That guitar is stunning! I love that Cobra burst finish and the tone of those Fishman Fluency pickups. I'd kill to own a Music Man but they are really hard to find here in Ireland. I've entered the competition with as many entries as possible but seriously doubt i'll win. Someone will be really happy to win this guitar when they get their hands on it. Great Video and demo as usual Robert.
Fenders greed will not allow that... Their time is up because many people are choosing other guitars! I know I did... sold my AP2 for a company with much more class!
Looks and sounds great spec wise . Haven’t got to try one out personally yet, but… for the price from a “sister/ lower cost version” … definitely have to try one out in person. There’s a lot of competition at this price point!
Excellent review Rob, with the newer Ernie Ball Music Man offerings starting to really climb in price, the Sterling brand has really picked up their game.
Yes have I've been wanting a Ray 34 for some time now especially with them haven't roasted maple necks and ss frets I can't afford another $3'000 bass like a Ernie Ball stingray I already got a American Elite Jazz bass that's worth close to to 3k my wife would kill me but I could get away with a sterling
My partscaster is really similar but cost about 1/3 of Sterling’s price. Alumitone HSS pickup configuration brings down the weight and makes really nice Superstrat sounds.
Hey Robert, everybody...that is a bad-ass guitar! Like the finish, like the features. I was Suhr that it was a Suhr, this is a pleasant surprise. Almost bought a Cutlass once and I have several guitars but nothing like this. I opted for a Jackson over the Cutlass and now here's a chance for this beauty. I do believe a Sabre will outperform a Cutlass. Thanks and thanks to Sweetwater and kudos to Ernie Ball and Music Man. I can hardly wait...EDIT: Just left the website, damm that's a pretty guitar -- definitely opting for the Cobra Burst!
Nice! One thing I do not understand is why no one uses Zero frets in their designs. Makes the action more comfortable in the lower frets and also helps with tuning stability during tremolo use.
Agreed. I usually install a ZeroGlide aftermarket zero fret where possible. Even changed the one in my acoustic. Always use the stainless steel replacement zero fret instead of the supplied nickel one. That’s a must.
What a beautiful guitar and great playing, not just shredding all over the place, but real feeling. Great man! Don't have a Strat or modern Strat style guitar, so i had to participate 😊
That axe is gorgeous, I'm a sucker for a roasted maple neck, baked maple too, just incredible. I love the satin finish, your fingers just glide up and down that gorgeous neck.
Sterling is the most underrated brand in music. SS frets are absolutely the way to go! I am a fender guy but they are going to fall behind if they keep balking on at least adding locking tuners to guitars in the thousands. As always, great video🤙
Gosh, what a lovely guitar!! It most certainly have a lot of boxes ticked! But they have put themselves at a very competitive price point. At that price bracket I have other preferences though...
I've played the Music Man Sabre and that's an incredible guitar , and I've heard nothing but good things about The Sterling, this company always come through
Ive had a couple friends that have had Musicman guitars but really didn't care much for the sound. That could be because what they were playing through. But this one sounds awesome. Don't know if its the Fismans or what .
$1,500 But what would keep me from buying one is the location of the controls. They are in the way, for me. The one I would want is the Cutlass, but it doesn't have stainless frets so I don't want it. At least with a pickguard I could move the controls out of the way. I'd prefer a wider nut too. That's something that can't be changed.
STERLING guitars and basses kick major ass for the money! I love my AX-40D Axis clone that they unfortunately no longer make. The AX-40D comes with a set of the original Axis Custom wound Dimarzio's that friggin kill and i installed a Gotoh 1996T to replace the stock Sterling branded 1996T on this AX-40D. Not that it was a bad trem system, it was actually better than i had expected But i prefer the Gotoh. With the Dimarzio set and the Gotoh trem this Sterling gets me 75% of the way to a EBMM Axis for under a grand. I paid $450 from a deal when he was closing them out. Shame they stopped selling these? I will have to try one of those sabre's!
@@the1trueporkchop You know your models! That chambered Valentine is pretty cool. I wish it came in something other than a natural finish. They’ve got it in Butterscotch, but only with a Bigsby. I’m sure they’re both sweet, though!
The only thing I'm not diggin' is that bridge. But, overall, it's a decent looking shred machine for sure! Would be more than happy to have it in my extremely small collection. Thanks, Rob and the gang!!
Music man always delivered perfect guitars. The surprise would be fender delivery steel frets. Locking tuners . And so on. Every. Factory today delivery better quality than fender.
This guitar looks and sounds like a beast. Would definitely replace my Strat for one of these. Sterling/MusicMan is definitely catering to actual players and not just collectors who keep case queens.
No guitar company makes the perfect guitar, as we all like different things? There are guitars i love to use for certain sounds, songs, or how the guitar plays best for that song, but nobody has made a guitar thats perfect for me!
Hi Robert lm from the uk. I have just entered and I’d love this beautiful guitar 🎸 you have here it’s superb and a great axe with such splendid luthier build is just amazing, nothing spared just quality after quality very nice indeed and the way you explain how great it is. Great playing as well. Fully enjoy your vids. I doubt I’d win this being across the pond and I don’t usually win things like this. Yes I’d absolutely love too but l can’t build my hopes yet strangely the closing date is my birthday 31-10 l believe too so wow what a win if I was at all lucky too. Keep rocking your page, always a pleasure listening to your vids. Take care. J
Great guitar and the blue one has a most essential Rosewood fretboard. All looked good until my eyes fell on the price, $1500 that is about £1233 plus the usual mark that UK dealers charge. Sorry but no way would i pay that much, a similar spec can be found elswhere for less than half this price.
If firefly can offer SS frets, roasted necks, and rosewood/maple fretboards on guitars that cost $169, there’s no excuse for these other companies
Those Fishman Fluence pickups are like a quantum leap over traditional pickups in terms of how they build them.
I've owned and played many Sterling guitars and they were all high-quality instruments. I was blown away!
Great specs on this thing. May have to get one myself. Wasn't even on my radar. Thanks, Rob.

