They don't. If you buy an app on a Nexus 7, it won't automatically install on the Nexus 4. The same with music or a movie. If you take a photo, yes you may sync in DropBox, but you depend on a third party UI.
Hey Jaime here. For these videos I use a Sony NEX 5N. Your settings are what make a difference though. You'll need good lighting, Daylight camera settings and set filming to 24fps. Enjoy!
You guys have seriously the best content out of all the tech channels on youtube. This is my favorite segment you guys have going. Keep up the great work gentlemen.
Thank you a million Jaime for this series! I really like it cause it kinda makes sense! Impressions after real usage on daily basis! A million thank you ... keep it up
How so? I'm not a fanboy by any means, I just genuinely want to know what made you prefer the iPhone. I personally liked the ability to change roms and kernels at free will which I couldn't do on the iPhone.
I would agree with you said. As a power user myself who has been through 115+ devices in the last 7 years I would say the iPhone 5 is one of the best phones I have used hands down. Thank you for the review and keep up the great work.
Hey, Jaime, I'd really like to know what applications you use on the iPhone that are not available on the Android, or even the ones you think are better on the iPhone. Thank you!
You're probably missing the fact that currently, that SMALLER device than 75% of the market sells more than any existing Android device, and just a tad less than all of Android combined. Just one phone. Who must be doing it wrong?
Can someone tell me how iPhone 5 feels in the hand? I've tried my friends' 4 & 4S', and they've all felt really weird to hold. It's almost as if it doesn't want to be held.
It feels great, the aluminum body just feels great, but for me, the 4S is much better. Uhm dunno if that matters after 11 years hahaha I just can't resist answering your question.
Finally a good review of the iPhone 5! Positive and negative aspects are really truth and after a cuple months they still make the iPhone 5 the best phone on the market.
I agree on everything, the i5 is just a great device for all around use. And when I combine the fact that I'm also using an ipad mini along side of it, the whole Eco system things just sounds that much better! Great Vid man, glad to see your doing more then pocketnow daily as of late.
Right, but just photos. There's nothing special there. Even Windows Mobile could do that with Microsoft My Phone back in the day. I'm talking about apps, music, etc.
Thanks for the video! I'm more than happy with my iPhone 5, but I don't agree on your color recommendation. I use a black iPhone 5 and haven't got a single scratch since day 1.
Thanks for the reply. I'll probably get the iPad mini as well, since I mostly live in the iOS ecosystem (we'll see) but I've already ordered the Nexus 7 because of its amazing portability. I think it's the ideal size for the kind of use I'll make. Nice to know that you're happy with it, I was kind of worried about the apps. Although the Google apps that I'm using constantly are native and optimised so, I guess I'll be alright.
I agree with you about Sprint, but not about the headphone jack positioning, The iPod has had the headphone jack on the bottom for years and I have no problem using one while working out.
What difference does it make to root a Nexus to a GSIII? You'll still get a powerful phone to tweak. My point is that the GSIII is my Android device of choice.
Jaime, you completely speak my words. All these points were all those which I was posting on UA-cam and people say that I'm biased. Come people should come up with the fact that the iPhone 5 is superior to other smartphones in certain aspects. The quality, the feel is something you cannot avoid. Also, it's the first phone to ship with a Cortex-A15 processor dubbed the Apple A6 which was signed by Steve Jobs in 2008 and it's a custom SoC CPU Dual Core clocked at 1.3 Ghz.
Finallllllllllllllllllllllllllly ,, dude i've been waiting for someone to launch some sort of a similar video that tells u everything about the device after a full month use u got it right , i'm totally with u & i'm so buying the iPhone 5 dude Thanks alot for this amazing Episode
As an owner of a Galaxy Nexus and a Nexus 7, I can tell you that Android lag is not completely gone. It's simply not as polished as iOS. And that's on stock Android.
Had the iPhone 5 for about a month after upgrading from the iPhone 4 and I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I was going to go with Android but a week with the bad quality apps, rubbish battery life and buggy OS made me come back to the iPhone 5. It may be boring and stale but it just works....
You're absolutely correct. My distaste for iOS stems from the fact that they closed their system to innovation rather than work with developers to make the UI more intuitive and flat out sexy. iOS has it's merits, easier learning curve, slick animations, plays nice with other Apple products, but all of these features have pushed Apple to stick to their paradigm of simplicity over functionality. This is the only reason I love Android so much, Google doesn't turn their backs on developers.
Nice Pocketnow, you guys have a lot of nice information about smartphone,im wondering that i can get into your group or member guys haha, but im still a teenager...I think iphone 5 will be my next smartphone
Yeah but if the end result is as good as the iPhone 5 as far as performance goes (and for me, it is) and if you have better multitasking... waht's your point?
