Can't thank you enough for these gems Farhan! An effort to identify the accompanists: According to Wikipedia, Pt Chatur Lal played tabla in all the available recordings of Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan. Pt Sheshagiri Hangal might be the tabla accompanist in Vid. Gangubai's recording.
Wonderful presentation...appreciation to your efforts behind this. Lineage of Kirana Gharana cannot be completed without mentioning name of PadmaVibhushan Swarayoginee Dr Prabha Atre 🙏
Actually what frequently happens is you’re Googling something and come across something else that is also cool. I think that’s how I came across Prof Ajit Paintal’s Kirana AIR Tapes.
I recently heard from Mashkoor Ali Khansab that the rounded aakar and bassy voice of Kirana vocalists is due the old school vocalists like Karim Khansab and Wahid Khansab replicating the meend of the Veena. Very interesting indeed. 😅
Roshanara Begum, Gangubai Hangal... 🙏🏻 my goodness what taiyari. No female vocalist are on these 2's level. As for, UAKK, he is simply a God of hindustani music, the moderniser of Khyal. ... And Bhimsen, oh boy... The Lion of kirana.
The timestamps for the renditions are as follows- 1. Introduction by Prof Ajit Singh Paintal: 0:00 2. Abdul Karim Khan, Shuddha Kalyan: 2:30 3. Abdul Karim Khan, Jhinjhoti: 7:00 4. Abdul Wahid Khan, Patdeep: 11:40 5. Abdul Karim Khan, Darbari Kanada on the been: 18:07 6. Hirabai Barodekar, Yaman Kalyan: 22:40 7. Roshan Ara Begum, Maru Bihag: 28:09 8. Sawai Gandharva, Bahar: 38:04 9. Gangubai Hangal, Adana: 42:24 10. Bhimsen Joshi, Abhogi: 48:47 11. Niaz-Fayyaz Ahmed Khan, Malkauns: 54:06
Beautiful! Would have loved if Bhimanna's Miya ki Malhar or Multani was included. I can think of Pt Mevundi as someone who can shine exceptionally in this lineage.

Unfortunately, in all these recordings, the names of the accompanists are not available. It is to the knowledgeable listener that we may look to identify these musicians. It would be nice to know, for instance, who played the tabla for Sawai Gandharva's Bahar 78 rpm, and so forth.
Some of them have been shared by Rajan P Parrikar: 1. Maluha Kedar: www.parrikar.org/vpl/catalogue/hindustani/ganpatrao-behre/ 2. Bihag: www.parrikar.org/music/bihag/behrebuwa_bihag.mp3 Parrikar says, in his Bihag essay, 'Ganpat Ramchandra Behre (1890-1965), a Kirana voice from the past, was a direct disciple of Abdul Karim Khan. Behrebuwa also had for his gurus other luminaries such as Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale, Vazebuwa and Rajab Ali Khan. The clip opens with a propulsive tan bearing the unmistakable stamp of his last-named guru. The compositions are familiar: kaise sukha sove and baaje re mori payala.'

Thanks a lot. I wonder if it would be Ustad Shamsuddin for Khansaheb Abdul Karim Khan’s recordings.
You really deserve a “goldmine” for these data mining efforts and bringing these gems out in the open. Thank you!
Thank you for your encouraging words :) Happy Music Day.

Is this Ustaad Waheed Khan same as guru of Mohd Rafi Sahab??
I used to think so, yes. I think even Lata ji is believed to have trained under him, but I'm not entirely sure.
@@FarhanAmin1994 yes , he is same ustad wahid khan sahib , guru of rafi sahib
