Patty, I followed you since you packed your pallets in California through your Coronado days; then dismayed somewhat when you bought your (derelict) Panama property...Well, since then, with imagination, a lot of perseverance and dedication, you created your tropical paradise. Hola Patty. I don't have a green thumb. Everytime I try to grow something it dies. But your garden and trees are absolutely gorgeous! I have allergies to some plants and grass. But I'm so happy you can show all your beautiful flowers and I love the butterflies. Thank you so very much for taking the time to see it❤❤❤

About the compost, it does not have to heat up to be good "compost" and stirring it up now and then is good. When you stir it you are adding oxygen to the mix which is needed for composting. Either way it will all be good for your plants.

Your garden is amazing, your yard seems so much larger with all the vegetation. The amazing green reptile is that an iguana? That was a colorful bird, it almost looked like a Duck, what kind of bird was it? Lovely bird family that was being fed by its mother bird. Really lovely butterflys.
Yes, iguana - small one. Actually there were 2. The bird is a Woodrail - that shot got the colors they have 🙏 And I love their funny walk. Those baby birds were so sweet. All out of the nest now.
@@Pattybluehayes I get geckos in my home here in Boquete, they love my salt lamps! I love birds so much. Since El Valle's elevation is about half of Boquete's how warm is it there? Also, do you see any sloths on your property?
@@mtngrl5859 temps here range from mid 70’s at night to upper 80’s. Rarely into the 90’s but humidity is high. I don’t have trees so I don’t get sloths but my friends get them often!

Did you get a new camera? Is that what's different? As always, I love seeing your garden vision coming to life! It looks exactly like you are in Kauai, seriously. SO many butterflies and birds have found a haven in your little spot which means you are doing everything right. I'm a fellow protector of the orb spiders, too. I have a variety commonly called a trashline orbweaver -- hey I really appreciate a spider that makes their web obvious so I'm not walking into it! Happy gardening!
Yes!!! New phone, my 7s had many issues. I got a 14 pro. Loving it so far.
I just looked up that spider, too funny 😆 these golden orb weavers often have a zig zag pattern in their webs. Supposed to warn birds.
I am so happy to have given creatures a place to do their thing 🌟 more rain right now, crazy amounts of rain in these early months of rainy season.
@@Pattybluehayes Woot I win! The video looks great! I have silver orb weavers that make the zzz lines and before my neighbors started spraying 👿I also had spiny butt orb weavers. They look like freaking cartoons. Nature is LIT! Enjoy your rainy season. Tropical storms lining up here... 😱

Your garden is lovely. If want to purchase additional butterfly plants I recommend milkweed, lantana and porter weed.🦋😊
I had a buddleia plant but it died 😕 If I see one at the mercado again, I’ll try another time 🙏 thanks for the suggestions.
The milkweed is their favorite plant. The caterpillars eat their leaves and turn into butterflies. I recently saw six new monarch butterflies in my garden. I live in Fort Lauderdale , Florida and I am very familiar with the heavy rains. We call the rain a “possum pounder”. It is great for the garden and yours is so lovely. 🦋

I love the blue morphos, and they eat rotting fruit, I’ve seen a few at my bird feeding platform 🦋
