@@cwitmer1964 i’m in the minority I know but I’m sorry Jewel. She’s OK now if you want a good soloist look at Leah Michelle or heck even Mariah Carey I’ll give her that or a good group. Option would be Celtic woman. They do really good with it.
Beautiful young lady...beautiful voice and beautiful version of this song ...which is the TRUE meaning of Christmas...a young lady that has never forgot were she came from ...or her humble beginnings..just using her God given talent ...to raise her voice in praise to Him ❤❤
beautifully done - hit the high notes perfectly...wow...I didn't expect this...smooth as silk...soft...as her name says it all...a jewel of a singer and a cherished track....a keeper....
I've only recently become a fan of Jewel, mostly since she started going in the direction of Country music and started showing up on CMT (I just never heard any of her music before then), but I'm going to have to go back and listen to her other stuff too. She's just a phenomenal singer, and the way she grew up really impresses me too (and makes me a little jealous). This is my all time favorite version of this song, and her performance of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra was amazing and definitely the best performance of that song I've ever heard!
This is a beautiful rendition. I saw Jewel live in 1999 when I was nine years old with my dad. I remember she yodeled at the start of the show. Still love her to this day.
yes! that is what irks me with other artists' renditions of this song. when you sing it the way it is written, the fluctuation and range between notes is powerful - when the singer tries to showcase their ability by throwing in all kind of voice modulation, however impressive and talented they may be, the true notes lose their impact.
Jewel is indeed a talent. A great voice, a good actress, as well. What's puzzling is the leather pants.....? Well, aside from that....have a wonderful Christmas. And Happy Birthday, Jesus!
When I heard this rendition it became one of my favorite Christmas songs I’ve ever heard. Her voice was angelic in this take for sure! But why do we never hear it on radio or in any Christmas special?
I love this rendition of this carol. Her singing of this is just...etherial. I'm not much of a musical person, but the range of Jewel's talents is just sublime. Pop, country...yodeling (saw her in a concert; I didn't think a human larynx was capable of what she yodeled)...and, whenever I hear her Oh Holy Night rendition, I'm lead to believe she'd be an excellent classical and opera singer as well. Just awesome.
So during Christmas, I often go on a vision quest for the best O Holy Night. Like I would seek the perfect rib eye steak or glass of wine...they mostly are all good; however, sometimes you stumble upon something so beautiful, that encompasses your quest in realization why you set upon your quest in the first place. This version here is that for me. She is humble, sexy, and talented at a world class level.
Every Christmas Eve I come back here and listen to it because this is way and the right voice to sing this song. If you’re reading this I wish you a merry xmas, wherever you are please stay safe and wear a mask!
Hark the herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King! Peace on earth and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled" Joyful, all ye nations rise Join the triumph of the skies With the angelic host proclaim: "Christ is born in Bethlehem" Hark! The herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King!" Christ by highest heav'n adored Christ the everlasting Lord! Late in time behold Him come Offspring of a Virgin's womb Veiled in flesh the Godhead see Hail the incarnate Deity Pleased as man with man to dwell Jesus, our Emmanuel Hark! The herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King!" Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings Ris'n with healing in His wings Mild He lays His glory by Born that man no more may die Born to raise the sons of earth Born to give them second birth Hark! The herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King!"
very nice I just tried it now covering the special song, its my favo too..she seems a lil bit seskyYyYyYy! but sings very well without ny R&B changes or improvisations merry christmas
In my opinion, Jewel does the best rendition of O Holy Night ever!
I agree.
I agree
You option is correct here! Jewels voice is purely beautiful with this song.
@@cwitmer1964 i’m in the minority I know but I’m sorry Jewel. She’s OK now if you want a good soloist look at Leah Michelle or heck even Mariah Carey I’ll give her that or a good group. Option would be Celtic woman. They do really good with it.
💯
Beautiful young lady...beautiful voice and beautiful version of this song ...which is the TRUE meaning of Christmas...a young lady that has never forgot were she came from ...or her humble beginnings..just using her God given talent ...to raise her voice in praise to Him ❤❤
Seeing Jewel do this live a few years ago was so special. I cried as I listened. So beautiful.
How can anybody gives this a 'thumbs down'...??? Jewel is an American treasure.
Simple and subtle, no overdoing it, but still had emotion. In another words my new favorite version. Perfection.
Im in awe of this version and her voice. Her Christmas album is life changing 🎄🎄10/16/2020
Agreed.
what a Holy Night it was when God became human, to save us from our sins... praise the Lord Jesus Christ... she is truly a Jewel :)
AMEN
I absolutely love Jewel’s rendition of Ave Maria! I play it when I need to feel a connection to our Blessed Mother.
No embellishment, yet full of color and beauty
Jewel is one of the most beautiful women and spirits on the the planet. Boy, I would just love to give her the biggest hug.
At Christmas we encounter God through the birth of Christ. We share the joy of giving, the love of family, and the bond of faith.
My favorite Christmas song and my favorite rendition of it. She makes it magical.
Oh Holy Night captures the feeling of the stillness of Christmas Eve in the early morning.
beautifully done - hit the high notes perfectly...wow...I didn't expect this...smooth as silk...soft...as her name says it all...a jewel of a singer and a cherished track....a keeper....
One of the very best Xmas albums of our time
Still the best version of this song. Merry Christmas from England!
I loved singing on this project...this session was really a special day with Arif Mardin and other greatness
Jewel's Christmas album is my favorite, year after year after year.
That album doesn't get any hype at all. It's very classy & skilled, but instead dum dum albums are put forth as "classics".....sad.
OMG! I remember watching this Christmas special. It aired on TV in the late 90s. Wow. I’ve been looking for these clips for years.
Jesus, Jewel, your voice is truly angelic.
Thank you Jewel for these beautifully
Sung Christmas songs ❤
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for singing this for us.
She's absolutely amazing. The musicians are amazing. This is my favorite Christmas song.
She is incredible, those high notes send shivers right through me, thank you Jewel. Thisperformance is so close to the CD version too, pure art!
Still loving this 12/18/2021❤️🙏🌲
I'm moved to tears
Me too

