Hi 12-op, I own a dx7ii fd, just bough it after watched your dx7ii fd videos. I just red your comment on the Yamaha v50. I own it and it’s a fantastic synth. I had created quite few sound patches with it like pipe organ and a stereo piano performance patch that sound very good.
Hey! Yes indeed, even/odd mode. And still some of the thick performances only have 4-voice poly! I am toying with designing a midi setup in logic which would do a better job of distributing notes. Even/odd was good for the 80s but has limitations.
It's fun to have the extra polyphony, even though it's not perfect. I'm on the look for a V50. Hard to find in the USA... I want to try the real 16-voice polyphony.
Loads of great usable sounds on this one MetalClav, SynthPtitz, JunoBass, and MutedPik are some of my favs and you had me smiling at [8:22] and 9:32]
It's funny, I think that horn was actually a DX sound. I had something nearly identical to it...BC Horn maybe?

Thanks! Enjoy your DX!
I tried to purchase these sounds but it seens like the link has dissapeared?
Try reaching out to Bob at Greytsounds and see if he'll report them on eBay.
Nice demo as always :-) Are you using the two TX81Z’s chained together to play odd and even notes between them?

12-op I’m thinking about picking up a TX81Z to do that with my DX11. I recently picked up an old Yamaha MEP4 which can do some nifty MIDI routing.
