To relate to this guy's brief back story which left a lot to be told and had me reeled in from the get go, I'd like to share a personal experience of mine that happened today that had a profound affect on me. Also noting that this song will forever hold a certain place in my heart from here on. To those willing to read the rest of this ill thank you in advance.
So I guess where I'll start is how I discovered this song and that came from Pandora radio the other day after I recently acquired a canoe and got lost in the woods on a local river with a cooler of beer. Felt like a kid on Christmas and I was completely alone in nature just absolutely vibing to good tunes and this one came on and I couldn't hit the like button quick enough within the first 60 seconds. Well, when I discover a good song, I like to share it with someone close and for whatever reason I felt compelled to send it to my mom via the share option from Pandora radio right? So she responds with, "so I have to download the app to listen to this song?"
I said, "I don't know mom just UA-cam it" lol she's almost 70 I'm 37.
So she gets back with me about 10 minutes later and says this word for word...
"At least watching this video I know the back story. Kind of dark but my ass WOULD BE LOOKING. You're my kid and I'm yer mamma I would die looking." Absolute word for word.
(Note, there has been multiple people to drown in this river in log jams or what have you including people extremely familiar with the river and the area)
Where here's where it all relates. When I got the canoe I sent her pictures of my view from the water to let her know about my new toy I got right? She says, you be careful out there I worry about you. I said mom I know but I'm fine it's average 2 feet of water and I'm a strong swimmer.
So to get to the further and final point, the reason for her concern about me getting lost in the woods alone with my thoughts is because when I was 21 years old, my father committed suicide by hanging himself in the woods from a tree within eye shot of my grandma's (his mom's) window of her assisted living retirement home.
I know that was an abrupt and heavy ending to that story but I just wanted to share my story real quick to complete strangers because this song touched me to the core of my being because I didn't know the brief back story to this song until she sent me the UA-cam link for this version which made me realize why she said what she said after she watched this. I want to send a special thanks to the artist for making such a great song with an intriguing story behind it that I'd love to hear the rest of.

Wife and I saw Jackson and his band in Tacoma, just a great time. We had a short talk with the bass player, what a fun guy. Just the best! Great show.

I come back to this video becuz it brings so many memories back to me with my Mom and even my Dad. They are both in Heaven and they are together loving each other through out eternity! Thank you Jackson Dean and Lord! Mom hope u are swooping it up there. Dad can’t say lol what we said, lol!

Thank you Mom passed in 2007 Dad in 2016. When ya have a fun relationship with your parents when u are grown I believe more memories!!