I bought my first Sterling this year and I am in love with it. I got the Albert Lee. Cannot say enough.
Great looking and sounding guitar. It really matches the color of the roasted maple neck and fingerboard with the sunburst finish. Great frets too.
I got a chance to try those pickups in a store a few months back and they're so versatile. The finish is gorgeous, too. Cheers, Robert.
When you said they listened, I was hoping that Fender was going to make locking tuners standard on their guitars.
Me kind of too, but I also know that „they listened“ couldn’t be directed to Fender.
Fenders greed will not allow that... Their time is up because many people are choosing other guitars! I know I did... sold my AP2 for a company with much more class!
Or at least ditch the plastic nuts, or I'm sorry, "synthetic bone"
@@HumbleSchizo Id rather get a Squier than a fender 100%
Reverend does that.

like the crunch tone at the start of the video, plus he playing is awesome too, Rock on Brother!!
That axe is gorgeous, I'm a sucker for a roasted maple neck, baked maple too, just incredible. I love the satin finish, your fingers just glide up and down that gorgeous neck.
I've played a Sterling once before and really loved the neck feel and geometry...
Love the finish and the tunes you just played. You can make any guitar sound good. Yes!!!!
That's one sweet sounding and looking guitar, can't believe your giving it away to some lucky winner.
Thanks for the look at this guitar.
Forgot about the Sterling line.
I'm definitely going to check Sterling guitars out on Sweetwater and enter the contest..Sweet!
It's refreshing to listen to the sound, of new, good modern humbuckers, keep it up.
Beautiful guitar. Loved the intro too, great 80s vibe off it
always look forward for another one of your videos! you inspire me to keep pushing through the boundaries of learning guitar
Sterling is the most underrated brand in music. SS frets are absolutely the way to go! I am a fender guy but they are going to fall behind if they keep balking on at least adding locking tuners to guitars in the thousands. As always, great video🤙
Absolute garbage bridges so don't expect much from tuning stability. For the same money you can get a Kiesel Aries with much better specs.
amazing tone on the pickups
Gosh, what a lovely guitar!! It most certainly have a lot of boxes ticked!

