- More steam on the WCML. We see the DUKE deputising for TORNADO and what a sight it makes as it departs Milton Keynes Central on Saturday 5th March on its way to Shrewsbury. Although returning after dark we are treated to more smoke and steam together with a hefty blast on the chime as she leaves MK for Euston on a cold wet night.
Excellent video; great vantage point there! I saw here at Watford Junction both times; she certainly put on a show for us all.

Great vid! What an engine - the first shot of it pulling out of the station shows.... now that was rapid acceleration with 13 coaches on. TU :-)
Yep!! it is me. once again, managed the arrival but again work stoped me from filming the return. Dave. A good position for filming, I did notice a few on the fence side filming. Dave.
@PeterHHodge Thanks for the comment Peter. I was pleased with the results I got on the return leg in the dark. It was certainly worth braving the cold damp night for, especially the long blast on the chime as she pulled away from MK. Saw her again today being towed in light steam by one of the Royal Train locos and will be posting a short clip to You Tube in the next day or so.

@HughFromAlice Have you seen my other video "the Duke heads homewards? We went to see it on Monday albeit only in light steam and being towed by one of the Royal Train locos but it made a grand sight nevertheless
@HughFromAlice Thanks for the comment. I'm glad my Wife persuaded us to brave the cold wet night for the return leg. I wasn't sure what sort of shots I would get in the dark but am pleased with the results. Went to see it again today being towed (in light steam) by one of the Royal Train diesels back to its home depot. A short clip should be on Y/T in a day or so.

Mike, thanks for nice comment, if you look at my channel, nephroid7 you will find a clip of the Duke being towed in light steam behind one of the royal train engines on its way back north a couple of days later. There are also films of other steam specials at MK on my channel.
