My late husband and I loved her from the start of that competition and knew she had no competition and would win. He passed away in 2020 and was a fan of hers until the very end. I revisit her videos old and new often. She is truly gifted and a gift from God to country music. I love inside your heaven but I believe this should have been her official single. Love her so much
I am 74. I have been a fan of hers since her first audition. Her story to success is amazing and inspiring. She is one of those individuals you come across in life who is impossible to dislike, or rather impossible not to love. Here we are 16 years later and she is still at the top of her game. There are very few people you can say that about. She is just a blessed person, and lovely /beautiful, as well.
I have loved carry since the day she appeared on her audition. After 18 years in the industry she has grown so much. Last night my husband took me to her denim & rhinestones tour show of 2023 in Atlanta and she was absolutely amazing!!! 🤩
I do believe Angels brought Carrie here so that we could have the rare pleasure of hearing her heavenly voice for many years to come. I can listen to her all day and I'm man enough to admit that many times her songs and awesome voice bring a tear to my eyes. Thank you God for Carrie Underwood!!!
Her voice has only gotten better and stronger with age. there is really no note she can't hit and no rendition of a song she can't make her own. True superstar and still so humble. Love her
Watching this with it about to be 2020 seeing all her success put tears in my eyes I love her soooo much I remember saying she was going to win during her audition 😍😘🥰
To me, the difference between Carrie and Fantasia. After Carrie won, Idol, Carrie's career blossomed and she hasn't looked back since. Fantasia, that didn't happen. Carrie has become a megastar, where as Fantasia didn't busted out completely. Bo, was never close to Carrie in the competition. Bo was a distant second.
The Idol producers even admitted years later that she won the voting every week from Top 12-Finale. There was no doubt that she had this in the bag from the very beginning.
Well, if you notice, with Carrie's season, they didn't put up on the Top Ten List on the screen at all and why Carrie had such a big lead and plus everybody knew Carrie was going to win.
My absolute favorite from American Idol. Carrie is simply incredible!! Folks, talent like this just comes around once in a lifetime. I'm so proud to be one of her many fans!!
15 years later and this song still sounds amazing and I still get the same feeling I did then Carrie Underwood truly is an amazing singer nobody compares to her I have been a fan since day 1 and will forever be a fan
Simple reason for that, Carrie's voice has changed. Difference for Carrie is maturity. Back then, Carrie knew about the music business, but now she is in full control of everything.
It doesn't matter how many times I have watched this video, but I know one thing is certain I get chill bumps every time. Carrie has been so blessed with such a voice. The raw emotion in this video should grab you enough. Congratulatons Carrie!!
What a stupidly amazing voice. Oh my GOODNESS! Her voice is ridiculous. What a great voice she has. Absolutely phenomenal delivery of the song. Carrie is out of this world!
I'm 28 and I remembered watching American Idol season 4 when I was 12. I've been always rooting for her since the audition in St. Louis. Her genuineness and her beautiful soul touched my heart and ever since her winning, I became a huge fan of her :) 16 years has passed but I'm keeping it as a good old memory ❤
Carrie was the most improved and polished American Idol champion. She is a testament that you could be big as long as you maintain your passion. Support from the Philippines.
Carrie knew nothing about the music business when she competed on Idol. If you ever did a crash course. This is what Idol was for Carrie, except Idol was six-months worth and it was non-stop.
As great of a performance as this was, it also gives you an idea of how far she's come since then! She really just keeps getting better with age. Her music, her pitch, and her stage presence have all come so far. I'm going to see her in concert tonight and I can't wait!
I wish this was her coronation song. It would have been huge on radio. No one played Inside your heaven even though it went straight to #1 Billboard. I love this song
There was a reason Idol didn't show the tally board for all of the contestants that year. Carrie was so far ahead and all other contestants knew she was going to win it.
@@secrets.295 As all three of the current judges said about other contestants. They have to seize their opportunity. No record label is going to after Idol winners and make them successful. Yes, Carrie got great songs and she turned them into great hits. Like Carrie's first single, "Jesus Take The Wheel", Carrie turned into a blockbuster hit.
How anyone can give this performance a thumbs down is beyond me...It is an extraordinary performance...Just like every performance Carrie gives...more emotion in every note than you will ever hear from any other singer and it wasn't even her song...Carrie has showed us her greatness since and even has showed us how to be better human beings.....

