Mike dirnt is a brilliant bassist, some of my favorite bass lines of his came from their first album when they were still teenagers which is crazy. very good job my man.
So, I wanted to take the time to actually give you a well thought comment on this video. As a bass player myself, I thought I could offer some insight. First off, I love videos like these. Seeing a band’s evolution is always really interesting; seeing the bass lines shine like this is one of the reasons I love Green Day. Unfortunately, I feel like there are some things that need some attention, or that would improve the overall quality of the video as a whole. Sometimes it seems like you’re really rushed or falling behind hitting the notes in time. Practicing with a metronome can really help you nail quick passages. The other thing I believe could be improved is your tone / attack on the strings. It seems like you dig really hard into the strings; maybe this is an issue with your pickups not being loud enough, or with your DAW or interface, but a lighter touch at higher volumes with help with clarity and speed in some of those more intricate runs. Overall, I really enjoyed this and hope you continue to make more content like this. It is very inspiring to see a fellow bassist on UA-cam doing great work. Hope this finds you well. Have a good one!
Great video. I think there were some songs missing. Like Sassafras Roots, Reject, Homecoming (the bass during East 12th Street is good) & Missing You (bass solo). I like how you didn't just pick songs from a handful of albums, you chose several songs from each album
My favourites ranked (warning: unpopular opinion) 13- Dos 12- 39/Smooth 11- Uno 10- Father of All... 9- Insomniac 8- Tre 7- Dookie 6- 21st Century Breakdown 5- Nimrod 4- American Idiot 3- Kerplunk 2- Revolution Radio 1-Warning
The like one second of panic song is excellent
