Dude this is the one im looking for exactly the same wheels im using, because im currently running at 215/50/R17, with my newly installed coilovers and i wanted drop even more, i cant decide if im going 215/40 or 205/40. This helps alot 🔥. Thanks alot for making video like this.

My ties comes with 205/45/17 and handled great i when to a bigger wight 215/45/17 the handling is not as sharp , likes to wander a 70 mph . Any advise? Thanks

Nice video. For the 205/40, did u have to use special technique to mount the tires on the wheel or just the normal mounting procedure?
I think on both tires set up 215 and 205 ypu need to do the special technique
i put 205 in front and 215 in the rear hope it's not an issue 🤞

i bought 8 inch wide steel dynamics that have around a -40mm offset I'm hoping that 205's will be just small enough not to scrub under full lock, they're 15's going on a little nissan micra lol I'm excited to get them fitted

Thank you very much sir. Those are exactly two of the wheels I'm debating to get. I know the KNP's are more quality compared to the JNC 010 but I'd be curious to hear your opinion on them. Any durability issue or big weight difference?
Lol i actually shattered my JNC on the road but it was due to a massive rock that fell off a dump truck, the KNPs are 10/10 tho would recommend them to anyone

Love the video man! I’m also wondering though. Did the 205 make the sidewall smaller or is that an effect from the video. I’m having some major issues with the wheels a tire shop assured me would work so I’m looking for lower sidewall. I got 255 40 and 225 50’s on it. The 255 40 seems smaller after I put them on then the 225 50’s. I was just looking up the comparison for tires I want and found your video! I missed out on some very important things for my kids because of there mess up.
Yeah so the aspect ratio, which is the 35/40/45/50 ect in tire size is a percentage, so like for a 205/40 the “40” is 40% of the width of the tire

So I never had issues with the 205 and ever since then the 215s have been great! Tbh 215/40 gives you just a smidgen more sidewall and helps ALOT

How much of a difference did a 205 do for you fitment wise? Which tire size do you prefer running?
I feel the 205 fit it well I just wanted less stretch, I really love the feel of the 215s more

So do a lot of people use the nankings because they stretch more or is it the price of them which tire is the one that a lot of stance guys use because it's has a good looking stretch to it ?
I'm running 17 by 9 and 3/4 right now but I just picked up a set of Whistler SK 1 they're 17x9 with a 25 offset so I'm probably going to run 205-40 and I don't want to run kumho or Douglas 😆

It depends, for more sidewall (205/45/17) or do you want a wider tyre? (215/40/17) or do you want a bigger sidewall and a bigger tyre (215/45/17)

I mean that’s you’re preference, I ran a 205/40 on a 9 for years lol never had issues but make sure you keep the psi up
The 45 profile makes it a very similar stretch / just-as-"safe" as a 215/40, just a slightly fatter sidewall, some brands may look more rounded.

can you? Yes. Should you? No. That's a staggered setup, so you most def have a wider wheel in the rear than front.
My setup is 215 45 17s. And the fender gap between the tirea is 3 fingers. I need to lessen the gap like 1- 2 fingers only for a nice fitment. At the same time i like to lower my car even more. What can you suggest? Anyone pls..
Do a 225 50 17
205/40/17. You can get a decent drop while being fairly safe. If you want to stance it more, 185/40/17 but make sure your psi is up and you have to drive slightly more cautious as you could potentially damage a rim (I did😢)
@@justincrowie7706 I wouldn't do anything until you lower, then go from there. If no plans to lower get the 255/50 as mentioned above.

It is not only width, but also diameter, so those two are not comparable. One of them is too big/small.
They are tho, these are two very very common sizes on 17x9 wheels, at least in the fitment world
