- Australian Citizen Julian Assange was persecuted and imprisoned for 14 years because he told the truth.
Decades on from him unveiling embarrassing information about the government, no one has been able to prove who was apparently 'put in danger' by what Wikileaks released.
The truth is, we should know everything about what the Government is up to. With surveillance like the Digital ID Bill coming into effect, the Government wants it the other way around. They want to know everything about you while you know nothing about what the Government is doing.
Whistleblowers rarely come with perfect personalities, but knowing what the government is up to with your money is vital. Welcome home Julian, your return was long overdue.
Why are the chambers always empty when someone has something important to say?
Hopefully they are all listening from jail cells, where they belong
I have complained of the same. Malcom, Pauline, others make incredibly important speeches that fall on deaf ears. Its part of an enforced 2 party Con-munist society who work for the same team
They can’t argue against such insightful, factual, moral presentations so they waddle off to the feeding trough
Happens in the UK as well, it shows solidarity with the people that they serve,their lying masters

PS I am retired but worked in the private sector and travelled all over, neither at home or the office, I was for intents and purposes “ the office “

I don't think those 'honours' are worth 2 cents. Just like the Peter Mitchell Award, made out to be a big deal but seen as irrelevant by the service that gives it.

Thank you, Senator Malcolm. I saw you in video where you are in background at Julian's arrival in Canberra. You are visibly in the background smiling a small satisfied smile as others spoke. Confess I shed a few tears, so many years where #Free Assange was largely ignored in Australia and when there was a demo, on a Sunday in the city, it was lucky to get 20 participatnts, thank you what you have done, together with the other parliamentarians. A rare thing in itself, to have cross-party action like this.

I do hope that someone is looking after Julian's health. That prison food, lack of fresh air, and exercise may have taken a toll.
