Tommy Tedesco played with the LA based The Wrecking Crew. The Wrecking Crew was the band on Elvis’ recording of If I Can Dream from 1968 Comeback Special. The band in the Little Sister clip are: Lead Guitar: James Burton Rhythm Guitar: John Wilkinson Bass: Jerry Scheff Piano: Glen D. Hardin Drums: Ronnie Tutt Acoustic guitar: Charlie Hodge
Elvis’ manager, Tom Parker, had a philosophy that Elvis should not compete with himself. Once Elvis started making movie Parker kept him off the concert tours so the only way for his fans to see him was to go to the movies. The movies were super popular with the fans, at least until 1966 or so because they at least got to see Elvis that way. Elvis did not make any tv appearances between his last Ed Sullivan appearance in January 1957 until the special Singer Presents Elvis, affectionately called 1968 Comeback Special because Elvis finally got to sing live again. As soon as Elvis completed his last movie contract in 1969, the only way fans could see him was in live shows either in Vegas, Tahoo or on tour in US.
His music came from his soul ... he had the greatest respect for his fellow musicians! The guy with the cigarette in his mouth was Charlie Hodge , a man he met during his time in the service , and who became a very close friend and confidant . He actually lived at Graceland . So happy your enjoying Elvis !
Saw Elvis and subbed! Love watching his rehearsals! Hes so funny. Another great rehearsal is Words with the Sweet Inspirations & check out Elvis... King of Kindness & Bruno Kirby story it's pretty awesome! Thanks
Yep, us musicians LOVE to see rehearsal stuff like this ... see what the LEGENDS do. Elvis had immense talent. He would have been a surprise at Woodstock. Would have been a force with his band no doubt. Unfortunately, he had Tom Parker his manager who was helping himself more than he was his client back then.
Larry Weinstein is that you? Have you taken over the page from Leslie West? Did you pay for it? Or are you just like the colonel living off the royalties off a dead mans hard work? Just like the colonel. Time to come clean now Larry. I think we have read your last comment now, haven't we LARRY! I am closing in on you.

Congrats on 10K subscribers! I love the rehearsals! B.B. King actually said he wished Elvis had recorded more blues songs. Here's a quote from him: "We were the original Blues Brothers because that man knew more blues songs than most in the business -- and after some nights it felt like we sang every one of them." Could you react to this one from very early on in Elvis' career when he was 20 years old: Elvis Presley - Milkcow Blues Boogie (2:35).
Cool was just a word to describe weather until Elvis. What a man.
Elvis presley lo mejor de todo

Presley has a good 50 blues tunes in his repertoire...
Oh is that a blond bandmaster I see there