If you have sprint it's not recommended to get an iphone 5 as LTE is still very much limited. Also, if you like to place your phone on exercise machine, the headphone jack being on the bottom was a big mistake.
The iPhone 5 is hands down the best phone on the market. It's only competitors are the GS3 and the Lumia 920. Considering I've had three iPhones (4, 4S, and 5), I can say with confidence that the iPhone 5 is the best iPhone ever. Design, Hardware, Software, and aesthetics are all amazing. And durability is much better now as well. For instance, I dropped my iPhone 5 on hardwood floors within the first week. The floor dented but the iPhone didn't have a scratch. All in all, iPhone is the best.
You know, deep inside I know you're right :). But I really wanted to try this thing and its size seems ideal for carrying around. Of course I also have ordered the iPad mini (and I'm selling my 3rd gen iPad) but unfortunately I have no idea when it will be available here (Greece). Something tells me too that I'll be using the mini more, but what the hell, let's try JB as well. It's true though, once you've tried the iOS it's difficult to switch to anything else.
To answer your question: it's a combination of factors. 1) Bluetooth makes the phone more perceptible to "danger". On iOS you won't need a anti-virus program, on Android it's probably a good thing to have one. 2) Apple devices work great together, sharing pictures between any iDevice is a piece of cake. A consumer therefore might be better off purchasing even more Apple products and wallah: that equals a bigger turnover. P.S. don't call me an Apple fanboy, because I have a Galaxy Note 2.
I don't understand if you are agreeing with me or not. The HTC DNA has made a display which has a 33% greater dpi on a 5 inch phone. There is no reason that Samsung won't do that too.
The games aren't as well optimized for the S4 Pro as for the Mali-400, but the performance is very good for every game there is and so it is in benchmarks where the Nexus 4 trumps the iPhone 5. So I don't see what your complaint is and IDK what graphically intensive tasks you might do on a phone???
I don't think you can substitute a gaming console with the iphone... Personally, I have an iPhone 4 and I still don't feel like there's any need to upgrade just yet. However, when I first held an iPhone 5, what surprised me was its light weight.
An even though the iPhone doesn't have bluetooth tranfers built in the are great apps you can download to achieve what you want. iOS is very stable the build Quality of the phone is superb i just fell in love with it.
my only complaints are with pricing and ios, i find it hard to come to terms with either of them however i do like the app store and it's wide variety of apps and games
No, Photos are backed by Google plus and picassa. Music by Google Music, and apps are all automatically synced with you google account. The moment you take an android phone and you put in your gmail credentials, you have all the apps, calendars etc etc restored for you.
I really wish that reviewers/commentators why stop referring to Android as "laggy." It was back in the 2.x days, but since 4.1, it's smoother than iOS, and with real multitasking. Not hating on the iPhone or anything, it's just my opinion.
i have a one x updated to JB, no problems since i updated it... superb build quality, large beautiful screen, no scratch problems, can toss it around with no worries, only thing bugs me out is the audio recording, its not as good as the iphone but no phone is perfect, it has USB OTG, i can put PDF files, docx, flash, and powerpoint presentations in it... i gave my 4s to my sister even after jailbreaking it and installing cydia cause it was just not enough power to it....
how does buying an app in nexus 4 and using it on nexus 7 does not equate to the same situation between an iphone 5 and an ipad ? as well as quite some other points in this re-review , somewhat biased to iphone.
yes u would recommend getting and iPhone 5.. but would u recommend it if you already owned the iPhone 4s. I think not, not enough new from apple to justify that.
I agree with Calvin, go to any trade in site, any iPhone has a trade-in value like a mercedes; they keep their value immensely. I bought my iPhone 4 refurbished for $50 when the 4S came out, I just traded it in for $170.
I've only noticed battery drain from widgets if they update their data using mobile data periodically. Besides that, no lag nor battery consumption differences from 5 screen full of widgets against 1 screen with no widgets (tested on the Galaxy Nexus).
iPhone 5....definitely the fastest phone on the market...I've compared my phone to every other phone and it destroys them at everything! Love the speed and I can't wait for a jailbreak to put all that extra horsepower to good use!
okay, i've been on the fence between a 5 and the GS3 (I have a 4, roommate has a GS3) this made my mind up, my only last qualms were the scratch issue (which i was thinking of getting the white to avoid anyway) and that it wasn't 'much' of an upgrade beyond size. glad to see it's more than just that. my roommate has been trying to get his GS3 to upgrade to jellybean since this morning, keeps crashing and bricking his phone. every iOS upgrade has been smooth as glass for me. gonna stick with em.
No they don't. A cell phone is made for phone calls, they just updated over time and added new convenient stuff. Apps don't make the phone, unless someone would specifically want apps. I have an S3 and I have tons of apps that I love to use that are also on iOS and I really see no difference in them, they both run really well.

