A freind just gave me a 1836 to try to fix, Would you have a diagram for all the inside parts? I took the right side cover off and there were 2 very small wires floating in there, but it will not rewind, and now the large band spring has jumped out and needs to be rewound back in,
Bad ass. . I want one too now . I believe you better wear a glove and hold the line and give a steady tensions .
Just got the same model reel. Can't wait to try it out
Man I found alot online wicked cool idea
These are automatic fly reels for fly fishing. However, I have been known to climb trees to unhook a fly.

I've found it ..... Luke's Floor Tree Stuff ..... thanks for the great videos
Works great indoors while retrieving but outdoors throwing is the true test! Show us how that works! Thanks
It works great in a tree
Those are fly reels not throw line reels.
repurposed why not
Nick,
Out of all the reels you've tried is the 1837 the one you prefer the most?
Does the 1827 hold the same amount of line?
what weight line and how long should it be? Do you need backing?
I have one. It never winds up fully. I have to add a wind or two every time. Is that normal?

Never heard them called throw line reels. Always automatic trout reels.
