    On the off chance that you’re reading this Mahira, I can’t thank you enough for opening up on your journey with mental health. Depression is a beast, and it helps to know there’s no shame in being vulnerable. Thank you for being a glimmer of hope for so many ❤

      She is not being vulnerable, she has hid a lot and does not show the full picture. Always a victim card with people like this. There is very much so a lot of alcohol and drugs involved in her lifestyle including abuse in partnerships. Her child goes to school with mine and we see it all unfolding. I only wish our celebrities especially the ones who are our representation would be honest to their fan base.

      @@SameeraJunaidI have always felt that she lies a lot in interviews. Hopefully, her son is being raised in a good environment. From what I can gauge from this interview, her child has seen everything since he was 2 years old, which is quite young.

      @@SameeraJunaidI agree with you and your analysis is spot on but this abuse in relationship and drugs doesn’t sit with me. @@SameeraJunaidyou sound like the typical school gossiping mum! maybe your life is so lacklustre that you get high on slagging others! Whether she takes drugs, alcohol or not is not your business, you are not paying for her, and nor her sons upkeep! It’s not easy to be in the lime light and this woman has at least learnt to support herself, and put Pakistani dramas on the radar for those of us not from your culture! What have you ever achieved? This was such a delight! Been wanting to hear MK on a podcast forever! Thank you, Mahira, for sharing your life story and struggle with depression. It was inspiring and fun to hear about your teenage journey and how that honed your work ethics. We know that you usually don't open up on personal struggles, therefore, we understand how hard it is to be vulnerable in front of the world, yet you did it with purity and earnestly. You offered hope and faith to those who are going through depression and may find it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Anti-depressants can have terrible withdrawal symptoms; I wish we could have alternative options to manage our symptoms. As a MK fan and well wisher, it wasn't easy to hear you talk about these things; our heart goes out to you for all those times when you were in pain but put up a brave front in public. You don't stop being kind despite everything you went through and the scrutiny, even when it gets exhausting. And, that's what sets you apart from everyone else, and that's why God has blessed you with so much success because you always wish well and do not hurt others. You are a rare human being! We love you and always pray for you! May Allah SWT make things easy for you, and may you continue entertaining us for years, IA. On a side note, you are a very good storyteller who always looks ethereal and stunning! mA. ☺🌻☺

    I’ve heard Many celebrities talk about mental illnesses & their mental health.. they talk about the dark place , the therapy, which is sort of an umbrella term and when they say it, the word sounds glamorous & elite & that’s it. I get part of why they don’t want to get into the details, maybe it’s triggering to them or maybe they’re afraid of being labelled as unstable. But Mahira has got to be the only celebrity who in my opinion has touched base on how messy & ugly depression is, or how daunting it is to find the right therapist for you and more importantly how the anti depressants affect your mood, and you develop a love-hate relationship with the treatment. She literally named her diagnosis as given to her by her therapist, which I think is super brave. Many people won’t talk about it. This will give strength to those suffering in silence to go out and get help. That it is okay to talk about it with your people. Panic attack/disorder, anxiety, depression are all treatable symptoms and one should never hesitate to take help.
    I’ve been there and I could relate to everything she experienced.

    She’s a sweet woman, and she spoke of some very important issues.
    As someone who was born and raised in the west, her story of working since being a teen is pretty common for us. Most people I know have worked all throughout high school, plus they go to school, keep up their grades to maintain scholarships, play sports….so her story is very common. So it’s not her journey that’s different, it’s just destiny was on her side.
    The statement over not being able to change the way she looks or look different in roles is such a cop out.
    Hopefully my comment won’t be removed as the comments on this podcast look carefully curated. 🤔

And one can totally understand why -she has a lot riding on her … therefore it’s such a brave move. Kudos to her.. hope the outpouring of love and appreciation I am reading here heals her and frees her..
    Amazing woman! the one constant whenever I watch Mahiras interviews is her positivity and good upbringing… bahut naazon aur pyaar se pali hain! Yet she is not selfish or spoilt. That warmth and genuine ness is her most attractive feature and wonderful to witness
    I discovered Mahira when humsafar was airing but became a fan post that seeing her humility and humanity. Used to have so many discussions on her craft and persona on select drama forums constituting of thinking women across the globe.. at times Mahira too would drop in a comment or two .. those were good times- much before the current social media mayhem … it’s good to see how she has not only kept up but moved with the times pioneering innovation and producing good content be it mashion or her PH. Power on M!

    A very engaging and eloquent guest on this podcast I have always been a fan and think Mahira is a wonderful actress and loved all her work but today my respect for her has increased manyfold by such a brutally honest account of life’s ups and downs . I feel she has touched on such an important topic of mental illness which is such a taboo in our culture so talking about it and admitting her struggle with it must have been a relief for so many woman and such a great help in encouraging women to get help and support. What an amazing and kind woman you are Mahira Khan whilst all the time as vulnerable as any woman . I look forward to your involvement in the causes that you mentioned that are dear to your heart You will surely make a difference .

    Hi Mahira sweetie, eveyone suffers from anxiety disorder. At some stage in our daily life, we may face fear or panic. No one can say that it didn't happen to them. It might have not yet, but it will. Do not look at it as a disorder or illness - we were all created to love, hate, fear, panic, be scared - its natural behaviour. You are so beautiful, talented, blessed - just be shukar ghuzar to Allah talah. "Ignore negative people, you worked hard for your success - not a nepotism case. Take negativity with a grain of salt". There's more people that love you than hate you. Lots of love from South Africa.

    I went to Foundation Public School where some of the names mentioned were seniors and their siblings were class fellows. I cannot emphasize this enough how clear the class difference was in those schools. I'm surprised not many ppl talk about this probably b/c people from those schools (FPS and KGS) and circles are never comfortable discussing it. I came from a financial background unlike majority of the ppl who studied at FPS. It's a different world and they have their own bubbles and they navigate only within those bubbles, glad I left that place and school. Most of these people came from good socio-economic backgrounds lol. I'm sorry but I could never relate to those people on any level and still cannot. Every person in the world works hard, it isn't exclusive to one person, whether it's the cleaning industry or retail or anything amd a majority of ppl do this when they leave Pakistan. I think it was probably a shocker for those who went to FPS or KGS 🙄 پتہ نہیں صرف ایک narrative کیوں ہے۔ 😅

      @mulberrymugwump2920 Рік тому +3

      Hello, I can completely relate. I went to lyceum and noticed this myself. You have to live in a certain area to have this many friends, because they all live in the same areas.
      The reason why she has all those friends is because they're family backgrounds are the same. Hard for a commoner to penetrate with middle class parents.

    • @HS-hi6wc
      @HS-hi6wc Рік тому +3

      @@mulberrymugwump2920 Exactly, Lyceum was a whole other league and I remember how diff their lives were. I didn't expect anyone to comment on this b/c it's almost like nobody wants to talk about the backgrounds where ppl dominated these schools and opportunities. I came from a family where these schools were not the norm. You're right that they mostly navigate in their own social and area circles. They need to stop selling this stupid illusion they've created and they rarely realise that washing dishes and stacking bottles isnt the end of the world lol. Who you know and how you know them matters a lot in these Pakistani "cliques" and can get people a step ahead in life. All the names she took, anyone who went to these schools know these names. They all have businesses in Khi and elsewhere and are settled in "well off parts of Pakistan" or abroad. I studied with some of these ppls siblings from grade 1- 8 and honestly nobody was ever bothered to keep friendships beyond their socio-economic circle, it's the truth. It was a relief that I moved away or else I'd have a warped view of the world.