This phone brings back memories. Had this bad boy my senior year and a year out of high school.
Class of 13?
Ya
Me too!

So removing the layer between the screen and the glass makes the sensitivity worse? I've heard people say this with the nexus 4 and the iphone 5 now
Hmm after 11 years no likes??? Welp let me fix that😅
Thank you a million Jaime for this series!
I really like it cause it kinda makes sense!
Impressions after real usage on daily basis!
A million thank you ... keep it up

i like these kind of videos! very helpful on choosing the right phone that actually lasts! thanks
what did u choose instead? the black?

Great video! Love after the buzz, great idea and well done :)
I don't know.... I'm still debating weather to change my iPhone 5 for a Galaxy Note 2 or not.. should I?
Yup, as per the Pre3 that I have in my drawer, those were some very laggy cards.
I've loved every second of my experience with the iPhone 5, can't wait to see what Johny Ive will do to the OS now that he's in charge
Right, but just photos. There's nothing special there. Even Windows Mobile could do that with Microsoft My Phone back in the day. I'm talking about apps, music, etc.
IM BUYING THIS ONE.
These after the buzz reviews are really useful.
Thanks for the video! I'm more than happy with my iPhone 5, but I don't agree on your color recommendation. I use a black iPhone 5 and haven't got a single scratch since day 1.
one question please
is there any scratch on it ?!
What phone do you recommend iPhone 5 or htc one x+?
awesome idea of 'after the buzz' keep adding to this series pocketnow :D
guys, Should I buy the Black one or the White ?? am so confused, and I really like them both, but am afraid of scratches... help !!
What is the game in the video where Spider-Man is fighting Dr. Doom?
Thanks for the reply. I'll probably get the iPad mini as well, since I mostly live in the iOS ecosystem (we'll see) but I've already ordered the Nexus 7 because of its amazing portability. nice review keep it up. love you guys work
Can you do an after the buzz on the Optimus G for AT&T?
What difference does it make to root a Nexus to a GSIII? You'll still get a powerful phone to tweak. My point is that the GSIII is my Android device of choice.
I am just confused to purchase iPhone 5 or nexus 4...... Both r amazing phones
its so nice to watch you doing this jaime..........you got to do both pocket now daily and also few reviews
Because Jaime Rivera is probably the only one at Pocketnow actually using an iPhone lol, he always gives them good reviews.
Great video Jaime. You guys are the best!
Jaime, you completely speak my words. All these points were all those which I was posting on UA-cam and people say that I'm biased. Awesome review!!! It's got the same scheme with the "After the Buzz" 1st episode.
Is this comment from 4 years ago? What Android phone did you use after your iPhone 4? The G1?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
my respect for iPhone is still on the top of my heart... Love to have my own iPhone soon.
The iPhone 5 is hands down the best phone on the market. It's only competitors are the GS3 and the Lumia 920. Sony Xperia, can't recall which exact model
what was the marvel game he was playing? i really need to get it.