Carrie said in an interview with Australian TV. That she never heard of this song until three hours before the show. That is how good she was then and still is. To not knowing the song to that type of performance. WOW is even understand statement.
Even with that. And Carrie to be perfect on ever thing. She saw it later and said not my best. Where did she need to improve on it, my goodness. That is why she took the judges's critical comments so well. Simon said it before, she was one contestant used the critical comments and got better.

Bo, said he was just getting a learning experience from the show. As soon as he heard Carrie sing. He knew winning that season was out of reach. He got the enjoyment of listening to Carrie every night of that season's run. Idol tried to turn into drama of who was going to win. But, there was no drama. Everybody except Carrie, knew Carrie was going to win.
So many people here have just found Carrie. I just discovered her in May 2007 after the awards and just then got Some Hearts. I was missing out on a jewel all this time and I follow country music. I had no idea how good that CD is. If you don't own it go get it today.

WOW!! I never saw American Idol until 2007 and to think that I missed Carrie Underwood's performances...thank GOD for UA-cam. And thank God especially for Carrie Underwood.

I love how she held on to that note for so long and then put her head back down, singing into the microphone without showing any slight sign of attenuation, as if belting out that word didn't make her unsteadily breathless for even a second.

Randy Jackson said the only reason, he picked this song for Carrie. Was find a song that was out of her vocal range and see what she can do with it. See if Carrie would get flustered by getting to that range. And she surprised Randy by getting to that range with ease. You could tell Randy was caught off-guard by how ease Carrie did this song.

Anne McNamara Carrie was interviewed by an Australian reporter, it is here on UA-cam. It was when she visited Australia. I believe, it is called "Coverup".
robert gardell I thought the judge's pick was only during the top 3, the finale (from what I remember watching seasons 1-9) the finale songs were always chosen by the top 2. Either way if you are right, that's still magnificent how well executed she did this song.
Alden Bunag Carrie was interviewed on Australian TV and she was asked how this song got on to American Idol. It was in the final round, judges's choice of the song. And judge pick this one for her.
robert gardell Ahh, didn't know that, I always thought the final 3 song choices was up to the contestant, well clearly the judges wanted her to win then, lol.
Alden Bunag According to Carrie, she got to pick one in the final round, judge picks the second one and then they doing the winners song, that is the three songs for the finale.
Carrie was asked, why did she perform with a busted eardrum. She said simple, her dad said you went to do Idol and be a singer, so do it. So, she did.

+Lillian Eversole this song was actually the first ever Australian Idol winners single back in 2003, a while before Carrie sung it.
Lillian, the reason, this wasn't the winning song, instead of "Inside Your Heaven". The owner didn't want Idol used it that way.
It shouldve been included in the single release: Inside your heaven, independence day, angels brought me here. Would've been perfect.
They couldn't included. Even though Carrie put into the spotlight with this performance.
Lonell Fletcher I couldn’t agree more! I’d kill to have her versions of this song and of Independence Day.
Carrie is definitely the best to ever come off of Idol. If she had lost, it would have been the biggest mistake in history. America got her right.

Anne McNamara I already know that. If you know Carrie's history at all. She completely explained about the song history and Guy Sebastion.

Anne McNamara Carrie was interviewed by an Australian reporter, it is here on UA-cam. It was when she visited Australia. I believe, it is called "Coverup".

Her smile just lights up a room
I Love Love Love Love Love Carrie
She's Just Amazing
WTF theres no talent in 2013 as good as Carrie Underwood in any singing competition around the world.
I think since, 2009 season. Idol was saying trying to find another Carrie Underwood out there. I doubt if they will be another one like Carrie.
You are very welcome. And I still agree with you ... and always will ... Carrie is DIVINE
i simply love the way she sings!! she always have my heart!! GO!!
Carrie was genius for using what I believe is the best "Idol" original song ever made.
Carrie didn't pick this song to do. She sang it, because it was judge pick song. She never heard of it until three hours before.
robert gardell
I thought the judge's pick was only during the top 3, the finale (from what I remember watching seasons 1-9) the finale songs were always chosen by the top 2.
Either way if you are right, that's still magnificent how well executed she did this song.
Alden Bunag Carrie was interviewed on Australian TV and she was asked how this song got on to American Idol. It was in the final round, judges's choice of the song. And judge pick this one for her.
robert gardell
Ahh, didn't know that, I always thought the final 3 song choices was up to the contestant, well clearly the judges wanted her to win then, lol.
Alden Bunag According to Carrie, she got to pick one in the final round, judge picks the second one and then they doing the winners song, that is the three songs for the finale.
