Been religiously doing my daily writs on 18 to 20 Toons for years. Do it while watching television. Muscle memory does the heavy lifting for me. Long live addons! 😉
They should convert some dailies into weeklies and monthlies. For example there should be an option to do crafting writs either daily like now (some gold + a chance to get a master writ) or once a week (the amount of crafted items needed to complete is 7 times more but you will get 7 times more gold and most importantly a guaranteed master writ).
The Culanda Lacquer / Aldmeri furnishings might be popular right now because of the Seabloom Villa house they just added. It's available for $5 on the ESO website and is basically free since it also comes with 800 Crowns. It's called the Homeowner's Starter Bundle or something very similar. It's a nice two-story, two-room house with great views. Also, from my perspective, it's a shortcut to the Auridon Clothier and Jewelry Surveys, as well as the Toothmaul Gully public dungeon. I'm tired of having to ride half the width of Auridon from Tanzelwil(?) Wayshrine for those three things, so I'm very tempted to buy it myself. Doubt I'll bother decorating it, though.
I do daily writs on 7 characters. The biggest chore for me is logging out and logging back in on a new char, I hate it. I do appreciate incentives though; I'm material rich as a result, and doing 60 master writs every month or so is no sweat for me. The guild and bogrul dailies, combined with curated drops, are filling up my sticker book too. And while doing this I've picked up quite a few mythic leads that I might not have been bothered to search for otherwise. So it's clear the devs have put thought into how all this works, and it does keep me playing.
I have been loving ESO lately. I've gotten back into it after not playing for two years and I have so much to explore and experience. I feel like ESO is in a really great place for me, I know some say the economy sucks but I have made the most gold I've ever made playing.
I hope the Heartwood/Runestones change just increases demand rather than crashes. Hope they make more houses with no structures for more building. New landscapes.
I do my daily writs on 16 characters regularly, but it does feel like a chore sometimes. Unless I multitask while I have coffee/watch tv, it definitely feels more like a chore than fun.
16 characters is quite a lot. Stopped at 10 myself, granted they have 15 full motifs too and full research running still. Thankfully doesn't take as long any more as it used to
I'm at 4.1k hours in ESO, I used to have a routine for a long time, but it made me not like the game, I'm a casual player. Since I just log in just to do some zone quests, dailies, random dungeons, whatever comes up in mind first, and not being in a hurry, playing one or 2 hours at the end of the day I'm loving it again. Why do I need to do the daily writs on 10+ character, I don't have too, I just do them on one or 2, 3. I'm not in a hurry for anything, the game will be here in a month or 3 or 2 years even. It will be the same. That's just me, Chill, and just do something, it's not a job, if you miss out. You miss out on 99.9% of stuff in real life, it's no issue if I miss it in the game. Grab a beer, run a vet dlc dungeon with random people and have fun :)))
I used to do crafting dailies on 12 characters but burned out on it. I had a one year ESO plus membership but when that lapsed, I realized it had been holding me hostage from playing other games and other real world things because I didn't want to waste valuable time I payed for and the access to the craft bag. Now the only time I pay for plus is the month when a new chapter drops so I can do a play through of it without worrying about time consuming inventory management... And I am not doing crafting dailies without ESO Plus because without the 2x bank space and the craft bag, it just generates way too much stuff and I end up using all my characters for extra bank space.
@@CasualLamer Yeah, fortunately most of it was through the lockdowns so I didn't have much of anything else to do or places to go at the time anyway. But I don't want to be tethered to a single activity because of FOMO.
Im really bad at getting into these routines because they have burned me out from other games in the past, so even when friends tell me like oh you should be doing your dailies, im like i hate them so i dont do them 😂 i do wrist with 9 characters almost religiously tho but i found my way around them by doing them every 2 days rather than every day, just pick up the mission but actually do it the next day, i play on xbox btw, and also filtering all the tables to show only quest related items, that makes it a lot quicker
Yes the drop rate on furnishings mats needs to be better.. crafting writs on 20 characters kills my soul!! I wish they could come up with a faster way to do them maybe 1 table and a craft all button. Takes me about 3 hours with my slow ps4 load times I barely get to play anything else after I finish my writs.
@@CasualLamer I can’t that’s too significant of a financial loss I got 100,000 gold a day for doing it I do not want to cut that down to 50,000 gold especially when I’m trying to play catch-up from taking a break for six years
So long story made short, this is just a game. Yes it is addicting and yes it can be very repetitive but at the same time, it's a free roam game that you can play at your own pace. All the stuff in the game is there to make a choice about. Do you want to grind for certain things? If so then grind, if not then don't. And the stuff you brought up with the crown store..... it's not predatory at all. Every single game out there has limited time micro transactions and once again, a choice has to be made whether to grind for it or pay for it, or don't. I feel they set up this game extremely well and they should keep doing what they are doing.
I don't think the argument that every single game has time limited microtransactions (which imo also depends on the length of the offer) is a good one. Just because something might be the norm doesn't make it okay.
@CasualLamer how else are developer companies supposed to make money to pay their employees for future content? And the employees are just the beginning of the money issues.. you can add in server equipment and hardware upgrades, training on new programming technology, the list goes on. Microtransactions help ALL developers continue to push out more content and keep the community interested. Sure they could raise the prices of the core game and the expansions/dlc but then they would be too expensive for a lot of people to purchase, resulting in a massive decline of community players. We all need to come to terms with the fact that the micro transactions in games are there as a necessity. And besides, if you CHOOSE not to purchase any of the microtransactions, someone else out there is spending hundreds of dollars on them, basically compensating for you not spending money on them. Fact is, microtransactions are needed and of course are still a choice.