That guitar is a beauty. I'm a sucker for the versatility of this ax.
intro jam was killer!
I've played the Music Man Sabre and that's an incredible guitar , and I've heard nothing but good things about The Sterling, this company always come through
Never tried a guitar with Fishman’s before, I could learn to start… Thanks Robert!
Ive had a couple friends that have had Musicman guitars but really didn't care much for the sound. That could be because what they were playing through. But this one sounds awesome. Don't know if its the Fismans or what .
This seems to be a trend (which I applaud) in the guitar industry. Take a look at the Cort G300 raw for example...
$1,500

Stainless steel frets with fluence fishmans pickups

I’ve always appreciated music man’s sterling line but this thing looks sweet!
Nice have to get used to the 4 on top 2 on bottom tuners.
Love those Music Man guitars. I wonder if they’ll ever come out with a semi-hollow model.
Do you mean a semi-hollow Sabre or semi-hollow in general? Music-man has had a couple semi-hollows before.
@@the1trueporkchop I meant more of a 335, but now that I think of it, a thinline Axis would be pretty cool!
@@norseman61 there are thin-line axises out there, but the thin line Valentine is probably closer to what you’re looking for.

What’s the neck carve like? I like thick early ‘60s strat necks. Most modern and budget guitars have thin necks.
I would love to try this guitar! This one is the perfect finish too!
Sounds great!!!! Love to try that on a gig!!!!
What a beauty. It looks amazing. Never considered a Saber.
Do you have any B.C. Rich or Schecter reviews? Or would you consider reviewing them?
I remember seeing the Sabre's at namm. And thought they where super cool. Never got to play them cause everyone was crowding them.
Whats that riff at 3:20? Sounds so familiar but cant name it
fyv
Came for the guitar, left with the vibes. This channel is overflowing with good vibes.
i talked to the rep at NAMM and they did indeed call it the "saw-bray". lol.
Never normally enter contests but this looks sweet. Itching to get a new axe so 🤞🏻
The only thing I'm not diggin' is that bridge. But, overall, it's a decent looking shred machine for sure! Would be more than happy to have it in my extremely small collection. Thanks, Rob and the gang!!
1500 and no double locking trem? How's the tuning? Can I use the whammy?
The Sabre is probably Music Man’s best looking guitar
That's a mighty fine axe - very impressed with this one!
Music man always delivered perfect guitars. The surprise would be fender delivery steel frets. Locking tuners . And so on. Every. Factory today delivery better quality than fender.
Bonus points for the Sabre Office reference.
Killer guitar, I’d tune it to C standard personally.
This guitar looks and sounds like a beast. Would definitely replace my Strat for one of these. Sterling/MusicMan is definitely catering to actual players and not just collectors who keep case queens.
Cool guitar. Been curious about Sterling for some time..
Schecter SLS Elite is similarly appointed, pups and all, and I purchased mine for $500 less.
That Sabre is such a great guitar, been dreaming about that since it came out
I was expecting you to play the Sabre Dance on that thing!
I tried the actual Musicman version has a really wide fretboard. The same with this one?
Have never played anything from MUSIC MAN. Interest ie peaked, Robert! Thank you😇
Can you maybe do a video on caparison at some point if youre interested in them?
These look so awesome. Excited about this giveaway!
Loved that intro!!
Color is awesome, ❤
Sterling makes rad axes, I love my Sterling Mariposa.

That bridge split sounded sick as f**k
That guitar sounds and looks amazing. What a great value.
Wow. They did a killer job. Nice guitar.

Amazing playing and beautiful guitar
I sure don’t need another guitar, but these are pretty cool
What are you playing through in this video?! Cheers dude
I've never played a Music Man, this looks cool.
Damn, what a great instrument! Such a great giveaway! Good luck everybody! 😁
I entered . sounds great . but to let you know I'm south pawl a lefty player
Nice office reference, love that!
Beautiful guitar & specks!
Wow I really dig this and wanna try one!
are those coil splits? or different pickup voicings?
Both
Sounds sweet. Great tones!!
Yaaay. I love these Music Man beauties without the US price tag 😅
Nice Guitar, but two questions. From my understanding these guitars are very pricey, and they don’t make any left-handed versions.
Bad news is i lost my job so i cant buy yet another guitar. Good news is i can now practice 12 hours a day woot!
I would love that guitar ! How do i enter ???
Love the tones...
I love everything from ernie ball haha, would LOVE to own a usa made music man sabre one day.
Great guitar and the blue one has a most essential Rosewood fretboard.
