- This Booster will help you to understand the criterion for acceptance of concrete as per IS 456:2000.
Basically, there are two criterion for concrete.
Compressive Strength for Cube sample.
Flexural Strength for Beam sample.

Great video and greater illustration, well done :) May I ask, why you specify the number of samples per group to 4? I mean, what about 3 samples per group (just like the validation) ?
and the other thing is, let's say we poured a 150 cubic meters of concrete and we took 6 samples for the compression test (3 after 7 days, 3 after 28 days), what if the samples' validation fails for one of the samples after 28 days? what can we do?

For concrete quantity up to 30 m3 (where the number of samples to be taken is less than four,) as per frequency of sampling given in 15.2.2, the mean of test results of all such samples shall be fck + 4 N/mm2, minimum
The requirement of minimum individual test results shall be fck - 2 N/mm2, minimum. However, when the number of samples is only one as per 15.2.2, the requirement shall be fck + 4 N/mm2, minimum.
One more thing,...
In the absence of established value of standard deviation, the values given in Table 8 (IS: 456-2000) may be assumed, and attempt should be made to obtained results of 30 samples as early as possible to establish the value of standard deviation.

I have an doubt regard 7days and 28 days strength
Is there any condition that 7days compressive strength is 70% of 28 days compressive strength. Why I'm asking this means I have mix design of M15 in that he gave target strength as 23Mpa according to this what is 7 days strength
Is 70% of target strength or 70% of characteristics strength
How do you calculate individual variation
(Individual strength - avg strength)÷(avg strength )*100
yes I would like to ask that for particular 28 days of testing if I have less than 4 sets say 3 no of set..than how will i confirm the acceptance criteria. Can i consider one set from next day of testing so that i can merge 4 no of test result as non overlapping consecutive test samples result.? Kindly revered asap

here individual test result means not the individual cube result, it is average of 3 cubes
