Canned salmon is great! However, you cannot compare Pink Salmon to Red Salmon. They are two totally different fish with totally different qualities. The flesh of the Pink is pink and the flesh of the Red salmon is the most RED of all salmon and trout. The Red's flesh is also much firmer and has a bigger flake than the Pinks. The diets of the Pink salmon is totally different from the Red's. Comparing Pinks to Reds, is like comparing Skipjack tuna to Mackerel.
@@HardeepSingh-dp8lh No, go for what you prefer. What bothers me about this video is that they play with the consumers knowledge of fish and fish names. "Salmon" are no all the same. "Tuna" are not all the same. Sockeye (aka. Red Salmon) and Pink (aka Humpies) are two totally different species of fish. As far as fish are concerned, it's like comparing an Albacore Tuna to a Bluefin Tuna, both flavor and texture and price. Albacore's flesh is white, and is drier. Bluefin's flesh is a dark red and is much more fatty and MUCH MORE expensive (never sold as canned tuna anymore due to price and demand). Personally, I prefer canned Red salmon over canned Pink salmon, but as the video de mention, the Red salmon is more expensive than the Pinks. Fresh frozen Red salmon is the Japanese market's favorite Salmon.
The bones and skin are very healthy for you and in canned salmon it just turns to powder when you eat it. It’s a great source of calcium. I want it in my canned salmon.
I like the Walmart salmon Chicken Of The Sea 5 oz boneless skinless pink. You don't need a can opener it has a pull open lid. Perfect for traveling. Combine it with Walmart 1 minute Brown Rice single serve and a Rico Single serve cheddar cheese, of course the spices Diced onions and garlic and others. Microwave in a soup bowl and you are eating healthier than any fast food.
Rubensteins, redhead red salmon, double q, crown prince, safecatch, wild planet pink salmon all had positive reviews and the rest negative, very helpful
I Love Canned Salmon I even like the skin & bone and make salmon patties with egg 🥚 and bread crumbs and onions 🧅 and garlic 🧄 pan fried I’ll even buy salmon fillets at Aldi’s
OT: Important is "pink salmon" is chum! Oh wait, there is a different Salmon named chum as well! So confusing, but seriously "Pink Salmon" frozen, is what I get, about $6-$8 per lb. I carefully nuke it (each 4oz portion or so, but usually two at a time) in water to cover it, for about 1 min per side with a minute break in between. If it's seems to be raw still, a 30 second shot, break, and another 30 second shot if needed. I love it with Bob Evans Macaroni and Cheese!!!!! :)
Rubenstein's is all we buy. I tried the Bumblebee is a pouch but won't do that again. Most of these I've never heard of & they're not available in the wilderness of NW CT.
me 2 i bought a whole case ty tho, bout the healthiest salmon u can eat, expensive but worth it improved my labs also by alot HDL highest in my life after eating 3 cans a week :]@@MacGregorLassie
Who did Mashed get to taste test these salmons? Did Mashed just scan through a few reviews for them? Where did they get their information? I need to eat salmon and would like to buy some soon but I'm still in the dark about which one to try.

I never had a sister. Have 2 brother’s one passed away in 2004 age 57 other is 7 years younger than Me. I have a Daughter I’ve never been allowed to know she is 48 years old and so rich and famous I had a Detective tell me I’ll be arrested if I go anywhere near her and he pulled out his rosaries 📿 and prayed that my daughter would come to me before it’s too late She was raised 4,474 miles Northwest of where I live since I was born
Happy to say I already buy wild planet prior to this. Just confirms I have good taste. I have a 200$ bottle of olive oil for sakes just to season my wagyu
I just buy a couple salmon fillets, and dice it up myself and make fresh salmon patties out of that. And I personally would never buy can salmon in which somebody included skin and bones! In my kitchen, those are by products and get flushed down the drain
What is your favorite salmon dish?
Chinook on the grill, smoked Dog salmon (aka chum), Coho Sashimi
Wild Caught Smoked Salmon by Chicken of the sea
Honey Boy Alaskan caught Salmon patties 🎉
What about Natural Catch?
Didn’t she say Wild Planet?
Remember: Pacific and Alaskan salmon is almost always wild. Atlantic salmon is virtually always farmed.
i can't believe i just watched a 10 minute commercial for salmon and i still don't know who the winner is.

Apparently it depends on which color you prefer; pink or red. Double Q isn't bad for the price.
Wild planet won!
Stop smoking weed 😂😂😂😂
So the bones are edible?

Lol😂😂 Thanks for this
sorry you mean always go for pink salmon?

Sockeye salmon always tastes more "salmon-y" than pink salmon. Sockeye salmon was what we always had when I was growing up.

I love canned salmon and I’m not a canned food fan! It’s so good and versatile and much cheaper than fresh! Yum!
Thanks for the info 👍
What I wanna see is a video on canned oysters and clams. I loved the salmon!
Good food is good for good mood. Great demo given by you. Thanks for sharing. 😍

I’ll even buy salmon fillets at Aldi’s
Which canned salmon do you "love" the most?
@@jfh9209 So far, I enjoy Double Q for pink salmon. I'm about to try Bumble Bee red sockeye. I'll come back and let you know how that goes.
@@flowerchild777 The only one I've tried is Wild Planet wild pink unsalted, nothing else added. It was better than I expected for canned salmon.
@@jfh9209 I’ve eaten so many kinds of canned salmon 🍣 with way I make salmon Pattie’s they all come out about the same.
The sockeyed TJ is good! I made salmon patties. Love Trader Joe's Sockeyed Salmon!
Actually the canned Atlantic salmon at Sam’s club is the best in my opinion. It’s actually fillets, in tact, but small fillets. Delicious!

Demmings red sockeye salmon is by far the best canned salmon out of the any of the ones listed. Its pricey though.
What are we even doing here?
Fishy freaks, all of us.
Rubenstein's is all we buy. I tried the Bumblebee is a pouch but won't do that again. Most of these I've never heard of & they're not available in the wilderness of NW CT.
Yes. Rubenstein's red Sockeye- but lately unable to find in stores.
I've got the Kirkland. Zero bones, solid pieces. Not very pink at all.
Deming's Red Sockeye Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon, 14.75 Oz,
Good. The best I have tasted actually.
me 2 i bought a whole case ty tho, bout the healthiest salmon u can eat, expensive but worth it improved my labs also by alot HDL highest in my life after eating 3 cans a week :]@@MacGregorLassie
The best is bumble bees
"VitalChoice" That sounds like a cat food brand... Keep your cat healthy with the VitalChoice
Why tf am i watching this at 1:00am
Me too
i eat double q. i think its the best, what about you guys?

Nice
I have to agree about the Kirkland salmon..It's has bone in it and highly don't recommend it. And Starkist salmon does taste like their tuna.
What happened to Royal Red???
The one from Portugal is the best

Sounds "fishy"!
Double Q only ever!
So most expensive wins again… what else is new

would you feed this to a loved family dog?
The skin has most of the good omega 3 fat in it!!!
Polar is excellent brand
👍
So, which one was the best? I missed it.
