Hello Amy and Kyle. Great video of your trip Evreux - Ouistreham. And thank's for these images of your stop in my village Beaumont le Roger with this break in front of the pastry shop and the church 😉. Merci pour toutes vos vidéos 👍 Au revoir, bon voyage, Merci beaucoup 😉 🇫🇷
I want to say that these 2 'coming home' videos were some of my favorites. I loved seeing the whole gang of characters and the authentic, raw feel from everyone after such an epic ride. Nigel is a riot. I'm guessing he doesn't like being on camera much and probably gives you grief about it, but he's a natural and very quick witted. So glad you found such a great cycling club, and that we get to watch bits of pieces of it.
Well done Amy. Fair play. Can i just say, Kyle is a beast. Many month's ago he was struggling to stay with uou. Now he's riding 1000 miles with panniers. 👍🇮🇪
Your accent, your “yippee”, the Maloney reference - hilarious! 😂😂😂 I felt so bad for you when you were crying from the pain! I bet you can watch that over and over and laugh at yourself!!! Thanks for the pure entertainment!!!
Hi!! another nice vidéo!! Finally it's not a PBP you have made, it's a 0PBP0...(Ouistream PBP Ouistream), you must be close to 1500 km. You are incredible, you always have resources and humour after this challenge. Thank's for this video wichh takes us on a journey with you. Just a question: Wich brand and model of mudguard flap (blue with logo Derby Mercury) that Kyle and his friends use? Can Kyle tell me where it's possible to obtain it? Thank you very much for your immersives videos, to you and your friends. Have nice rides and take care. Bernard Randonneur from Brittany (I live just near CP Tinténiac)
Thanks so much for watching they’re SKS mudflaps our club order them directly with the Derby Merc logos on ☺️ and ahh lovely what a beautiful place to live!
Splendid video and lovely ending to an epic adventure Rest and recover let all those tender bits heal up please Throw that saddle in the bin! Can't wait to see what you are up to next Amy.
I very much enjoyed watching your two videos regarding your ride at PBP. And I enjoyed watching the two videos you posted regarding your bike ride to the ferry that will take you home afterwards. I was also impressed with the time you pulled off, i.e., 72 hours or so. I've never ridden PBP, and I don't really have any desire to do it since I live in the United States. But I have successfully completed three grand brevets, one a year, between 2017 and 2019. The grand brevet I rode in 2017 had me complaining about my raw backside EXACTLY the way you complained in the last 3 videos of the four that I watched. The secret to not beating up your backside during a long ride is twofold. One, you need a saddle that will maximize the number of contact points between you and the saddle. That translates into a wider saddle with much cushion. You especially want your buns to support some of your weight on the saddle. You don't want all of the weight resting on the area between your buns. Don't worry about extra weight such a saddle will have. The more contact points there are, then the less likely any one point will cause excessive pressure and eventually a saddle sore. And two, you need to pull back on the intensity of the ride. The higher the intensity in your ride, then the more excessive pressure you will create between you and the saddle. I'm not suggesting that you pull back so much that the ride is a leisurely jaunt. But pull back some so you are not racing through the ride. If you do these two things you should not be faced with the pain you were complaining about. Keep in mind that pulling back on the intensity might very well cause you to ride slower in the short term. But I'm sure you lost a bunch of time in the later stages of the ride due to saddle sores and the like. If you pace yourself correctly, then you will more than likely finish PBP the next even quicker with much less pain. Good luck!
Pegasus Bridge, I was there, a long time ago, as part of an RE Regt(TA), engaged in the refurbishment of monuments associatied with the Normandy liberation, back in the 1990's. It was a great experience as part of 111 Engr Regt Royal Engineers(TA).
I have absolutely loved watching these PBP videos!! Firstly, hats off to you all, what an adventure and epic distance you’ve covered! No wonder you’re nicky nacky noo’d!!! The French scenery was amazing, such pretty little villages and those boulangeries (however it’s spelt) looked 👌!! Hope you’re resting up and recover quickly. Maybe next video could be a ceremonious burning of the saddle?? 😬
Excellent series of vids, Kyle, aka The Beast, looks like he could do it all again. Bakeries in France, you can't go wrong for choice everything tastes scrumptious.
Impressive end of the ride. Kudos to Kyle being promoted to ride leader. I presume his enthusiasm is based on his keenness to get back to the ironing..😅 Anyway, great effort, but tuna and pizza is as wrong as peanut butter and porridge, but suppose needs must. 👍 Safe travels and wishing you a speedy recovery from your cuts and sores.
Have a look at fabric saddles Amy. (the company, not the material) They are a small English manufacturer. I got myself one after having trouble with the typical thin narrow race saddles on roadbikes.
Haven't tried Santini's bibs but found Assos to be super soft and comfy (albeit pricey - worth it though), deffo my favourite pad. Selle Italia gel flow saddles look great for long distance riding. Saddles and bibs are two things not to scrimp and save on! Hope you recover quickly. Well done on completely a distance I can't even fathom contemplating!
Great ending! Different anatomy etc etc, but I switched to Rapha shorts (not bib-shorts - although obviously they do those to) and I've noticed a huge difference in comfort levels. This after PBP in 2019 where I also rode PBP and there and back from Oxford. At Reading I almost got the train (as I was in so much pain), but treated myself to an ice-cream and rode the final distance back to my door. I've mentioned this to others too and they have also rated Rapha shorts.
What a fantastic and amazing effort -you’re a real star!!!I assume you’ve seen that GCN are looking for new presenters…….? Bath looks like a lovely place to live!

Heads up for an amazing creme to prevent sores I got from running bear in the Peak District. "Slipstream anti chafe". I'm just back from a tour of Wales in the heat wave. Normally suffer sores on a week long tour especially with heat and climbs using the usual chamois creams - but had zero this time using this new creme. Skin even feels better than normal. Only need a small amount and it leaves no white marks. Used on hands and feet too and no sores there! Very impressed. Was recommended it by Katie Kookaburra who also swears by it.

Amy, you need to get some Cavilon to protect your bottom until it heals. I'd thwack a big lump of petroleum jelly on that sucker but it would've all melted through your bibs LOL
Did you see Katie Kookaburra’s latest video with her friend Nicky, who used tattoo numbing cream on the nether regions during trans con. Could be worth a try for future ultra rides. Congratulations on such an epic achievement. Hope you’re feeling more comfortable soon.
