Yeah this whole trend is stupid. First off, the guards in jail usually aren't going to lay a finger on you. When you get crazy, first they just pepper spray you, and if that doesn't work, you get the taser. And if your too stupid to calm down then, you probably get put in the "Turtle suit", which you don't want. What is so glamorous and cool about mugshots anyway. I sure as hell don't want my mugshots leaking out, I hope they disappear forever.

I got abused couple years ago and there was some bs going on with the case so the first thing they put me trought was that they took me to jail WITH CONCUSSION AND ALL BLOODY instead of a hospital and took my mugshot. Could say that I'm not personally pleased with this trend. Semi triggering tbh.

As a woman, who is living in fear of sending my kids to school.. because I’m a domestic abuse survivor we live with a restraining order under protection and my duaghter has never met her biological dad after he kicked me in the belly pregnant. In prisons there, it may indicate a child molester. Apparently the fellow inmates will hold down the chomo and force the tattoo on them to let others know the nature of their crimes.

Phoebulous I’ve truly never heard of that... have you ever been outside of Australia? Or do you have friends that live in America? Even sometimes just studying different cultures can be incredibly eye opening. Watching diff prison documentaries ect, there’s A LOT of rappers who came from the gang life and a few that still bang/claim sets who still got their og tattoos. Gang tattoos as a whole are HUGE! it’s a way of branding which set/hood you are a part of aswell as just identifying yourself in certain areas and it almost always will start off very young as an initiation. This can be as basic as symbols or numbers or it can get real creative.. but they are forever coming up w new shit bc police always catch on quick and once you’re in the system associated w that gang anything that comes under 12s radar tied to the gang they’ll b tryna pin you for and tryna get you to rat on gang for. if you google a city and then put in gang tattoos there’s a whole dam museum full of photos. i have a friend in la who tattoos and he refuses to tattoo any gang related tattoo bc it literally puts him n his shop in danger from all the rival gangs for just doing that tattoo on someone.. even just having a tattoo shop in certain areas is a BIIGGG no no.

As a victim of domestic violence I really do find this whole trend offensive. My father was abusive in every way up until I was 8 and me and my mom and brother ran away. We watched him try to kill my mom 3 times and nothing be done. The mugshot trend was one thing, weird yes, but not that offensive. But the beaten up ones are where it goes too far. In my opinion..