The crownstore "limited" time items are in a rotation so there isnt really pressure to get them unless its a seasonal pack or event pack like the halloween furnishing packs. I agree and think the store is set up pretty well. Ive definetly seen worse predatory microtransaction systems
Surveys are a pain. Too much hassle for the reward. The problem is that they keep many things time consuming, like gathering surveys when they could easily simplify them. They don't really listen to their players, unfortunately. I have 60 characters over PC and PS5. I am about to stop PS5 and focus primarily on PC-NA. I only do dailies on on my main most days now even though I could make decent gold doing it on all of them.
Your perspective is a little skewed... No one is forcing you to do daily quests, undaunted, writs, random dungeon, daily BG, IA, and go to do the daily cyr and IC dailies.... On 10 characters. Shit I play all the time and don't even do that shit on one character That would be crazy! That is crazy to do all of it on just one character, even if you love the game
That is correct but it is not the point. The mechanisms behind FOMO are well researched. The argument "nobody forces you to do it" is a weak one, as this is true for plenty of things in life that can still pose an issue for people

There are no game routines. People are just soo used to have to do things people tell them to do they just can't say no to whatever is thrown at them. I log in and don't do anything I don't feel like doing, sometimes it is just killing world bosses, sometimes it is just picking plants, sometimes it is chatting in zone chat. Everything else is people hitting their heads against the wall as if someone would be sad if you didn't do your daily endeavours or something. Y'all weird af fr.
4 months. 500 hours. I was shocked at how predatory this western mmo is. Fk all thd daily shit. I am done with it all already. I will never do a writ. I will however. Spend my real money buying gold and paying people to boost me and similar things. I only make sure i use my rested xp, but even then. With the next xp event i am going to spend like 50 hours farming brp with my friend to push to like 1200 cp. The mtx, the fomo. The nerf and balance of this game has already made me hate the devs and will be the last game i play by them or the pub. Gross stuff, fun game for pvp tho. The 4v4v4 is really fun.
Developers do not know how to make a good addictimg game so they have to make up stupid chores and tasks. They made people camp on deshaan water alchemy nodes for gods sake. What kind of developer force this upon players?

I was today years old when I learned you can reconstruct mythics across your characters. For whatever reason I thought it was one per account.
