In this video, we will dive deep into Bharat Rasayan which has been one of the best performing stocks in the last decade.
Bharat Rasayan was established in 1984 by SN Gupta, and is one of the few Delhi based companies listed on the bourse. Its IPO came out in 1993 and BRL Ltd. (listed co) focuses on the manufacturing of intermediates and technical grades.
Some of the products are:
🌱 Lambda Cyhalothrin (Insecticides)
🌱 Thiamethoxam (Insecticides)
🌱 Fipronil (Insecticides)
🌱 Metaphenoxy Benzaldehyde (13% of sales)
🌱 Metribuzin (Technical Grade) (10% of sales)

What are your views on sectors that may be viewed as contra bets at the moment - like branded real estate, quality nbfcs, radio/tv? Markets have beaten them down quite a bit and valuations are very attractive if there is an economic bounce back
Not at all interested in radio TV etc or real estate sector. All of them are in for structural challenges to the business model, in Nbfcs look at the highest quality ones who will survive the mayhem. Still prefer Banks over Nbfcs given the current environment we are in. We are still not out, more shaking out to happen despite the liquidity driven rally.

I have a couple of follow-up questions:
1) May you please elaborate on the structural problems in radio/tv? My hypothesis is that stocks like Music Broadcast and TV Today which have strong balance sheets and depressed valuations may turn out winners when ad revenues return.
2) Wouldn't the present situation shake out the weak hands in real estate and lead to further consolidation in favour of the ones with strong balance sheets and good reputation? Stocks like Sunteck and Oberoi look very interesting to me

It's also because of the free floating shares in the market. As nearly 88-90% of shares are already cornered, which makes the effective float to be 10% which is too less for any brokerage

Sir, please analyze Suven life sciences, I have heard some good things about it recently from some analysts
There is an optionality of Suven Life selling one of its molecules to any other R&D player if it proceeds in the next phase. Co has been given 300 Cr of cash for survival in next 2-3 years, I think they might go for a listing in USA. I still hold no opinions as it is a story stock. Realizations go down though, but yes generally RM going down helps in margin improvement. They have partial ability to pass on the RM fluctuations, if more MNC business comes, business' nature would transform

The related party transactions at times are prone to misuse by the promoters to siphoning of funds to related entities. These need to be looked into carefully. How is it that the seller company is in debts and the related entities are earning profits large enough to fund the seller company? This is a smart way to build wealth in the subsidiary or related companies the beneficiaries of which are the promoters. Giving a longer payment cycle to related buyers is an indirect benefit to the related entities unless interest is charged from them for the period beyond normal credit period. One has to ascertain facts before coming to a conclusion and take a decision accordingly. Hope this company is acting above board.
However, RTP has been taken care off with a Japanese MNC acquiring the subsidiary to manufacture patented molecules. No subsitute to business understanding and then accounting :) which are married together
Bharat Rasyan has deleveraged massively, check the latest credit rating :)

I am on the pro side sir purely based on technicals...also sir any idea what happened around end of 2013 when stock was at 125 and it rallied to 8000+ in 2020...
It's the great chemical Tailwinds. Indian started gaining market share, check the other chemical and agchem stocks like Pi, Alkyl, Deepak Nitrite, Aarti, Srf etc. Chinese shutdown and blue sky policy, led to structural increase in costs for them. A lot of what is happening here reminds me of It industry/pharma industry boom. We will be making a complete series on all the chemical stocks which we understand (there are many we don't :))
