*_Jogadhya is the goddess of spirits and goblins. She is known as BHOOTDHATRI (The Goddess of Ghosts). She is the Kuladevi of Demons clan (Rakshasas). The demons used to worship her by offering her human sacrifices, to which goddess fulfilled their desires !! That's the reason behind the ritual of offering her Narabali, the rituals which was performed by Rakshasa during her puja !!_*
*_She is Paataal Bhairavi herself !! Ahiravana worshipped her, but as per ritual he has to offer human sacrifice, and Ravana has instructed him to kill Lord Rama And Lakshman !! He decided to offer human sacrifice of Lord Rama and Lakshman !! Mother Goddess who was watching all this, helped Lord Ram and Hanuman by tricking Ahiravana to put his head into the guillotine and thus leading to his own decapitation !! But Mother Goddess asked Lord Rama to continue to perform the worship as he has offered Ahiravana's sacrifice to him and that's how humans started worshipping her !! And Hanuman was asked to immerse her idol into the water._*
