    I enjoy playing this piece but I also enjoy listening to other interpretations. It's so easy to get carried away on this one but you maintain - for me, personally - a perfect pace which allows your crystal clear articulation to shine through and you're not over-reliant on reeds either! It was light and still stately. Bravo!!

      David, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Yeah, you are totally right, this piece is so exhilirating. So it´s really easy to get carried away (you can tell by my facial expressions, haha) and I´m glad you like my tempo and registration. I really appreciate every single word of your comment, because it´s really interesting and important for me to see what other listeners think, what you like about it and what could be improved. So it´s one of those encouraging comments that keep me practising and recording. Thank you so much! :)

    Fantastic job! Love how crisp and clear each note was. Not too fast, not too slow.
    Also, love the floating "console". Looks very cool!

    Very nice. I like the tempo as you played it. I’ve heard some people play it like they were in a race. I also have noticed different arrangements. I have two, one a bit more simplified and the other I believe to be the original score. I’m not a professional organist and I’ve just over the last 2 weeks been working on this. Not sure how long it should take me but I think I’m not going to be as good as your rendition anytime soon. Thanks for sharing.

    • @FlorianSorgenfrei
      @FlorianSorgenfrei  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much, Scott! - I really appreciate your kind words. I didn´t know there are two versions out there. I´m not a professional organist either, but having an instrument at home makes it way easier and comfortable to practice. I assume it also took me more than 2 weeks to get a good level of this piece - haha, but it will become better quite soon. I think the main part is practicing the right hand separately, get a nice fingering as well as a good balance between pushing down the keys and hand rotation. And then ... just having fun playing this joyful piece :-)

    • @scottmarroon7734

      @@FlorianSorgenfrei thank you Florian. I too have an organ at home and practice daily which does help in learning a new piece quicker. I will definitely take your advise and play the right hand first, especially on the last page with all those runs! Phew. That’s the hardest part for me since I never wanted to do my scale work, I only wanted to play songs. 😂

    • @FlorianSorgenfrei
      @FlorianSorgenfrei  2 роки тому +1

      @@scottmarroon7734 Great - it´s always good to have an instrument at home. Haha - I can truly relate. I didn´t warm up, I didn´t practise scales, I also just wanted to play. Even now, I have to force myself to set some targets before my practice session - otherwise I just fool around. 😀

      @@FlorianSorgenfrei what are the organ shoes that you use ? Are they organ master ? I need to get a pair and I like the look of yours.

    • @FlorianSorgenfrei
      @FlorianSorgenfrei  Рік тому

      @@scottmarroon7734 Hi Scott - no, these are Diamant shoes. They´re acutally Latin dance shoes but are also perfect for organ playing. Their sole is really soft and thin so you can really feel the pedals with your toes. The heel has a perfect height and the shape of the shoes is awesome because the shoes are quite slim and fit perfectly around your foot. So you won´t unintentionally hit two pedals at once. The quality is also very good - I´m having these for around 10 years now.
      Of course, you have to get used to the (slim) heels, but after a while you will never want to play with anything else ;-)
      PS: I don´t get paid for this recommendation - I´m just a big fan of these shoes - haha.

    Has this music style influenced your own more recent improvisations that you have shown here too ?

    • @FlorianSorgenfrei
      @FlorianSorgenfrei  4 роки тому +1

      I never recognized, but the more I think about it, I'd say yes! I really like that majestic style in both major (triumphant) and minor (dramatic). It suits quite often, but it depends on the improvised hymn, melody and text though.

    • @chazharrison5646
      @chazharrison5646 4 роки тому +1

      Florian Sorgenfrei yes, I agree, keeping with the melody and text particularly is important when providing the appropriate colouring to the improvisation or even just playing the hymn through with singers. 👍

    • @FlorianSorgenfrei
      @FlorianSorgenfrei  4 роки тому +1

      Absolutely, that's what can make the difference between playing and feeling a song/hymn :)
