Cor Sanne has been active in music since the 1960s. He organizes many country events and brought Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Bill Monroe and Jerry Lee Lewis to Europe. Enthusiasts know him as the host of Back To The Country. But his musical blood runs deep, which is why he has been taking to the stage again for a number of years now. He met up with his friends from the Blue Grass Boogiemen and the band Grand Old Country was born. After a period of radio silence, Cor and the Boogiemen pick up the thread again in the theater.
When the Nieuwkoop couple Cor and Margreet Sanne decided to set up the company CMS Productions, they really had no idea that things would get out of hand in such a positive way. In recent years, Cor, originally an accountant, has acted as manager for a large number of artists and bands, mainly focused on country music. This type of music still dominates their lives.
Musician Cor Sanne visited his friends from Blue Grass Boogiemen a few years ago, and the band Grand Old Country was born. With acoustic instruments they bring the essence of authentic country music. In their new show they perform classics by Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, John Denver, Don Williams. Their authentic vocals and virtuoso instrumentation take you back to the days of the old-fashioned country bar.
