Good episode. Hurting someone who works with their hands is a good way to get information. I also like how Casino says goodnight. Also like Goniff guilty smile at the end
I loved this show when i was a young boy. I couldn't wait for it to come on T.V. They even would sell the playing cards in a pack at the Ben Franklin (remember that place ?). One of the best programs on T.V. To bad it didn't get at least a couple more seasons. 👍👍
The florist is the late Celia Lovsky who played T'Pau in Star Trek TOS, and also appeared in Soylent Green. She was married to Peter Lorre and connected him with Fritz Lang, who directed Lorre in M. Before meeting Lorre in Berlin, she had a relationship with dramatist Arthur Schnitzler.
Selmur Productions, did a good job with Garrison's Gorillas, and especially Combat, even some of the music is the same from the Combat episodes, shame Garrison's Gorillas, didn't have a longer run, these episodes have been entertaining.
@@dindinprivate3477 regardless what you say Garrison's Gorillas is still a great war show no comparison to Combat which I also loved but Garrison's Gorillas is a great war show in It's own right!
A very good episode, with the great character actor Malachi Throne as the artist--one of the things I like about this show, and it's true of "Combat!" as well, is that very regularly extended passages of dialog are spoken in German with no attempt to translate or subtitle, so it's not the actors just speaking English with phony German accents--we have to use our brains a little to get what's going on, instead of being dumbed down to...
Interesting how they can sneak around with all that music playing and not be heard. Good show fi=or its time; should have had another couple of seasons.
Lt. Greg Garrison, U.S.A. was portrayed by Ron Harper. Describe as a military gorilla, Lt. Garrison battled the Nazi foes and their suspicious cold-war enemies.
I remember this show from when it aired in '67, but for some reason I thought the name of it was Operation: Blue Light. Must have been something else, I guess.
@@bobcabo4509 This is more than a little late, but just in case: there was a tv series called Blue Light at about that same time (1966 or '67). It was a spy drama set during WWII, so it would be easy to get it mixed up with GG.
@@tomcrunkleton3177 Never too late, Tom !! Thank you. I'm sure you've cleared that up for me. I remember Operation: Blue Light, but have to memory of GG.
and this village at 11.15 is supposed to be a Dutch village from ww2 ? LOL they really did not do any research on Holland in the late 60's for this film did they ? Neither we had such village building style in the 60's nor during the 40's ! That mill in the first sec of the clip / scene is not to be found here as a mill ! Where is this filmed ? I guess somewhere in Holywood and they made up a ''dutch '' village ? The whole of Holland would laugh at this.. my oh my ... It looks like cheap decor and not even a good one.. They thought we let them see something which looks like a windmill so they will believe it is Holland ? LOL ROFL.. A man with a Dutch name .. de Jong coming from Switserland ?
Yes, they made do with the same back lot used for Combat in California. Most TV shows don't / didn't have budgets for filming in Europe (one exception: part of the first season of Rat Patrol was filmed in Spain). The florist was Celia Lovsky, born in Vienna, Austria, daughter of a well-known Czech composer. GG was one of the last shows with some extended dialog in German (and a bit of French). Actor identifies himself as Peter Jung, not de Jong.
?? Why does this contact and ''partisan'' speaks in German to the Americans in a German accent not in a Dutch accent ? This way I wonder if the partisan and the contact is not German themselves and collaborator of the German army ! I find this way of filming kind of sloppy. We in Holland do not speak German on the streets neither with German accent, yea maybe if we are to speak to a German of course ! .. What a joke ...
Celia Lovsky was from Austria originally. I hate to break it to you but a lot of people in the US are a little hazy about European languages and borders.
rmo52 It’s a Hollywood made TV show. Take it for what it is, entertainment. They use what’s close or available. Most people haven’t a clue to that kind of stuff, nor do they care, WW2 is a hobby like mine. It’s like western where the “6 shooter” in never reloaded and carries 12-15 shots... Rat Patrol crews go on foot with a Thompson with a 30 rd magazine and no spares, yet shoot and shoot and shoot also.
RIP Ron Harper (1933-2024) who played the Leader Lt Garrison
I remember having fun watching it when I was in elementary school. I can't believe that more than 40 years have already passed.
Great movies from the past. Thank you so much, they were great to watch in their day and good now.

I watched this in 1972 Malaysia

I crushed on Brendon Boone & still watch for him. Cesare guest starred in many TV shows -excellent actor as is Rudy. Great cast , never boring.
Wow,Haven't thought of this show in years. Thanks for posting.

Entertaining but comedy too. Not at all comparable to Combat!, a real war series.
@@dindinprivate3477 regardless what you say Garrison's Gorillas is still a great war show no comparison to Combat which I also loved but Garrison's Gorillas is a great war show in It's own right!
Most of the German extras were also on Combat.

Brent Plott I also really appreciated the use of foreign languages in GG and Combat.
A nice thing though is I am from Holland and I understand and speak German also. !
Similar to Rat Patrol and 12 O'clock High!
Throne also played False-Face the Batman villain (the same role that was punctuated by question marks until the outro for the second part).
Thanks for posting
Good is teh best ❤
Interesting how they can sneak around with all that music playing and not be heard. Good show fi=or its time; should have had another couple of seasons.
Why do they all persist at hiding behind shrubs in a machine gun fight?
Not only that, but I didn't know that an MP40 held all that ammo

Neat! Same set as _Combat!_ LoL At least the German uniforms are marginally more authentic.
The extras playing German soldiers were also on Combat.
I've never heard of it just happened too come across it,can anyone CV tell me if it's good.
When the Germans changed the frame, they did not discover the micro film?
Cadê a legenda em português .?
Did they spell Gorilla wrong?
Did the use some of the music from Combat in this ? Music sounds very similar.
Written by Leonard Rosenman who also composed most of the Combat stuff.
too much noise sure that there were sneakers back then
Women in this episode look more '60s than '40s.
+Bill B A common problem with war movies and shows of this era.
Posta em português ou legendado
It's gotten to the point where I know how it'll end: they capture the German officer and he does something dumb which gets him killed. Every time. XD

How about the partisan carrying the Madsen M50 submachine gun, which didn't appear until 1950.

Worst music I have ever heard! Makes it hard to concentrate on the picture and the voices!
