  • This is our review of the Tivdio V-115, which is a great travel radio that you can get for under $20 in the U.S. that also lets you record airchecks to a microSD card while you're on the go.
In summary here are the pros and cons of the Tivdio V-115.
    Pros:
    • Very compact and portable
    • Receives AM, FM and Shortwave
    • Digital tuning with DSP
    • Fantastic speaker sound for a small radio
    • Records radio to MP3 on microSD cards
    • Will function like an MP3 player with better speaker sound than most smartphones
    •Rechargeable battery, powered by USB
    • Sleep timer
    Cons:
    • Headphone sound is sub-par and doesn't work with smartphone headphones that have an integrated microphone
    • Buttons are stiff and make a loud click when pressed
    • Only the strongest shortwave stations come in with the short built-in antenna

I bought this radio this month (Sept 2020, for around $25 usd, just missed a flash deal) and note that it now has the name "Retekess V115". Lots of reviews over the last several years, under both names, largely positive. I only have a problem assigning a station to a key, but as IMO there is very little local radio worth listening to these days, that's okay. I can leave each band (MW or AM and FM) on a single likeable station and I'm happy. Mainly I'll be able to use this small, light-weight MP3 player when I'm out exercising and maybe also use the record function from time to time.

The V115 receiver, is very insensitive on the shortwave band.
To overcome this I added an external JFET RF preamp.
    The story is here: @t

I bought two on black Friday for $14 each. Great little radio. Makes a good emergency radio because the battery lasts very long.

I've had this little beast for about 3 years now. Listening from Australia. It is a fantastic device with awesome speaker sound. Unfortunately I did get this for shortwave and I haven't found any stations. Was primarily trying to find number stations but without any luck. I'm in a rural area so even fm is kinda very hard to get so I'll have to settle for mp3.
Great review on a fantastic little radio.

You can't search for stations without a rotary dial. Too much bandwidth to cover in shortwave and even in mediumwave is tedious to use buttons. You could have demonstrated shortwave reception with recording from the line out and interference from the radio itself since it has digital stuff in it. And what frequency range it can cover.

You mentioned pushing the headphone jack in halfway-this happens to me excatly. What type of headphone specifically works (stereo didn't result in a good google), or what type port should I look for? -I think you mentioned don't use one with 3 ridges? Thanks!

Этот Kaimeda играет без аккумулятора через USB как Audiomax_SRW-710S? Воспроизводит звук с компа? (копм определяет приёмник как внешнее звуковое устройство?)

There is no internal memory. An SD card formatted with FAT32 is needed. Larger cards seem to work with it. One downside of this radio is there no way to fast-forward lengthy files. Fast-forward is super slow.
