Want the whine and keep the cold air intake ? Remove the original airbox, cut a 60 mm hole at the back of the airbox as well as in the plastic panel behind it and link them both with a water pipe rubber link . Cost 1 quid and keep the stock look
DDM has a truly sealed box that pulls from the base of windshield. Also added scoops to the opening in front of windshield. Look good and functional. No hot engine bay air ingested.
That’s probably the worst induction kit you can get. Sucking up all the hot air from the manifold so you’re probably losing power. The best kit for these cars is the JCW Airbox or a replica such as the stealth box from orranje 👍🏻
It’s really not, I run a k&n typhoon boxed in and there is 0 head soak over the other, diameter is wider and pipe is wider and does a better job. One thing I would say is that I do have a small scuttle scoop on the top hood instead of the vents and it seems to pull a lot in.
A heat shield would make a massive difference. The r53 cuts ignition at 50 odd degrees IAT, I run a GTT one with a shield and even then I see rising temps
The RamAir kit should come with another hose pipe in black that looks like a long plastic spring that connects to the RamAir box and goes to the air duct? really do need that bro?....
Mate, that's a hot air intake. I have a 2006 r53 same colour as yours and after an hour of spirited driving I opened the hood and touched the OEM plastic box air intake and it was DAMN hot, so your new air intake is sucking all that hot air. Try to make an aluminium box so that it's a proper cold air intake. Cheers.
The thing that makes the difference isn't the air intake, it's the intercooler. A bulkier intercooler will reduce the temp by half. Costs the same as a bling "cold" air intake, what crap.
I had a Cooper S years ago, very similar to this but the facelift (different headlights and fog above exhaust) and it had a Kavs Reduction pully. I didn’t even know that when I bought it till I found some paperwork in the book pack. It went like stink!!!
Cable ties?? I’d say do the job once and do it properly with jubilee clips, also this is a hot air intake, the amount of heat soak you will be getting from the manifold will be a lot, much better of with a Oranjje stealth airbox or an airbox mod that allows you to put a k and N or similar cone filter within the airbox to avoid the heat soak!
I have the oem and I think it’s not worth bothering about after market intakes .It sounds and acts the same way . And doesn’t change the performance . To sound a little more throaty it’s no worth it
never use this mod. Engine is sucking too much hot air and you lose so much power. Please take a look JCW airbox or AirTec. You will see that is sucking air from the front and the back. But it's cold air which is very important.
Got it all going on now, induction roar, supercharger whine and exhaust sounds great 👍🏻

I agree with Nick G, all of it sounds superb and looking good.

Box it in and get that fresh air in there.
@@luvz2drum99 could have left the resonator in there, or cut a hole in the OEM filter box

The compressor sound is Sick.
Sounds so good!

in 3 years, imma have a mini as well haha. love them cars
The internet is waiting for an update - did you end up getting one?
we need to know if you got one!!!!

Won't the aluminium get hot too? More so that the plastic?

Where you got your headlights? Looking real bright
Liked and subbed looking forward to more mini content.

Did you drop power with it going in that hot ass engine bay?
Say Hello to higher Intake Air Temps - Supercharger already generates tons of heat.
Hey I have a cooper s r52 and ramair but there is no whine sound coming out. Why?
All that work just to replace an air filter? it already has ram air
do a front mount oil cooler
What exhaust you got there mate?

best induction for losing power from heat soak lol
Cable tie, cable tie, that will loose power, it will suck all the hot air in. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so slow, .
did you want him to magic a proper clip out of his arse?
I have a Gtt airfilter they any good on the r53& does it add much bhp?