If this video/performance is 16yrs old, i would’ve been 24
I forgot that Jewel could really sing & how her voice was so unique
Wow
What a great voice Jewel has. It's fun to see her on tv when she is home in Alaska
Jewel you have the most beautiful angelic voice I have ever heard you give me goose bumps and make me cry.
Me too
Good to see a performer who realizes this song doesn't need to be "over-performed" or yelled.
There is something about Jewel that I am so in love with.
+David McClelland That makes two of us.
that she's hot?
lol
yeah, that's it
+David McClelland Beautiful, down-to-earth, extremely talented? Not to mention an angelic and mesmerizing singing voice .....
absolutely love jewel, seen her in concert 4 times ...my favorite female singer😀
I have heard so many performances of "o holy night ", and in my opinion Jewel is the best. Her voice sounds so pure. Unbelievable beatiful!
This is a beautiful rendition. I saw Jewel live in 1999 when I was nine years old with my dad. I remember she yodeled at the start of the show. Still love her to this day.
I am going to buy her Christmas Album! this was great!
Beautiful rendition of the song, love it so much
I love this Christmas song and of three amazing ladies l listened to she had to be my favorite. only it wasn't long enough
I am back on 10/24/20 loving and enjoying this so much!
WOW from Alaska to this !!! Love her voice and talent. gigi
She sounds like an angel
My favorite version, mainly because she doesn't try to turn it into an R&B song. Way too many pop stars doing Christmas songs try to do that now days.
Beautiful voice ! Thank u❤🎶
Soooo beautiful...Jewel is a true artist. She lets the song speak for itself, instead of making it all about her. Thank you for posting!
yes! that is what irks me with other artists' renditions of this song. when you sing it the way it is written, the fluctuation and range between notes is powerful - when the singer tries to showcase their ability by throwing in all kind of voice modulation, however impressive and talented they may be, the true notes lose their impact.
The entire song loses its impact when a singer thinks they're greater than the song. :-( Less is more!
she's beautiful and sings like an angel
+bearcat54
She is angel.
+THAD DILLON
She is an angel.
Beautiful song and job especially for this most Holy day our Savior was born! A lady sang this at the Christmas Eve service last night too!
Hands down the most angelic version of this song.
*goosebumps*
I don't know how I missed this one in my YT searches for this song...but glad I did now.
Got to listen to Jewel do this song every Christmas.
Heavenly sounds 🙏🙏❤️
I watched all holy nights Jewel's is best bar none.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this marvelous song
Jewel is indeed a talent. A great voice, a good actress, as well. What's puzzling is the leather pants.....? Well, aside from that....have a wonderful Christmas. And Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Thank-You Jewel !!! You are a BEAUTIFUL Jewel to the Human Race ..........
I think Jewels' voice is perfect for this song. I really enjoy this better than any other person doing this song.jewel is the best with this song!!!!
Still loving this as much in 2024 as so did then ❤
When I heard this rendition it became one of my favorite Christmas songs I’ve ever heard. Her voice was angelic in this take for sure! But why do we never hear it on radio or in any Christmas special?
I really like Jewel's rendition of this song. Often folks singing Christmas songs can't even hit the notes. She sang beautifully here.
WOW sings like an angel.
Sure does...

Simply beautiful, so beautifly simple.
Love her angelic voice

oh voice divine!
She is a Jewel that sings like an Angel.🌹
Now I have heard an angels voice
Simply glorious.
Although your voice is magical in its purity and innocence and one of my favorites, I love you for you, not for what you can give me.
Love it...Love it... Love it...
Such a unique and beautiful voice
her voice is amazing, much better then some of the versions I heard on here.
like an angel singing
Incredibil voice! Angel...
Every Christmas Eve I come back here and listen to it because this is way and the right voice to sing this song. If you’re reading this I wish you a merry xmas, wherever you are please stay safe and wear a mask!
Another fact...she is angelic in voice and personage. Stop hating and grow up. God bless you! :0)
Oh MY.. a gorgeous voice.
Angel on this earth!!
the album version of this is one of my top three fav Cm songs.
sounds beautiful
She is Awesome and can sing anything :) I have been a big fan of hers since lilth fair When she toured with Sarah Mclachlan
Such an angelic voice
Best version
Beautiful song... No comment!
so pure and beautiful
r&b is a very beautiful music genre. True it lacks soul and substance these days but it's filled without a lot of beautiful singers. Open your mind.
Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
O Jewel eres una capaza...!
I'm in love!
wow, just wow!
I want this at my funeral
All right friends it’s September. Let’s launch the 2022 season!
her performance is a proof that singing is not all about belting and shouting. . nicely done. .
When CHRIST Was born 💖
Done very beautifully.
I adore her
Thank you
very nice I just tried it now covering the special song, its my favo too..she seems a lil bit seskyYyYyYy! but sings very well without ny R&B changes or improvisations merry christmas
