the most seemingly ordinary places. Thanks for your great work. I think that the overcast sky made the colors of the buildings appear more vividly. And what were all those charming plaques you took the time to zoom in on? I wonder if those were made as part of a community project? They are delightful.
Thank You Naomi! I'm very happy for your support and glad you enjoy them! Indeed, I think these plaques there are some kind of town hall project; they show the most famous places like a cartoon. Some of them are undecipherable though. Or could be a local school that made them I found them quite interesting!
Again a wonderful video uploaded by my friend... nice houses and cool place..loved watching it... eagerly waiting for venice tour. ..thank you once again.
Thank You Sudip! I'm happy you liked it! I truly wish to go to Venice one day. Pretty hard to move from region to region here in Italy now...but it'll finish eventually and all will be possible. Have a nice weekend!
Another nice video , minute things beautifully captured , church bells sound pleasant , plant pots outside houses look very nice . Great effort done by you .Enjoyed the video very much. Stay healthy and cheerful . Best wishes from India .
Just found this one after watching nearby Canterano yesterday! Another great walk, lots of beautiful colours and faded shades and tones on the buildings...plenty of what the Japanese call wabi-sabi : ) Thanks Ric.
Orvinio...lots of good memories there ... Charming town it was for sure, very close to other nearby towns which are yes, almost forgotten, but definitely worth a visit. Glad you enjoyed also it guys!
Thank You Sagi! Glad you enjoyed it! I truly wish to go there. Quite far from here tough, but next year I'll surely go in beautiful Emilia! Have a nice Sunday
Ohhh this is indeed an old was Milles.. remember Orvinio very very well. Very cute place indeed and a maze for sure) I wasn't so good back then at editing the videos and when I see them now I see also some errors in grading :(
Good question Sharon, I think it's a combination of all three actually. Also, we have an economy based in very small businesses (mainly family owned) which also helps to understand the "de-location" of businesses. Moreover, many people work in Rome and travel back and forth from surrounding areas to the biggest cities !
@@StillWanderer in the United States the small businesses have been the backbone of the economy. However in recent months liberal politicians have driven many of these businesses into the ground with draconian covid laws.

How in the world do the people in these tiny towns earn a living? Tourism, government subsidy, jobs on surrounding farms?
