While the exterior and most of the rooms that were left in their original states were gorgeous, the renovated spaces looked absolutely ghastly! I just hope that whomsoever purchases (or has purchased) this home treats it with the care and respect it clearly deserves.
What is really sad, is all the beautiful homes, chateaus or castles in France that I've seen that are for sale have been stripped of all their grander. The home is not just sold empty without furnishings, but without it's rich history and beautiful details. The exception is the dining room. So many homes are beautiful on the outside, but once you see inside it truly is sad. Saying all this, I do think it is a beautiful chateau. With great effort in being restored it would be as breathtaking as the exterior is.
L.L. B luckily they didn’t finish restoring some rooms can still be saved from the massacre))) on the other hand you can’t ask much for the price it’s offered. One could hardly afford more than 100sqm in Paris for the same amount of money
Me too. I feel very annoyed when I look at a beautiful structure outside and then all the ornate panelling and frenchy interior is all tossed somewhere out of the house and paint a random ugly colour on a plain wall and a random unmatching wallpaper and hideous furniture. I understand the furniture part tho, but why bother to ruin the beautiful old structure of the house?!
The drab contemporary furnishings would look shabby in your basic suburban tract house. In a chateau they are appalling. The camera keeps going back to the pool as if that is the primary selling feature. Anyone can put in a pool. Why buy a chateau if you are going to furnish it with furniture from IKEA and your basic Office Max. I am so sad that this dignified property has come to this.
Beautiful château truly stunning, filled with IKEA furniture what the heck is going on?!? “Shower Rooms”? Makeshift bathrooms without any kind of tiles… Instead large plastic showers you would find on the inside of a camper hooked onto the back of your four-wheel-drive pick up truck. Sorry but, that’s a NO!
Nice to see a lot of the original architectural elements--both inside and out. I did have to put the video on mute in order to finish watching it. The music was dreadful and actually did an injustice to this video and the chateau.
Honestly they should have emptied the rooms of the low grade furniture and strip the terrible wallpaper before doing the video. It would be a lot more appealing to look at.
It's a beautiful Chateau, however the proximity of the single-family homes makes it very undesirable, the fantasy with owning one of these magnificent homes is the vast amounts of land and rolling hills surrounding them, remove that element and all you have is a very pretty old mac-mansion.
But we have around 200 Chateaux listed in our 15000 other properties in France here : www.frenchestateagents.com/ Sure you will find the perfect one in our stocks.
I agree on that... but as a house or chateau is always sold empty ( except if you have a special deal with the vendor concerning the furnitures ) you can then re-arrange it up to your taste. And anyway, that Château needs renovation on half of it ( basically the 2nd floor ). Thanks for your comment.
Has potential, needs some TLC, and needless to say, to get rid of all the dreadful furniture...as it is, it looks like a cheap hostel....thanks for uploading the video....
I've seen a lot of chateaus that look too modernized inside. Maybe it's just me but I don't see the point in paying all that money for a beautiful, historic home, just to put a ping pong table and ugly Ikea-looking furniture in it.
I agree on the furnitures, but You are close to Bordeaux, maybe the most dynamic & attractive city of France right now... and 2mn away from the center of a beautiful town with restaurants & everything, in the middle of famous vineyards, so potentially a touristic business opportunity and on top of that you are just a few kms away from the Ocean, check my video of the sort of villages & costal beaches you can find close to this place : ua-cam.com/video/enDiJp6ZW2Q/v-deo.html If it was all refurnished and immaculate you probably would have to triple the price. Everything has a price you know. Now it's not forbidden to put a ( realistic) offer in you know... and see what happens. By the way, when you buy a house, generally it is sold without furnitures so you can install whatever you want in it. To me the important thing is that the structure, roofs, wood parts are in really good conditions, floors as well, so it would be easy to modernize it. I've renovated 3 houses from scratch in Dordogne ( not far from that place), believe me the before / after can be spectacular. Cyril - Photographer.

Bordeaux is probably one of the most beautiful city in France, the city is absolutely amazing and beautiful, one of the most dynamic in terms of economy, the prices have risen like mad during the last 10 years, the developement of the city & around is just crazy, some apartments are sold in a few hours within the city... and I personnally know many investors who are rushing there to buy almost anything. A money pit. Unfortunately, my pockets are not deep enough, but I would love to be able to take on a place like this and restore its grandeur. I would also love to recreate the gardens around it.

I mute the sound
I like the house, especially the tower.
the village is too close from the castle so no music no reception and inside everything need to be change but outside it's perfect !!!
This house would look better empty . This is the one case where furnishing it won’t work to help sell .
First song was awesome!
Beautiful chateau. If I could afford to buy it, I would have designer Timothy Corrigan come do up the place.
This once glorious place reduced to a tacky dive! Shame

Too much stone wall inside I’d have some rendered over.
It has potential though if revamped right .
