Thanks for the info. I'm realizing now that I've probably been using a stick that's too long my whole life lol Almost pulled the trigger on Adrian back in '13 but went out west. Great vid!
@@GoalCreaseGuardian what size are you using now.. 25? You find to have a more active blocker with the shorter sticks? I've been using a 26 eflex foam core thats shaved down.. its heavy. Lol
@@alyssam3125 I am now using a 25" Warrior that I have rounded the paddle off on. I find I have a slightly more active blocker and better stick. A 26" foam core will get heavy really quick! lol
@@GoalCreaseGuardian great, I appreciate the response! Guess I'll have to start tinkering with some shorter paddles, its a tricky position at 5'6! I'll be enjoying some of your game analysis vids later. Cheers!
3/8ths is pretty crazy, makes more sense how you can get so low in your stance. I personally like a 1/2 sharpening so that I can shuffle with ease and stay right with the shooter on my feet, but to each their own! Great vid
Thank you! It definitely helps me to get really low, but I also feel it allows for really explosive pushes. Plus, I've been using it for long enough now that I've become incredibly accustomed to shuffling with blades that sharp which is always helpful
Great video Matt! Cool to see all the different gear you wear and hear you explain why you wear it the way you do. Glad your enjoying the new chest. I recently upgraded to a Passau pro pack and I really like it alot. Thanks for sharing your in the bag video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! The Passau pro pack is super nice, but it was time for something new. I had a ton of fun making this one, makes me want to make more videos like this!
Great video. I just recently switched from a Premier 1.9 setup to Vaughn SLR2 legs and I’m in the process of breaking in a Bauer Supreme 3S glove (matching blocker coming soon). Maybe you could do a video on how you typically like to break in a glove? I’ve watched a ton of videos and I just like to get everyone’s input on how they do it.
I might be able to do that one! It's interesting because I am not really crazy about breaking in gear. I get my gloves game ready and typically just play with them as is, maybe work them in with my hands when I'm bored, but that's it!
Where'd you get the Evo wrist guards and what size did you get? Also can you do a comparison video on the Passau and Optik 2 chest? I'm debating on which 1 to get.
I bought the Evo wrist guards at a random sporting goods store where I went to college. I think you can find them at most places you would find baseball gear. I can try to do a comparison video of the two! That seems like a great idea!
Hey Matt, great in the bag vid!! I watched last night while cooking, but had to watch it again so I could focus!! I also just recently started skipping the boot straps and love it! I was very surprised about the fact that you like tight leg pads... I've gotten used to the loose feel. I find I don't end up on the face of my pads on accident much anymore that way. As far as numbers... I started out with 99 (my HS grad year and fav #) but took a lot of flack from mostly Canadian viewers lol! I like repeating numbers, so 33 was my choice with the Ave Joe's. With what recently happened, it'll probably be my number for life!! Love your color scheme on your pads, but I have one suggestion... don't u think some yellow skate lace would look sick on that double T? Maybe float it? Dennis Dombrowski (FactoryMAD) did a fantastic job with my glove, and he's not that far from you (Metamora). Also, the bucket is sick!! I love that mix/mash of the Star Wars and Avengers symbol!! Great stuff!!
I love the tight pads, they still rotate super well for me actually, and I don't end up on the face of my pads at all so it's just one of those things that I've grown super accustomed to! A bit of yellow lacing would be pretty cool on the glove actually. I did black because I tend to prefer having a "full black" effect on the back of my pads/gloves just for the aesthetic. Though maybe I will get that done one of these days by my buddy who does that stuff! I knew Dave when he was still at Vaughn, but I've got a good friend who does repairs/mods too. The helmet is one of my favorite things, I can't wait to get a new one I have an unreal Star Wars design planned
I don't actually. I have thought about doing it but for one reason or another never taken the plunge. So instead I just sharpen them at 3/8" and call it a day
Gotcha.....I was surprised to hear the bands on the back of your mask. I don't think this is widely known but Spencer Charnas (Ice Nine Kills founder) grew up north of Boston playing goalie with Cory Schneider (currently w/ Islanders?) and Beau Bokan of Bless The Fall is an avid skater as well. Couple years ago he showed up at a rink in Austin Texas while I was playing a shinny. He can rip it. haha
@@grantnewsted7754 I knew about Beau of Blessthefall, I've actually tweeted at him trying to get him to skate before when he's been in town lol I din't know about Spencer though! That's actually really awesome!
Yes! I love the super tight leg channel! My favorite leg channel since playing in larcenys back in high school
I love it! There aren't very many of us out there using it anymore, that's for sure!
Charizard....seriously!? JJ....I’m more Snorlax! Great vid!
Lol! Big Charizard guy here, though I feel more like Snorlax most days
Especially w pandemic.
Nice. Was waiting for this!
Me too!
Glad to finally deliver!

Hey man can you do a video of how you carve the stick if you do ut
I can try to! I think I have another stick or two that I could use to show the process
I'm just sad the new chestie doesn't come in black white + sport gold. Take a can of spray paint to it, maybe?
I was disappointed too! But I want to change team colors soon enough anyways lol
Has anyone done plasti dip on a chestie? lol
Do a video on how the medium size chest fits you and how they fit with your pants