4:00 is that a reference to android? Because it's not laggy.
Fantastic review. I am a proud owner of iPhone 5 and I too feel the same. It is worth your money.
Love your review.
Very good question i found one small nick on it but it wasn't enough to bother me since I immediately put a case.
To answer your question: it's a combination of factors. 1) Bluetooth makes the phone more perceptible to "danger". I dont own an Android tablet but what I've heard the apps on an Android tablet is mostly just an upscaled phone app, not a redesigned tablet app.
this video alone, makes me SOOOO HAPPY I went w/the S3!
An even though the iPhone doesn't have bluetooth tranfers built in the are great apps you can download to achieve what you want. iOS is very stable the build Quality of the phone is superb i just fell in love with it.
amazing video and review..i enjoy it !
i prefer the white because the glass space is silver and the white color doesn't show the scratches as much as black.
The iPhone 5, Lumia 920 & 8X are my 2012 favorite phones!
Even though iOS might be outdated, it beats any android device with (at least Non-Google) Apps and Games. And in the end, apps make the phone.
my only complaints are with pricing and ios, i find it hard to come to terms with either of them however i do like the app store and it's wide variety of apps and games

Jaime, I really liked this video... You should do more reviews ;)
I'm sorry but Jaime doesn't do After The Buzz justice
how does buying an app in nexus 4 and using it on nexus 7 does not equate to the same situation between an iphone 5 and an ipad ?
as well as quite some other points in this re-review , somewhat biased to iphone.
yes u would recommend getting and iPhone 5.. but would u recommend it if you already owned the iPhone 4s. I think not, not enough new from apple to justify that.
Amen! I sold my iPhone 4 way back when and went Android A LONG Time ago! I now have the Note 2, best phone EVER!

Great review of a great phone. Thanks!
I love my iPhone 5 and i got since its launch. But now im regretful because i bought the black one instead the white one.
BUT I STILL LOVIN´ IT!!!!!!!
iPhone 5....definitely the fastest phone on the market...I've compared my phone to every other phone and it destroys them at everything! Love the speed and I can't wait for a jailbreak to put all that extra horsepower to good use!

I have an S3 and I have tons of apps that I love to use that are also on iOS and I really see no difference in them, they both run really well.
HTC one has never ever lagged. My aunties with iPhone 5s are envious of me and my one. And they should be
DUUUUUUDE! Your voice is so awesome!!
My iPhone 5 is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I was simply loving it with all the ENDLESS applications (ahem android) which can do possibly anything. Although android has many camera features and stuff but the apps for iOS is able to cover most of that. To add on there is the absolute beauty of the iPhone!!!!!
a note 2 is huge. you should go for the s3 its not as big and you dont need it too big.
If you have a note 2 than you should know about the back-to-back sharing option that it has. It can do that will all other NFC-Enabled devices. Just mentioning that. Also, I don't think there's any different way of sharing pictures through iDevices unless you bluetooth or text/send a message/picture/file. Unless you are meaning sending stuff from a Mac to a iPhone, but I bluetooth my macbook pro all the time with my S3 c:
could you guide me how to do that? i just got the 5 and I used to be an android, but now, Iphone all the way!!!
What makes an os is it's apps and android might have catch up on ios but on tablets developers need alot of work and optimization to do and thanks to their amazing work on the iPad we have more than 275k+ apps on an ipad made for it not for a phone and each app offers lots of possibilities way beyond widgets...
Excuse me but if I take a photo with my Galaxy Nexus, it shows up in my Nexus7. It's called: "Instant Upload".
I do think the iPhone wins on the buid quality. Of course each OS has it's perks. I just wanted to leave this correction here.
Thank you
Yes, it can have flash, but who would want it anyway since it drains battery life so quickly. That's why iPhone is so efficient.
iPhone 5 created a buzz? Is that a legend that hasn't been told?
What marvel game is that at 3:29?
I've got the Nexus 4, and if you are thinking of buying the IPhone, give a look at the Nexus as it is something you need to see in real life to appreciate how good, fast and smooth it actually is. There's no contest in my opinion, I tried both but only one has the cool and wow factor. The iPhone was good, but it's not something you want to buy in 2013, as it feels a bit ancient by today's standards.
