I've been watching since day one, and you've achieved some great accomplishment's with your Pigeon, Breeding, Training, Flying and, sharing with these Racing Pigeons thanks Robertson Family.
Brother i not sure you know how how much you help people , Knowledge is meant to be shared , an glad you share it with Us, No detail is too small , Portland OR
Vaminos.!!! Very nice. About a year ago I said to you that "I've never heard you mention in- breeding" Now is that twice in one post? Looks like the individual breeding lofts are working out great for you!!
Ha! I do remember your comment! And yes, that would be two instances of planning inbreeding right here 🙂 I do like the individual breeding pens. They have worked great!
Hey Brother i love your videos, I have a few questions, , 1. how old are your youngsters before you give them first flight out of the loft, 2. how long have they been flying at your home before you give them there first training toss, Hope to hear back from you , Robert Portland OR
Hey Robert! Great questions! 1. The younger the better. Less chance of them flying off too far and getting lost 2. As soon as they are loft flying for 30+ minutes at a time and more importantly, they are flying out of sight to explore neighboring areas (called “routing” or “ranging”)
Ps REMEMBER THE SHAPE OF THE WING WILL DECIDE ON THE DISTANCES THAT THE BIRDS WILL BE GOOD AT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT AM SAYING THINK OF WILD BIRDS WINGS AND SHAPE SPEED OR DISTANCES
I prefer to let the basket to tell me which birds are long distance and which are short distance, sorry not a theory person, only the basket theory. My opinion re pairing up best to best and forget the rest. South Africa.
I know that bud but in 1year you will know if they are outstanding birds that you've trying to get people will still buy them at 1 year old for breeding sort them on speed distance think you will be sorry
I read your other comment too fast. I see what you’re saying and you are right. It would be better in the long run to test them out and then decide which to keep and which to pass on. Thanks!!
I reply to all the messages I receive. How have you tried to contact me? Facebook? Email? I don’t think your messages are coming through. My Gmail handle is “erotylid” Also, where are you located?
I WOULD NEVER SELL MY YOUNG BIRDS YOU NEED TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD THEY COULD BE I WOULD SET THEM ON THE SAME SCHEDULE AS OTHER BIRDS IF THEY GET LOST SO BE IT BUT THEY COULD BE SOMTHING FANTASTIC AFTER 1 YEAR AND CLOCKING THERE TIMES AGAINST YOUR BEST THEN DECIDE IF THEY MAKE THE TEAM KEEP OR GET RID KNOWING YOUR LOFT IS SMALL YOU ONLY WANT THE BEST THAT WAY YOU WILL MOST PROBABLY HAVE WINNERS 🏆 🤔 HOPE THIS HELPS YOU DECIDE
That is good insight my friend. I’m confident they will be special, but I am not racing YBs this fall, so I’m hoping to get these youngsters out to people who can fly them or want to try breeding from them. My loft is small, as you know, so space is a premium. Selling a few also helps me pay for feed and supplies. 🙂

Hey Mr. Robertson quick question Is it Ok if I let My Breeders do five rounds per year?
Pumping 5 rounds a year is pushing it. It is physically draining and the breeders need to recover for next year. I would recommend no more than 4.

Ultimately the basket is the ONLY way to tell. Absolutely correct
