- Taiping 太平, is a town located in Larut, Matang and Selama District, Perak, Malaysia. It is located approximately 48 km (30 mi) northwest of Ipoh, the capital of Perak, and 78 km (48 mi) southeast of George Town, Penang. With a population of 245,182 (in 2013), it is the second largest town in Perak after Ipoh, the state capital.
Shot in October 2023. Color graded to own taste using a Film Emulation powergrade & Dehancer as base, DaVinci Resolve color managed. Blurred drone footage a little to match the rest.

Taiping a gem. Taiping in the rain-shadow region of the Main Range mountain is thus wet in precipitation.
I went to a boarding school here in Taiping, at the feet of Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut). The environment is definitely more relaxed than the big city. I used to wander Taiping city center by foot, and at the end of the day, I went to the Taman Tasik for a quick rest. Taiping, one of the best places to live. I want to retire here one day.

Whole town is a historic tour
There are actually much more than what is in the video, a very very interesting town to explore.
I just hope to create awareness for others because one short video will not represent the whole picture of a place
Taiping has the most "THE FIRST" in Malaysia... Namely Train station, penjara, museum, telegraph....

Had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Peking recently. Food galore at the nearby hawker ctr. The rain! Beautiful majestic mountain & jungle. Love the peace & calm of Taiping!

上拜五上拜五北上工作，回程順道從紅泥山行舊路到甘文丁嘅某釣魚場視察環境。由於呢座釣魚場背山，雨雲徐徐飄來把山隱去身影時美極了。過後落起長命雨，從太平嘅大雨到金寶嘅毛毛雨，再從打巴出南北大道一路南下至Tanjung Malim才離開雨雲範圍
好有趣既經驗，你形容雨雲實在係掂。此雨雲非那雨雲🤭😆

@@10cFILM 系依家嘅雨季期間，早晨七點左右系南北大道行駛至Tanjung Malim至Behrang或怡保至江沙偶爾會遇到霧氣隨風飄到大道路段，此時車子通過霧氣陣仲以為誤闖異界XDD
吹水都要就到你至得，有時失驚無神就跑去拍片

0:23 Taiping's former name was Klian Pauh, not Larut. From Malay Wiki: Nama lama Taiping ialah Klian Pauh. Klian bermaksud lombong. Pauh pula ialah sejenis buah mangga dengan ukuran yang bersaiz kecil. There are 2 schools bearing that name in town. Taiping is fast losing all of its heritage charm. Every old building is being demolished on a whim. Those that are left standing are little more than a shadow of its former self, as they have been updated with a new bland look. The best time to visit Taiping was in the 60s. So you'd need a mad cap professor and a 1981 DeLorean.

Thanks for the input on the old name of Taiping, as I used Chinese wiki for research, it stated the name is Larut, but English and Malay name is Klian Pauh. So I guess wikipedia is not really a reliable source for factual stuff.
Hope any scholar with history major can chip in with some real info.
