What's most stunning to me is how creative people get. The Megapixel stiching attempt. The astrophotography blog posts. As a thermal imaging enthusiast those resources teach you something about the potential of low resolution (80x60 for example) and bad lenses.
Small tip for gameboy color: Before turning on the console, hold left on the Dpad and the B button then the on switch. This will put the gameboy color's screen into black and white mode instead of those odd blue/green tones. This way you can better idea of how your files will actually look because theyre monochrome when exported.
Brilliant!! Such good memories using this when I was a boy in the shop. Never had enough money for this... This channel is gold. I do not get tired recommending it.
I have some very fond memories of the Gameboy Camera, it was one of my first "point and shooters" so it was really fun to wander around as a kid and take pictures of anything really. The software though was really something else though, such a weird, bizarre interface that still kinda haunts me to this day haha. Thanks for the amazing video as usual Gordon :)
I'd love to use it on an Analogue Pocket, that screen would transform it, plus the upcoming firmware update. I think we'll be seeing a lot more GB Camera photos when that happens!
Possibly worth mentioning that the software interface/navigation was inspired by old-school RPGs, thus the "Shoot, Items, Magic, Check, and Run" options.
Thanks Jordan! I'm worried the GameBoy Camera has been a bit over-done, so it may not be the most popular video in this series, but it still needed to be done! Plus I got the chance to try out that Wifi printer dongle too, which in turn allowed me to supply you with some pics for your video!
I want to get one of these at some point because it seems really fun to play around with :) Will you ever cover the Nintendo DSi camera? That one was my first digital camera. I loved the DSi so much mostly because of the camera.
Wow so ahead of its time, looking back now. Great review mate. That printer reminded me of the sinclair spectrum printer, but i'm sure you will be doing that one at some point haha. Ka Pai
Yeah, I was also reminded of the ZX Printer which, amazingly, I never owned. Nor a MicroDrive. And I call myself a Spectrum fan! I always loved how many referred to the ZX Printer as the 'Astronaut's bog roll'.
I think your gameboy printer cartridges are expired or something, because when I had mine they looked pretty faithful to what appeared on screen. Your prints look like mind would after several months. (they did fade fairly quickly)
Don't worry, mine wasn't even proper GB printer paper, it was till paper. I mentioned this in the video. Unfortunately the original paper has mostly expired now and is in terrible condition.
I have a bunch of Game Boy Cameras, also a modified one which uses Canon Lenses. It's really fun to work with this Camera, even if it's not easy sometime. AT the Moment, I have a Project where I post every Day a Selfie for one Year on Instagram.
Great Video. Well researched, as all the technical details are correct! There's also still a big active community even doing development and modding around the camera. #gameboycameraclub
to unlock the last photo you have to beat the run run run in under 16 or 17 seconds I forget but getting 18 seconds took everything i had in me and took AAAALLLLLL day to get. I gave up on the last two images.
@@DinoBytes I got it for the music sequencer Trippy H like a decade ago. I love the images it captures. Getting the images out of the camera is a bit of work.

I got one earlier this year to use with my Analog Pocket. It's a lot of fun! Makes me wish I had one as a kid when they originally released.

Yeah, I might do something about the DS at some point, but I've got about 30 cameras I need to get through first! Thanks for watching!

It's almost like Nintendo has always a knack for satisfying the broad end of the market with a good enough accessible option. Switch 👀
WHO ARE YOU RUNNING FROM ?
DON'T BE SO SILLY !
(that second error screen after the first is even rarer!)
Yeah I had to select Run quite a few times to witness the full horror!

Nice one!
Yes the Gameboy camera is weird but I have the Canon Powershot 30 PCMCIA digital camera from 1996 which is very weird too.
Hah, nice one! Have you seen my video about the Nikon COOLPIX 100? A similar proposition.
@@DinoBytes yep
Hi Gordon, I wonder if you could review the Coolpix 8800 (10X zoom), thanks :D
More Coolpix's to come soon, but starting with the really old ones first

Almost useless...but soooo COOL !!! 🤩 I can imagine those latte 90's kids taking all kind of crazy photos....😅
It's what all the cool kids are using now!
Analog film is too mainstream now so grab the exclusive Nintendo Gameboy camera for untapped nostalgia!

But do you still use it?

Frankly, I'm tired of seeing videos about this thing.
Hope this will be the last one.
It's my last one. I'll be doing something a LOT more serious next, probably the Nikon D1 or a Sony F series.
