Hello, I need to say how much I have enjoyed this video as a hobbyist sewing machine restorer myself. In fact, in the process of restoring a 1898 machine in similar bad shape. Some constructive criticism. Although the job is amazing when it comes to polishing and sand blasting, I would expect much better results in finishing the black painted surfaces, there are still many scuffed and pitted areas. I use metal and body filler for cars and then sand to the desired smooth finish. But since you laser engrave I understand the limitations ( I apply water decals under multiple clear coats). Painting the ornate face plate in gold is brilliant! thinking of doing that on the old lady. Thanks again, amazing job!

I have my Grandmother's 1956 Singer. It is in the original sewing cabinet, I have the instruction booklet and all the original accessories. It is amazing to see how in 70 years from this one so many things remain the same. Like the tension screw for the stitches, the way you change the needle. The pressure foot is the same, with the lever in back to raise and lower it. It also still has a hand wheel on the right side to manually stitch when needed.
Thank you. Just watching the finish of winding the bobbin, threading brought back some wonderful memories of my grandmother teaching me to sew on her treadle Singer. Thank you for restoring a beautiful machine.

I guess i need to start refurbishing it, though it'll be nowhere near as nice as you have done. the ingenuity and craftsmanship in this sewing machine is amazing. men figured this out with just their brains, no computers or power tools to conceive, create and assemble this beauty
I turned a foot pedaled singer into a foot pedaled grinding stone to sharpen my axes and knives.. I get way more use out of it than I would a sewing machine.. There are literally tens of thousands of these old sewing machines out there.. They are not worth very much and unless it's a family heirloom or something they aren't really worth restoring..
This restoration is amazing. The skills and equipment needed to disassemble all of the components, keep them organized, clean/restore each piece including every screw, etc. is magnificent. Plus a huge amount of patience is required! It would have taken many hours of work. I want to cry when I see how much solid metal was used to manufacture these machines compared to the limited life of today's plastic, circuit board, planned obsolescence today's domestic machines have. It's amazing the technology that was available in 1886 to manufacture every piece. Plus the intelligence of the designers and engineers. I loved it when you removed the bobbin and removed the original sewing thread. I hope you kept the thread for the owner! And to think how the design of the needles back in 1886 is the same as today. The quality of the stitching is better than I can get from my cheap Brother Heavy Duty machine. I see you are in Turkey! Thank you so much!
It's amazing the amount of components that go into these incredible machines. I love them, they are so beautiful. A wee bit of love and care and it will last another 120 odd years. Nice job ❤

I want to do it myself , but I need someone like you to break it down piece by piece. wow!!!Thank you! Have a wonderful life!!
Lovely work on the laser engraving, a definite original contribution to the field of restorers out there. I must comment on the screwdrivers however. You must invest in properly sized screwdrivers as they damage the screws and it is obvious, the ones you used were far too small! Keep up the excellent work!
Beautiful work. Truly enjoyed watching your restoration of both sewing machines. Your laser engraving is very artistic. Never seen that bobbin mechanism in US machines so I’m totally mesmerized 😲. These sewing machines were meant to be passed on to the younger generations so I’m glad you are helping to do that. Your color choices in this one are very faithful to the original. Bravo! Excellent! Health and success to you!
Wow !! what an amazing restoration - she is beautiful !!. I cannot imagine a negative comment. I have an old Singer machine that was gifted many years ago, and would dearly love to have her restored to working condition. Especially now. I live in South Africa where we sometimes have up to 6 hours of loadshedding a day. they cut the power at 6 in the morning, then again at 12 or 1 and then again between 6 and 8.30. I learnt to sew on a hand machine.
I have a singer 327 from the 60’s which I use for most of my sewing projects, I find it fascinating how similar the mechanics are to the Victorian ones. Excellent video, best restoration of a sewing machine Ive seen.
Thank you for this, which has a special interest for me. My mother had exactly the same model, which she inherited from her Aunt who was a dressmaker & corsetiere ! Mum's was mounted on a treadle, which of course left both hands free.
@@maryearle4667 in the latest video he made it looks like he did research on where and what kind of grease and oil you use. He definitely was using the wrong stuff in this one. I did love the laser engraving though.
What a fine piece of work! Thank you for taking the time to post it. You did very well to show the machine sewing after your work was done. The proof that the job is well done is the quality of the stitches the machine produces. This one looks like the stitches are excellent. Just so you know, in their manuals Singer recommended using kerosene to clean out old gummed up or hardened oil. I have found that this works well. I very much like your use of the laser to create the decorations. It is good taste and the design shows respect for the heritage of the machine. I would love to see a video of exactly how the laser work is done. That however is selfish of me and I have no right to be selfish in light of the generosity you show in posting such an excellent video.
Thanks for watching. we can make a video specific to the laser machine. where we find the drawings and how we sometimes draw it ourselves. Sometimes we abstract and draw an item, and sometimes we do a completely abstract work. The laser machine is not an easy machine either. Making size adjustments, other than making adjustments according to the material we use… other than that, manual adjustments to make the surface 90 degrees… The 2 minutes seen in the video, but we really spent a lot of time on laser work. 😂
Bravissimo! Complimenti!👏👏👏

These sewing machines were meant to be passed on to the younger generations so I’m glad you are helping to do that. Your color choices in this one are very faithful to the original. Bravo! Excellent! Health and success to you!
I agree with you! Such a wonderful restoration. The amount of knowledge to complete the task was superb! 👌😍☝
Singer sewing machines began as a U.S.company.

Thank you! I can now give my three machines a good clean and fix thanks to watching this!
Maravilloso trabajo un verdadero profesional 👏 👌 👍 💪 😎
Elinize sağlık 👍👌
Wow !! what an amazing restoration - she is beautiful !!.
Very nice! That laser engraving really put it over the top, what a fun toy.
Супер
I have a singer 327 from the 60’s which I use for most of my sewing projects, I find it fascinating how similar the mechanics are to the Victorian ones. Excellent video, best restoration of a sewing machine Ive seen.
I agree! Best restoration I've ever seen!! 🤩
Thank you for this, which has a special interest for me. My mother had exactly the same model, which she inherited from her Aunt who was a dressmaker & corsetiere ! Mum's was mounted on a treadle, which of course left both hands free.
Famous brand sewing machine🕺💖💃🕺💖💃🕺💖💃📽️🎥📽️🎥
Considering how old it is, it's really in surprisingly good shape!
Aprendiedo gracias
woodworking may not be your strength, but the restoration of the actual machine is perfectly lovely!
Definitely needs to get someone else to do the woodwork, I had to look away.
This made me ill! It shouldn't sound like a cement mixer! It was a beautiful machine and you have destroyed it.
@@maryearle4667 in the latest video he made it looks like he did research on where and what kind of grease and oil you use. He definitely was using the wrong stuff in this one. I did love the laser engraving though.
Congratulations for this restoration. Great finishing.
OMG That is the most BEAUTIFUL restoration I ever seen LOVE IT
A eso se le llama restauraciones! !!!!muy buen trabajo. Saludos desde Argentina.
Its amazing that you can remember where all the various screws go when you reassemble it!
Felicitaciones por su habilidad desde Lima Peru❤❤❤❤❤
Love the laser work. Would be nice to restore a machine to working order like this. Well done. She sews very nicely.
Bueno trabajo
Beautiful restoration exquisite details wow talented beyond words definitely
I’m in awe. Who are you, where are you. My dream is to one day have a machine that is cranked by hand such as the one you restored in this video.
