Hoka Cielo X1 - for soft Marathons

- The Hoka Cielo X1 is a heavy racer which feels more like a long run trainer. It has incredibly deep, soft cushioning and a high toe-spring but its flexible carbon plate makes it feel too relaxed and not aggressive enough. While it feels very comfortable and efficient on long runs, it’s not a top-tier racer and at $275, it’s heavily overpriced

A long distance running shoe but not a racer. Excellent lock down. I am 2E and it's the only Hoka I can run in. After a couple of hours rest my legs feel like I did not run that day. Amazing feeling considering I am over 60 and usually feel my lower calf and Achilles tendon for a few hours after the run. This shoe is slow, wide and super leg saving. One point.. I love the laces ❤❤❤.
Thanks for sharing!
What am I missing here, they seem rapid to me. The rocker propels me forward like no other shoe, Wave rebellion apart. Just because a shoe isn't firm doesn't mean it isn't fast. That said this works best for midfoot runners, if you heal strike or opposite, you land on your tiptoes this probably won't work for you, so bear that in mind. Finally, you can definitely run a sub 3hr Marathon in this shoe and you can do it in comfort.
I check runrepeat with their dremel and Brandon Lawrr for my run shoe shopping thats it everyone else is a straight up salesman 😂
That's such a nice thing to read!
Yeah, runrepeat's lab tests are great.
I like way the shoe rolls thru the foot strike..for me it's a great long run shoe but I noticed that after an hour or so the weight started to show up..good for training but not for racing..
Good point! Thank you for sharing!
In all fairness, a Hoka being heavy, cushioned and not especially fast is pretty much on brand for them. I can imagine their customers being happy with what it offers. If you usually run in Cliftons it sounds like you might be happy doing a marathon in these.
Good take, I believe it is indeed the case
Edge video?
Edge paris? Coming!

Unless you’re aiming to run 3h or slower 😂😂😂😂
It’s a crazy price for such a heavy, underwhelming shoe.
Shoes are gettin ridicu... (never could spell that).
