Thank you for this review! I am going there with my kids for the spring break. My first ever caravan outing😊 and I had a few questions. Do I need to bring dishwashing soap, salt, sugar , oil for frying etc . I will need to cook for my seven day stay.

Yes you will need to bring all your food including condiments and cooking oils. Check with the park direct if you have a dishwasher as not many caravans do. I hope you have a good time, it can feel strange if you've not stayed in one before, but it's great fun. 🙂

Can tell you some story's of this place going back 20 plus years !
One year a new lifeguard was employed no qualification at all the same as the other 2 of them ! in the end they had to get trained quick (after 3 months of work) and went to their Clacton resort at st osyths for a week, anyway after that the pool had been open for 6 weeks and then was closed and water recycled as there was 5 times the amount of chlorine in the water that should have been.......they only found this out after many people complaining of rashes and the like.
Then the man that lay dead in a caravan there for over 7 months, they cut his electric and gas off and his social care officer took him off her list, they went to repossess the caravan and found what was left of him.............and yes I have seen the pictures and there was not much, the caravan was cleaned up re-sold and is still on park ! this would have been around 2017 then the Gypsy that drowned in the front lake around 2020.
Loads of real happenings at this place and sewerage in the complex staff having it off in the main office.
Use to be a main meet up for the travellers until they closed the touring field down as they could not handle them the security were scared and use to leave them to do as they liked, they use to take over the main complex and urinate on the decking and get their kids to pee in the pool for all the holiday makers to swim in their pee.
Use to be a great place until money makers took it on and make every penny they can from it not caring about the people that live their.

Wow, that sounds awful. I bet a lot of the parks have similar stories if we knew what went on behind the scenes. Having seen how owners were treated during covid, it certainly put me off ever owning a caravan anywhere.

Too much nonsense going on with park holidays at the minute, that nonsense has put me off visiting and buying a lodge

We looked at buying a caravan/lodge a few years ago at a couple of different parks, but after a bit of research we found it wasn't quite as peachy being an owner as it looked. I'm happy being a guest for the moment, but we might buy one day once caravan ownership is a regulated a bit better.
