Thank you so much for this comment. My hope for these videos was always to be real. I wanted people out there to feel better that their home wasn’t full of clear plastic storage bins and carpet lines. This channel is also called “small steps to big changes” your following my journey to getting my house looking the way I want it, this might not be how others want it. I am working on getting more videos coming out each week so stay tuned 🥰

I’m a lot like you. My 20 year old grandson lives with us, works full time and love him to the moon and back. He knows how to clean, has been taught how to clean and do laundry but gets lazy and leaves cups, laundry, etc on the floor in his room. He does have ADHD and gets easily overwhelmed by it. Once a week I go in and clean it really well and I don’t mind either. His standard of clean and mine are different and he’ll have to deal with that when he has his own apartment. For now, it needs to meet my standards and I don’t mind because I want our home clean. Husbands aren’t always very neat and clean either 😂. Love your videos❤. Yes to the window rejuvenation video, my windows need it too!

@@evastriebel7980 ❤️ see that’s the thing. Like I say in the videos I am choosing to do this for her. This allows her the freedom to not worry about things to much, when at home she should be able to relax. Sure sometimes it drives me crazy but what teen doesn’t drive their parents bonkers once in a while?. I know people are concerned she won’t be a functional adult. Again as I say in the videos, she knows how to do this stuff and when she becomes an adult with her own place then I’ll help her figure it out if needs be. 😊

Ladies cleaning our grown kids’ rooms and messes shows that we are
      1. Controlling and may use theses actions in the future to throw it in their faces; or
      2. We don’t want to let them go…
Both show that you crave love and appreciation.
It’s ok to help them from time to time but it shows that you’re not ready to let go. Your children will either appreciate this, it may cause issues with whoever else they cohabitate, or they’ll never care at all. Simple as that

@@mariacastillo3090 dear Maria, I am 62 years old and already a grandma. Two of my children left my house when they were 18 years old, one when she was 20 years old. So your theorie of "these are children that dont want to leave hotel mama" is not right. I always was working 100% as a teacher for children with special needs, so my kids had to learn very early to wash their clothes, to cook, buy groceries and clean, also beacause I am a single mum, I love it to clean and organize, so when I visit my youngest daughter in Sydney, Australia, I like to help her with cleaning up, doing household things. The same with my oldest daughter that lives in Switzerland.
I think it is not convenient to judge somebody from "far away", you never know about their special circumstances.

I see a lot of myself and my own organization "struggles" in your daughter's room; I've been switching things up, so maybe some of those would help your daughter, too, and, as an extra little bonus, make your cleaning her room easier :)
    1) I noticed that she is making certain piles; like for example, most of the empty plastic bags and bottles were in one space, clothes were condensed to that particular area, etc. When she says that she has nowhere to put her things, it could be because it's not in the areas, she would need it in (those spaces where clutter accumulates). Laundry hampers are a great idea, for both dirty and clean. And just tons of bins and baskets!
    2) For me personally, it has to be fun, too. For example, baskets in colours that I like, decorating my things with stickers (on the hampers for example). But that is something she does by herself, while she's finding out her own decorating style and just by going through life :3
    4) What I really encourage you to do is working with her for this and helping her figure out how her space needs to be put together in order to work for her. Not everyone organizes the same way, some need certain possessions in sight or on display, others want everything to be hidden away in boxes for a clean, and more minimalistic look :) And both are absolutely valid!
Maybe this helps! I really loved your video :) You seem like a kind, warm and lovely person to be around, and the way you narrated this video was very calming to listen to. Also, super motivational to also do some cleaning myself today!

@@katiecommon3614 honestly in her room no I’m not upset by it. It’s her room and I only clean it because I want to. If and when the rest of the house was disrespected like that then yes I would take issue and make her clean up. When he home he also takes her to work and picks her up during the week she takes a bus. But when he was living with me if he had a mess in his room he knew what to do . I only cleaned in there when I was spring cleaning. He was hardly home between school and work. So where you think I was rude to this woman you better regroup. Because it's not her child. Dectate your own child and stop telling another mother she wrong for cleaning her daughters room. No that's being a mom. We still like to take care of them no matter how old they get. Don't tell another parent how to deal with their child. Worry about your own. Mine don't depend on nobody but himself. He knows better. I raised him. Not his father not his uncle's or aunts. I felt less alone, my 19 year old is the same….only with clothes, leaving dishes in her room.
She’s a great/responsible worker outside of the home….not so much AT home!

@@GreatMindsSeekTruth I guess we have different ideas about privacy. And that's okay.
It's not just us watching, people in their own life may well stumble across this, or know about it.
I'm not aiming to be judgemental, it's just if my husband spoke about me that way for instance, it'd feel off to me.
I think in future years we'll all think quite differently about what we share online. 🤷‍♀️
That said, it is what it is, no hate, just doesn't feel right to me, one human. It doesn't have to matter particularly.

Hi new subbie. Enjoy your content. Your daughter’s showing that her issue is with you unfortunately. The fact that she will do it for “daddy” shows her lack of compassion towards the person who loves her probably the most. She knows that you’ll do it so why bother. Do you have talks about her plans for the future or does she just avoids any type of communication with you? I’d like to know how she handles herself around others. Very sad for you.
