Sometimes you just NEED a larger capacity spray rig. I'll show you how to build one, AND let you in on another use for it, that will be the most important prep you can do !
Here is a link to the Pump I used. I like it ! Plenty of pressure, very good GPM and it only runs when there is demand. The reviews are great too ! - amzn.to/2EdTUcu
Pretty nifty! Appears to work like a charm. I have one of those in my camping trailer, but never thought to use it to pressurize the house pipes. Great idea.
This is just the system I need! Thanks
You bet!
Sorry... I forgot to put the link.
I just added it under the video in the description box. It has plenty of pressure (as you saw) and only runs when there is demand for it. It only uses a small amount of energy. The reviews are great, too. I have used pumps like this one for 10+ years. They are GREAT !
Thanks for the comment...
That whole house thing is the real deal. Thanks for sharing.
That type of pump is the same as used on large Camper Trailers. Very useful for camping with an On demand propane water heater while tent camping. We have use it for years in the mountains hunting.
i think that is a great idea. i will be getting a couple of those pumps. I have one but it is not an on demand one and it troubles me often.
Works like a charm !
GREAT IDEA...THANK YOU FOR SHARING
A fantastic idea!
Cool idea thanks for sharing
Cool idea ... bro!
I am looking at using one of those pumps and an IBC tote with a boom made with multiple hydroponic 180deg spray heads to spread compost tea fertilizer... I only have an Ford 8N so not sure if the 3pt will carry the full IBC, I may have to mount on a trailer...
Awesome idea but you usually do come up with some very cool ideas! Retirement is a fun time!~ LOL
You mean a walk through of my whole place? ... not really. But you're not the first to ask... so I may need to do that.
thanks for the comment
Kick butt tractor! Cool video.... Have you ever done a walk through?
I sprayed a lot of territory on one barrel... not sure how "long".
It probably took me about 30 minutes, but a lot of that was driving around.
I think the pump is about 3 gallons a minute... so... it should take about
15- 20 minutes if I was doing it continually.
whats the model of pump ? do you have a suggestion on what the best [ low pricesd ] weed control chemical to use
for spraying my fence line which is 2100 feet long ? great video
Cool setup.
How much spay time do you get from one barrel?
What did you use for the spray nozzle / handle itself? Suggestion.. mount the pump to the top of the barrel, that shortens your lift and make the entire unit self contained. Nice job.
I just used something like this> amzn.to/2u3uJ6O
I ran out of space on the first one... :)
Even if your 8N would pick it up, your front end would come off the ground. I don't think you could put enough weights up there to keep it down.
My 2 pesos...
thanks for commenting
Great idea. Could this be made into a boom sprayer? We need to spray fields and and it takes way to long with a smaller gallon unit. Thanks!
Possibly!
You would have to get some nozzles made for wide distribution.
I have one very similar to this: amzn.to/3CkPRGP
I've had it for years and it does a great job.
For bigger jobs I have a 110 gallon PTO driven sprayer. ua-cam.com/video/JAinh0cGFj0/v-deo.html
If you have a tractor and have a lot of ground to cover... I highly recommend a PTO sprayer
@@BIGALTX Thanks so much for your info!
Couldn’t get the link to work. What’s the gpm and cut off pressure? I like how much you can spray it’s what I’m trying to build up now👍
Here's a working link: amzn.to/2EdTUcu
This one has worked well for me.
The self priming part is probably talking about Head or height it will suck From. Be sure to get a pump Rated for Chemicals if you intend to use something in addition to water.
You must be in East or S.E. Texas looking at the trees in your videos. We are between Abilene and Ft. Worth.
Yep... ETX
You said "a boom" if you mean a 3 point boom, I dont think it would work on an 8N. A FULL 275-300 gallon IBC is well over a ton. Put that weight on the end of a boom pole multiplies the weight. I'm not sure, but I don't think an 8N has that much capacity, even if it is closer to the tractor, like a hay fork (the best way to pick one up).
I filled an IBC to take to the back and water my corn last year. My Kubota is 68 horse 4WD... and it definitely KNEW the IBC was back there. It was HEAVY. I
what pvc fitting did you have to purchase so that the pump connects to garden hose...thank you
The fittings were just bought at the local hardware store.
Most pumps have different output/input fittings so you'll have to take the pump to the hdw store and see which one works.
Like this one ... amzn.to/2sfD2bf
It looks like the in/out fittings are 1/2" male. If so, you'll need a 1/2" female to 3/4" male adapter to use with garden hose.
(but they may be 3/4" male... hard to tell from picture).
Someone at hdw. store should know enough to help you.
Hope that helps.
thanks so much...I have some baby orange trees I will need to water out in the field and this is a great way to get the job done...
You mentioned that you were using that to kill weeds in a pond that is too steep. Can I ask, what kind of weed killer are you using?
If / when I spray my pond, it is usually for algae. I don't remember the exact name of the spray, but if I remember right it's something with copper in it. The copper kills the algae. If you're talking about spraying the grass along the water's edge, and you don't mind using chemicals, the only thing I know it Round Up. I buy the generic, cause I don't want to give Monsanto anything I don't have to. I try to go 1/2 strength. I think it could be harmful to fish... so read the label and be careful if you have fish... and try not to get any overspray in the pond.hope that helpsalan
Sorry... I forgot to answer your chem question.
I would say buy a generic glyphosphate product. Look at the farm stores, etc. Get as big a bottle (like 2.5 gal) that you can afford... look for 41% ...it's cheaper in the long run.
The best reason for going generic is that you are not giving any $ to Monsanto for Roundup. They MAY get some kind of copyright $ but it would be small. I don't like using chems, but with about 5K feet of fence, that's the only way I can get it under control.
What mower do you have on there?
+TheSteelArmadillo
On the tractor I use a 6 foot Modern mower.
