To me these ARE real gardens! I find a lot of garden makeover programmes nowadays make the gardens into outside "rooms", very modern and crammed with hard landscaping, furniture etc. and don't look natural. I'm really glad Monty changed his mind on ponds as his Longmeadow one is spectacular. I can't remember whether I ever watched these series but am enjoying the programmes a lot; thank you for uploading them.
Hello Sue thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
Thank you for posting these! Funny how Monty has changed his mind on ponds.
I had the same observation ... He also said in an earlier episode that he doesn't like no dig gardening ... It's fun and wonderful to see how his thinking has evolved !
I had the same thought while I was watching.
It is funny- I am listening to his book on audible.ca and he says every garden needs to have waterfeature for the wildlife
@@shilpapatel5 I heard that too🤣. I've often wondered why he doesn't do know dig since he's so into the environment. To me it feels right, but if you look at Charles' no dig/dig experimental beds they aren't much different.
I was thinking the same thing. He clearly took his idea of leaving the muck at the side of the pond so the critters can crawl out from her too.
I would be happy simply trailing around and learning from Briony, she is astounding.
Hello Claudia thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
Hated the actual layout of the boardwalk and once again Bryony is amazing with her pure passion and joy of the garden.
The boardwalk while useful was not nice. Don't think that the wife liked it either. I would rather have used large stones and gravel to lay out the path.
I wish more programs like this were made. It inspires me to get out and finish my half done garden projects! :)
Yay! More Monty that I've never seen before! Exactly what is needed at the beginning of February, when it's still cold and frozen outside, and planting and growing time seems so far away...
Love these episodes. Briony is quite a worker with a keen eye. I'd like to see all of her projects.
So green! It would be wonderful to have so much moisture and moist soil.
Now we know from whom Monty gained his pond knowledge. 😀

I'm just another member of the Bryony fan club. It's pretty amazing to watch her school Monty Don.
Hello Holden thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
I am so grateful for these.
Hello Jeanne thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
If it is possible I would like to see Bryony Jacklin's garden today - the garden featured on this show or others. The ideas and concepts that she incorporated are so very impressive and just simply beautiful. I am currently waiting for her to respond to my Instagram request.
The below comment took the words right out of my mouth re Monty's remarks about ponds. How times have changed! 😊

Good morning, My Friend. Thanks for the nice share. 😊😊🇨🇦
I was fascinated by the plant that they are digging into the edge of the pond: phragmites! I live in Ontario, Canada. Here, phragmites are invasive and a serious problem because they displace our native bullrushes. Also, they are so dense that they make it difficult for our waterfowl to get from the water to the land. So interesting that in one geographical location a plant is exactly what is needed and in another, it is a disaster.
Bryony should have gone to be a Gardeners’ World Presenter...
Boardwalks looks best laid HORIZANTAL as the man said. Lengthwise looks like ground scaffold. It matters. Don't cheapen it.
wonder how long it took them to change it?! lol
I know it looked absolutely awful. I spend all day working on scaffolding, I'd hate to come home and see it in the garden.
I do have to agree sadly, I feel like that boardwalk is going to age poorly.
Briony may have influenced Monty a bit...he certainly has changed his thoughts on ponds since this series was made, if the pond at Long Meadow is any indication. Water is so calming in a garden, and of course, the wildlife a pond brings is worth the maintenance every time.
@Cesar Byron no nobody gives a dam
A wildlife pond truly elevates a garden.
Magical in the mornings
Monty and Briony have definitely got a thing going on, the chemistry is thick
Thank you!

Bryony could have her own gardening show no problem. Such a beautiful plot of land, and so many lovely ideas she has. I'd tune in. Does anyone know if she may have a youtube channel?
Monty: "I'm not anti nymph."😆🤣😂

I was so excited to see this appear - we may get to see the whole set of gardens from start to finish. I am also from Ontario (Shelburne), and this is just what is needed to get us through the tough months to come (hopefully Wiarton Willy the Groundhog was correct!)
Hello Susan thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
OMG where did they get her from? That board walk looks awful and in a few years it will sink and become a health hazard! Talk about a quick and cheap solution for the cameras. Poor couple will need to change it shortly afterwards! At least the second veg bed wattle was done with a spirit level by the girls dad. If your gonna do someone's garden, do it bloody properly instead of cutting corners!
Hello Haidee thanks for your comments and support I really do❤️
She did a terrible job on their garden. The parts I like were the parts that the couple did. The bench at the top of the garden. To bad that this show was filmed in 1999 to 2002(3). I think
Oh my, how much younger does everyone look? They must have found a time machine. lol
'We shan't be back next week as you're getting a double dose of Brookside'. Oh, weren't we spoilt!!!!!
Terrible muddy garden! GOOD LUCK!
